Honolulu Re-visited

Very Informative

Pearl Harbor Tour
Reviewed by: C Latham, 2012/12/09Other than having my camera stolen at our pick up point, the tour was wonderful and our tour guide was most informative. We learned much more than we would have had we gone out there by ourselves. The tour of Honolulu was also very interesting and, again, our tour guide was most informative.

I was with a family member in a wheelchair- he was very patient and attentive.
Bus was very comfortable.
The tour was good- I loved the stop at Hilo Hattie's. The Arizona Memorial was the highlight- very moving and such a part of my family history.

Pearl Harbour & Grand Circle Tour

Excellent
Reviewed by: Aimee, 2012/03/31Mario was an excellent bus/tour driver! I would definitely recommend getting a longer tour that allows for the USS Missouri tour. A Sunday tour was the best - least amount of traffic, which allowed for more time at Pearl Harbor. Mario also allowed us out of the bus to take pictures at the King Kamehameha statue.

A must for all visitors!
Reviewed by: BigDaddy, 2009/03/12Please go and pay your respects! Tour bus picks you up and tells you how everything goes. We got right in when on some days you must wait an 1 or so. There's a short film before you are boated over to the memorial. It's awe inspiring.
Our drive was a cocky know it all rude person. Well, at least he thought he knew it all. He really sounded uneducated and told us things we did not need to hear. He also took about 12 cig breaks.
Overall great price and pretty good service.

Pearl Harbor Tour

Our tour guide, who was also our bus driver, did a great job explaining how the tour would be conducted, getting our large group lined up in order, and seeing that we all gained entrance to the tour together. The one thing that I did not care for was the tour guide's advice about who to vote for in the American presidential election. It reduced his tip by 50%.

AZ Memorial and City Tour
Reviewed by: M & B, 2008/06/30Just beware that the tour may last longer than the promised 12:30 return time. I was very worried when our tour guide told us that the previous day they hadn't even entered the AZ Memorial until 11:00 and that we may not get back until after 2pm. It turned out that it all worked out and, fortunately, we got in an early tour. The tour was nice and we really enjoyed the City Tour, which we weren't really expecting!

One drawback - necessary time limitations; if you really want to be leisurely about the visit, tour the museum using the audio guide ($5 price, not part of Hawaiiactivities.com), shop the store at your pace, etc., it may be better to drive yourself to the site. If that's not your objective, then this tour is perfect. The tour of Honolulu afterward was very enjoyable, giving bits of history and current news.

A very sobering experience
Reviewed by: Bryan, 2008/02/08The navy treats the arizona memorial as a cemetary, and most of the guests do the same. Some people feel the need to ruin it for everyone else by talking loudly, but besides them, there is a definate feeling of patriotism onboard the memorial. The city tour was fact filled and interesting.

Arizona Memorial always Good
Reviewed by: bj, 2007/11/26We were picked up at a hotel very near ours, easy to find. We had a large comfortable bus. The bus driver provide great commentary during the drive to the Arizona. The Arizona memorial is always awesome. This is my third time, my families first. Great video presentation and museum prior to the boat ride.
Tour of the City afterwards was great and we took the option to be dropped off at Hilo Hatties. Great Hawaiian Store.

It was fun!

It was our first day on the island and a great chance to see things without getting lost. We took time later to visit some places again, but had the history (as presented by our driver) to help us understand it all. Thanks for a great tour!!

Arizona Memorial and City Tour

very informative - even telling us not to jay walk because
Honolulu accessed a $92 fine for doing so.
We had an excellent narration the entire time we were on the
bus and, it goes without saying, the Memorial is well worth
going to see. Very touching.
He returned us to our point of origin as scheduled.
