Inexpensive second-class cabin. I was anxious about my first solo trip.
However, it was a very comfortable journey, and I had a moment to forget about everyday life while feeling the breeze on the deck.
I was fortunate with the weather, so there was no rocking.

安価な2等船席。初めてのひとり乗船で不安でした。
でも、とても快適な船旅で、デッキで風を感じながら日常を忘れる時間でした。
天気に恵まれたので揺れることもなかったです。

The waves were calm, and we were able to lie down comfortably inside the boat. It was such a good time that even though we were on board for a long time, it didn't feel that long.

波も穏やかで船内もゆっくりと横にもなれました。長時間乗ってのにさほど長く感じなかった位よいじかんでした。

I was able to enjoy nature while moving through areas with swift currents and calm spots. It's easy for small children to participate, and I recommend it for those who want to take their time enjoying the scenery.

流れが急な場所、凪の場所を進みながら自然を楽しめました。小さい子供でも参加しやすく、ゆっくり風景を楽しみたい人におすすめです。

The first ferry from Fukue Island to Nakadori Island in the morning is recommended. If you're driving a rental car north on Nakadori Island from Narao, the affordable ferry is sufficient. The deck at the bow offers a great view and is quiet, with no engine noise, making it a great spot to relax.

福江島から中通島への朝一番の便はフェリーです。奈良尾からレンタカーで中通島を北上するなら価値が安いフェリーで十分です。船首側のデッキは眺めがよくエンジン音も聞こえず静かでおすすめです。

Presenting the voucher at the counter allowed for a smooth ticket issuance. I was able to board quickly following the boarding announcement. The interior of the ship was organized and comfortable.

On the day of sightseeing, it unfortunately rained, and we had to change our schedule. After consulting with an older driver, we canceled the kayak tour and visited Kadena Air Base, had lunch at the number one Okinawa soba restaurant, and then went to the Churaumi Aquarium, which made for a very satisfying day. I've been to Okinawa many times, but I rarely have the opportunity to visit a U.S. military base, so it was a great experience.

観光当日はあいにくの雨で、急遽スケジュールを変更。年配のドライバーさんに相談して、カヤックツアーをキャンセルして、嘉手納空軍基地の見学、沖縄NO.１の沖縄そば屋で昼食、そして美ら海水族館に行き、大満足の一日でした。沖縄には何回も来ていますが、なかなか米軍基地を見学する機会はないので、とても良い体験ができました。

After enjoying the view of the Hozu River Gorge from the trolley train, we went on a boat ride down the Hozu River for about 2 hours, covering approximately 16 km from Kameoka to Arashiyama. Surrounded by greenery in June, the skillful teamwork of the three boatmen was a sight to behold. Their humorous storytelling provided a wealth of topics, including history, scenic points, unique rock formations, and tales of flora and fauna, making for a delightful experience.

トロッコ列車で保津川峡谷を眺めた後、亀岡から嵐山まで、約16kmの約2時間保津川下りに行きました。6月の緑の中、3人の船頭が息を合わせる職人技は必見で、ユーモア溢れる語りで歴史や絶景ポイントや奇岩や花鳥動物たちの話など話題も豊富で楽しい時間を過ごせました。

I went up for the first time in a while. My friend came from Osaka, so I bought two tickets in advance on this site and we went in the evening. It was relatively empty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but I felt that more people gradually started to arrive as the night went on. It seems like there are more tall buildings now, but unfortunately, the TV tower was only visible from the top antenna due to the buildings blocking it. I purchased a cake set in advance on this site, and we redeemed it at the designated café in the observation room. The cake we had at the top was delicious, and it came with a small drink, making it a great deal for a little break. At the end of June, the days are long, and the sun sets late, so we stayed until around 7:30 PM, and it finally seemed to get dark. Looking ahead, a larger building will be constructed next to this observation room along with the Shinkansen station, so I was glad to see it before the construction. My friend seemed to really like the glass-walled restroom and went to see it multiple times. Next time, I would like to go up when I have the chance to see the construction site of the Shinkansen station.

久しぶりに上りました。
友達が大阪からくるので事前にこちらのサイトでチケットを２枚取って
夕方いってきました。
コロナ禍なので空いてましたが夜に向けて徐々に人が増えていく感じだったと思います。
高さのある建物が増えた感じがしますが、残念ながらテレビ塔はビルの影で
一番上のアンテナが見えるだけでした。
こちらのサイトでケーキセットがお得だったので事前に購入し
展望室の指定のカフェで引き換えていただきましたが最上化で頂くケーキは美味しかったような気がします。小さめのドリンクも付いていたのでお得で一休みできました。
６月末はとにかく日が長く日が沈むのが遅く夜７時半まで居ましたが
なんとか暗くなったようにみえます。
先の話ですがこの展望室より大きなビルが隣に新幹線の駅と一緒にできるので工事前にみれて良かったです。
友達がガラス張りのトイレが気に入ったようで何回も見に行ってました。
次回は新幹線駅の工事現場を見れる時期に機会があったら上ってみたいです。

It was hot, and the water level was low, which took some time, but I was impressed by the boatman's earnest paddling and his efforts in engaging conversation!

暑くて水量が少なく時間もかかりましたが、船頭さんの一所懸命に漕がれてる姿とトークも頑張ってられるところが感激しました！

It was a very hot day, but I had a great time by the water. Unfortunately, due to the continued sunny weather, the water level was a bit low, which made it feel less wild, but the lush green summer valley was beautiful. I would love to see the autumn foliage and spring cherry blossoms next time. If you have the time, I definitely recommend experiencing it. The grilled squid sold by the boat at the end was also fantastic. Thank you to the boatmen for entertaining us for about two hours.

とても暑い日でしたが水辺で過ごせて楽しかったです。
晴天続きのため水量が少なめでワイルドさが少し足りないのが残念でしたが緑が濃い夏の渓谷がとてもきれいで次回は秋の紅葉、春の桜も見てみたいと思います。
時間があれば是非経験される事をおすすめします。
終盤に船が売りに来るイカ焼きも最高でした。
船頭さんたちも約2時間楽しませてくれてありがとうございました。

I thoroughly enjoyed the nearly two-hour river descent. It may depend on the participants' morale, but the trip I joined departed on time and arrived at Arashiyama almost as scheduled. The three boatmen were all friendly and entertaining, providing enjoyable commentary and explanations. The river conditions were calm, so some participants had the opportunity to paddle in the gentle areas.

However, even though we departed at 9 AM, it was a clear day with temperatures in Kyoto exceeding 38°C, so it was quite hot. I eagerly boarded as passenger number one (probably in order of check-in) and took a seat at the very front, but the canopy in the front row only partially blocked the sun (the sun is lower in the morning), so direct sunlight was intense. I also felt the wind more in the front, so in terms of heat, it was about the same. I think those in the second row and beyond were fine regarding sunburn. Since this is a natural activity, any water exposure is at your own discretion, and you might get splashed depending on the situation.

Food and drinks are allowed on board, so it might be a good idea to bring bottled tea or snacks. The seats do not have backrests, and you will be swaying in the rapids for two hours, so it may not be suitable for those with weak backs. Additionally, masks are required on board.

２時間近い川下り、堪能しました。参加者のモラルにもよるかもしれませんが、私の参加した回は定刻出発、嵐山着もほぼ予定通り。船頭さん３人は皆さんトークも説明も楽しくて感じのいい方ばかりでした。川の状態が穏やかだったので、何人かは流れの緩やかな場所で漕ぎ手の経験をさせてもらっていました。
ただまあ9時発とはいえ京都市内が最高気温38℃越えを記録した快晴下ですので、暑いことは暑かったです。私は張り切って乗客番号１番で乗り込んだ（多分受付順）ので一番前の一番端に陣取りましたが、先頭列は日よけの屋根が中途半端にしか遮ってくれず（朝だと太陽の位置も低い）直射日光はキツかったですね。一番風も受けますし暑さでいえばトントンでしょうか。２列目以降の方は日焼けは大丈夫かと思います。自然のアクティビティですので、水濡れなどは自己判断で。状況によっては被ります。
船内は飲食・持ち込み自由なのでペットボトルのお茶やお菓子など持参するといいかも。
背もたれのない椅子で急流に揺られつつ２時間下りますので、腰が弱い方には向かないと思います。
なお、船内はマスク着用です。

I had made a reservation in advance, so I was able to board right away. It was a very hot day, but the boat had a roof, and the captain's narration was very enjoyable, making the two hours fly by. The boat was also equipped with a splash guard, so I didn't get wet at all. I definitely want to go again during the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn foliage season.

事前に予約していたのですぐに乗船できました。
とっても暑い日でしたが船には屋根もあって船頭さんの語りもとても楽しく２時間あっという間でした。船に波除用のシートも完備されていて濡れることもなかっです。
次は春の桜、秋の紅葉の時期に是非行きたいと思います。

This year, the rainy season ended early, and due to the lower water levels than usual, we had about two hours of river rafting. Although it was the hot summer season, thanks to the shade, it was cooler than I expected, and the breeze during the rafting was very pleasant, making it comfortable. The boatmen entertained us with lively talks about plants, animals, and nature at various spots during the two hours. It was a special time where I could recharge my energy in a sense of liberation away from daily life! In spring, you can see cherry blossoms, and in autumn, the foliage, and without shade, you can enjoy an even more open feeling while rafting. I would like to try it in spring or autumn next time!

今年は梅雨明けが早く、例年よりも川の水量が少なかったこともあり、約2時間の川下りでした。夏の暑い時期でしたが、日除けがあったおかげで思ってたよりも涼しく、川下り中は風がとても気持ちよかったので快適でした。船頭さんたちは約2時間の中で、それぞれのスポットで植物や動物、自然の紹介等、軽快なトークを交えて楽しませてくれました。日常から離れた開放感の中で、エネルギーをチャージできるような特別な時間でした！
春は桜、秋は紅葉を見られるし、日除けがないためより開放感のある川下りを楽しめるそうです。次は春や秋に楽しんでみたいです！

In addition to the destinations I requested in advance, you took me to recommended places and stopped the car along the way to show me breathtaking spots, allowing me to enjoy Okinawa even more. You shared knowledge that I wouldn't have known if I had gone on my own, and I am truly grateful for that. You picked me up at the designated location early in the morning and were flexible, which was a great help for me since I'm not good at driving. I was able to fully enjoy Okinawa over the three days. I am really thankful to the driver who took care of me. Thank you very much.

事前にお願いした目的地以外にも、オススメ場所を連れて行って下さったり、途中で車を停めて絶景スポットを見せて下さったりしていただいて、沖縄をより満喫出来ました。
自分達で行っていたら知りえない知識も教えて下さって、本当に感謝です。
早い時間に指定場所にお迎えに来ていただけたり、融通をきかせてもらって、運転が苦手な私にとって本当に助かりました。
3日間でたっぷり沖縄を満喫することができました。

We toured from the hotel in Onna Village to Kouri Island → Nakijin Castle Ruins → Bise Fukugi Tree Lane → Churaumi Aquarium (a 7-hour course). Thanks to the driver's advice, we were able to stop at photo spots and take pictures, which was really great. At the sightseeing locations, he would say things like, "You should check this out!" which made for a very satisfying tour. When I requested to stop by a supermarket on the way back, he looked it up and took me there. Unfortunately, the supermarket was closed that day, but he kindly took us to the Michi no Eki Kyoda instead, where we could buy souvenirs and local ingredients, which was very much appreciated.

恩納村のホテルから古宇利島→今帰仁城跡→備瀬のフクギ並木→美ら海水族館を観光しました。（7時間コース）運転手さんのアドバイスで写真スポットでわざわざ車を止めて頂き、写真を撮る事が出来とても、良かったです。観光場所でも、こういうのがあるから見たら良いよ！とか言ってくれて、とても満足がいく観光ができました。帰りにスーパーに寄ってほしいとお願いしたら、調べてくれて行ってくれました。スーパーは、残念ながらその日は、やってなかったんですが、急きょ道の駅　許田に寄ってくれて、お土産や地元の食材を購入でき、これまたとてもありがたかったです。

The boatman's talk skills were outstanding, and it was a fun time that went by in a flash. I was sad when my recently purchased Hozu River boat ride towel fell into the river and sank during the rapids… ( ; ; ) But the boatman let me experience steering the boat, so it was a great experience! I thought it was harder than it looked. It seemed easy, but maneuvering a bus-sized boat with a pole while avoiding rocks in a rocky river is quite a challenge. It was hot this time, so I thought I would like to ride again during the autumn foliage season!

途中、急流で直前に購入した保津川下りのタオルが川に落ちて沈んでしまったのが悲しかったですが…（ ; ; ）泣
でも、船頭さんが舵取り体験をさせてくれたのでいい経験が出来ました♪
見た目以上にハードだと思いました。簡単そうに見えましたが、岩だらけの川で岩を避けながらバス並みの船を棒？で操縦するのは至難の業です。
今回は暑かったので今度は紅葉の時期に乗りたいなと思いました!!

After getting off at the streetcar station, it's a 3-minute walk to the free micro shuttle bus stop. It takes about 10 minutes on foot, but the uphill climb on the way there might be tough. The summit can be a bit chilly. The view is amazing, but a lot of people come later in the day. It's worth a visit if you're in Sapporo. The ropeway operates approximately every 15 minutes, but if there are too many people, you might have to wait for the next one on the way down. The shuttle bus is a micro, so I walked back to the station.

市電の駅を降りて3分も歩けば無料マイクロシャトルバス乗り場。歩いても10分位だけど行きは急な登りなので大変かも。山頂は少し肌寒い位。景色はサイコーだけど、遅い時間になるとすごく沢山の人がやってくる。札幌に行ったら行く価値あり。ロープウェイは15分間隔位で運行してるけど、あまりに人がいると下りは積み残しあるかもしれないです。シャトルバスはマイクロなので帰りは駅まで歩きました。

I requested a tour of the Okinawa battle sites in Yomitan Village. Because a local person guided us, we were able to visit all the sites, and along the way, they shared stories about the battle and their personal experiences related to it. This made for a much deeper learning experience about the Okinawa battle than I had anticipated. It became a valuable opportunity that cannot be measured by price. Thank you so much to our guide!!

I experienced it during the rainy season in June, but it was still a time when it hadn't rained much. It seemed to be a period when the river's water level was lower than usual, and it felt like the boat was hitting the riverbed. We wrapped up after 1 hour and 45 minutes from the scheduled time. In the rapids, you might get wet. It was a hot day, but it was a bit cooler on the river, and I enjoyed hearing various historical stories. However, it is mandatory to present a voucher, and if you haven't printed it, you'll need to pay 50 yen to have it printed. At that time, the guide mentioned that if you use another ticket site accessible from the official website, printing is not necessary, which was a bit disappointing.

6月の梅雨に入ったけれどまだ然程雨の降っていない時期に体験しました。
通常より川の水が少ない時期のようで、川底に船があたるのような状況でした。予約時間から1時間45分で解散でした。
急流のあたりでは水に濡れることもあります。
暑い日でしたが、川の上は少し涼しく、さまざまな歴史の話などもあり楽しめました。
ただバウチャーの提出が必須で、印刷していないと50円で印刷してもらう必要があります。その際に、案内の方から公式サイトからいけるもう一つのチケットサイトであれば印刷不要であると情報があり、少し残念な気持ちになりました。

The whitewater rafting was thrilling and better than the rafting in Wakayama.

I was surprised to see so many soft-shelled turtles along the river!

Two hours flew by in no time. The breathtaking views of the Hozu River were amazing, and the guides were so much fun; I really enjoyed it. The level of thrill varies depending on the water level, but I believe the guides will keep the atmosphere lively no matter what. Masks are essential, but since eating and drinking are allowed, I was able to hydrate without hesitation. As we approached Arashiyama, a boat loaded with delicious treats came by, and I couldn't help but indulge in some dango. This time, it was all about the fresh greenery, so next time, I want to go see the autumn leaves.

あっという間の二時間。保津川の絶景はもちろん、船頭さんたちのガイドも楽しく、本当に楽しかった。水嵩次第で、スリルの程度は変わりますが、どんな時でも、船頭さんさんたちが盛り上げてくださると思います。マスクは必須だと思いますが、飲食自由なので、水分補給は遠慮なくできました。嵐山に近づいた頃に美味しいものを積んだ船が寄ってきて、ついうっかり、お団子を食べてしまいました。今回、新緑だったので、今度は、紅葉を見に行きたいです。

I thought it would shake a lot since it travels at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, similar to that of a highway, but it hardly shook and the ride was comfortable. Upon researching, I found out that it utilizes Boeing's latest technology to minimize shaking.

時速80キロと高速道路並みのスピードで飛ばすのでさぞかし揺れるだろうと思っていたが、ほとんど揺れず乗り心地がいい。
調べてみるとボーイング社の最新技術を使い、揺れない工夫がされているそう。

The weather was great, and I had a lot of fun. The boatmen communicated well and made sure we didn't get bored. Thank you very much! The dinosaur tree was hilarious!

I went in mid-May. The fresh greenery and the refreshing breeze from the river were pleasant. I also wanted to see the changes of each season. I will go again. They were helpful in allowing me to change to an earlier river cruise, one hour before my reservation at the ticket counter!

5月中旬に乗りました。新緑と爽やかな川面の風で心地良かったです。四季それぞれの変化も見たくなりました。また行きますね。窓口で予約より1時間早い川下りに変更も直前に受け付けてくださり、助かりました！

The rain from the previous day had cleared, and the weather on the day was cloudy with occasional sunshine. It was neither too hot nor too cold, making for a comfortable experience on the Hozu River boat ride. Since we were seated in the front row, we could clearly hear the fun stories from the boatman, which added to the enjoyment. The only downside was the murkiness of the water due to the rain the day before. I would love to visit during the cherry blossom season and the autumn foliage season as well.

前日の雨もあがり当日は曇り時々晴れ。
暑くもなく寒くもなく快適な保津川下りを体験できました。
最前列席だったので船頭さんの楽しい話もしっかり聞けて楽しさ増々でした。
前日が雨だったので水の濁りが唯一の残念項目。
桜の季節、紅葉の季節にも来てみたいと思いました。

I took the ferry that departed from Fukue Port at 16:50 and arrived in Nagasaki at 20:00. It was cloudy, so I was disappointed that I couldn't see the sunset from the ship, but I was able to relax and enjoy the sea while soaking in the afterglow of the Goto Islands. It was nice to see the night view of Nagasaki from the sea as we entered Nagasaki Port.

福江港を16:50出港、長崎20:00到着のフェリーに乗りました。
曇りだったので船から夕陽を見る事ができなかったのが残念でしたが、五島列島の余韻に浸りながら海を眺めてゆったり過ごせました。
長崎港に入る時は長崎の夜景を海から見られて良かったです。
