North Shore
Every single presentation was excellent! Kap on the Samoan stage was fabulous, entertaining and funny! Great artwork too. Enjoyed the Fiji one also, especially noting that the missionaries led them to Christ and then their idols were torn down! Learned about ancestral New Zealand which I didn’t know the name of, bur I do now! While we did not really have a guide as expected, there were always people to show us the next move when we appeared lost! The luau was good, our first ever. And enjoyed hearing the music of Wahine Elua - very good!
The theater production after the Luau was impressive too! Super talent on display, especially the spectacular fire dancer and her team! WOW!
The service was great. The hosts were so friendly. The drinks were delicious. The scenery was beautiful. I definitely recommend this event.
The whole experience at the center was amazing, but the food at the Gateway Buffet was absolutely faaaaaaaaantastic! What a great way to spend the day in Hawaii, and see so many different aspects of the many Polynesian cultures that are featured at the center. Also, the evening show is a definite must-see for anyone who comes to Oahu!
Very well organized experience, we felt very welcome as well.
It was quite interesting to discover new cultures.
The HA breath of life show was a hit!! we really enjoyed culture center a lot. On the way, the scenery is great also.
Overall great experience of hawaiian culture.
All 6 villages, all helpful staff and then great food in the end. And ending it with cultural show snd fire show
Not too big so you can easily experience all the different Island Cultures and activities in 5 or 6 hrs. The Gateway Buffet has a lot of variety and has quality food, including desserts. The Ha; Breath of Life performance is outstanding.
Really enjoyed our visit
The full day was filled with so much history, we felt lucky we chose this event on our vacation!
From the beginning to the end you truly feel like you are part of the family. The host has such a love for Hawaiian history and the desire to preserve every ounce of it. What a beautiful display of culture. The meal was more then anyone could hope for. If time would have permitted we definitely would have attended again.
Aloha Bert and Theresa! Mahalo for writing us this review. We're delighted that you enjoyed the luau and felt welcomed. Hope to see you again the next time you're on the island! Mahalo!
Fun day and a good wrap with the show and delicious dinner!
Hands down would do again! The luau was amazing, and everyone was so kind and worked so hard to put on an amazing show. We also got to swim in the falls which was amazing. Definitely recommend! If you're reading this, just book it. You won't regret it. It was also kid friendly. I took my 1 year old and everyone loved
him and took extra effort to involve him in the cultural activities.
Aloha Courtney and mahalo for leaving us this review and for sharing a very cute pic of your kid! Looks like she had fun husking the coconut. We're glad that you guys enjoyed your time at the luau. Mahalo for the recommendation, we truly appreciate it! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Mahalo nui loa!
The show was super entertaining! 10/10.
The food was fantastic and they don’t let you go hungry :). 10/10
The bar drinks were disappointing. We each had 2 and none were drinkable. 1/10
Aloha Noah and mahalo for this review! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed the show and the food at the luau. We're really sorry about the drinks, we'll inform the team and try to make it better. Hopefully we'd see you again the next time you're on the island! Mahalo!
Really great evening and full day as well. full of island culture!
I had a great experience there. The people are awesome and talented and kind.
I had alot of fun and I'm so glad I was able to have that experience. I would recommend it to my family and friends.
The Luau was good. The Kalua pork was amazing. The plating could have been better. The staff were very friendly and nice.
Aloha Yvonne and mahalo for this review! We're happy that you had a good experience with us at the luau and enjoyed the food. Visit us again! Mahalo!
Easy booking and easy check in. Recommand to book early guys, do not wait to purchase at the gate, will regret.
Great place for kidss
Very interactive
Had a special feel to it.
Enjoyed the knowledge I got from each pavilion
Great show, solid food, mixed drinks good, interactive displays fun. We got the gold package which was nice, but silver would have been almost as good. It's awesome that the botanical garden tickets were included with the show tickets. Get there early to get parking otherwise it fills up fast. The entertainers put in a lot of effort and they have some great skills.
Aloha K. C.! We're glad that you enjoyed the show, food, and drinks at the luau. We're grateful that you took your time to leave us this review and to share your experience with us to the community. Hope we'd see you again! Mahalo!
It was the first time taking my family to PCC and they enjoyed learning about the different islands and cultures. It was a fun and filled with hands on activities for any one of any age to participate in. The buffet had a lot of food to offer and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We were initially seated in the back but we had two members in our family with mobility issues and they promptly reseated us closer to the food. The show Ha was great. I have never seen a woman Samoan fire dancer and she was phenomenal.
All the tours were awesome but the Ha Breath of Life was a great way to end the day!
The villages were quite a treat! Quite personal, few crowds, and thoroughly educational & entertaining!
The buffet dinner had many choices, but we were not too happy with the quality of the main dishes; beef was of low quality, somewhat tough, & often cold by the time it got to our table; chicken was again of poor quality & soaked in unusual sauces; fish likewise. Would prefer less choices & better quality! Service was good.
This tour was truly a full day adventure! I am so happy I visited the PCC and took the time to learn more about Hawaiian culture. The family and I loved the Luau!
This luau was wonderful! Dinner was great, the service was well executed and we learned so much about the Polynesian culture. The show was awesome! Very talented performers who made it so much fun for everyone in attendance! This is a definite yes!!
Aloha MStein and mahalo for leaving us this review! We're happy to hear that you had a wonderful experience and dinner at the luau. We're glad that you enjoyed the show. Hope you'd visit us again soon! Mahalo!
Great! Great! Great! Great! Great! Great! Great! Great! Great!
Aloha Dan and mahalo for this review! We're glad that you had a Great! Great! Great! Great! Great! experience at the luau, lol! Visit us again soon. Mahalo!
If I get the opportunity to come back 2,3,4 times, I’d do it. Enjoyed my time here!
I lived in Hawaii, and have been to PCC several times. I love it every time I go. Whenever I have a newcomer to Hawaii, I take them there or recommend it to them and I recommend it to you all. Also, I advise getting the Luau and show package for the whole experience.
We chose this luau because of the beautiful setting in the Waimea Valley. Would recommend getting to the North Shore early in the day, spend some time at Waimea Bay then tour the Park and Falls before the luau. Much better to experience this cultural experience in such a stunning, natural setting. We had our teenage son and daugher with us and our mother and everyone had a great time. The family and staff work hard, wearing a variety of hats throughout the evening-serving dinner, running the lawn activities, and of course performing a large variety of authentic dances and music. The host is genuine and the food was very good. Everything tastes authentic and high quality. The whole operation was enjoyable, I even enjoyed the lawn activities more than I expected. We reviewed many luaus on Oahu and are very glad we chose this one.
Aloha LJT and mahalo for taking the time to write us this review and for sharing your experience at the luau. Mahalo for the recommendation, we appreciate it! We're glad that you enjoyed your time at the luau and had fun exploring the gardens and the waterfall. Hope we'd see you again the next time you're on the island! Mahalo nui loa!
This was my 2nd time visiting PCC, 16 years ago was my 1st visit. Nice to see Chief Kap is still there and still has many talents. A lot has changed, the Breath Of Life show was spectacular. The fire dance was amazing. The students that work there, every single one I came across were so pleasant and helpful. Everyone had a big smile and go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable. If you haven’t been to any luaus in Oahu, I’d suggest PCC. Hands down the best one on the island. Mahalo!
Was so impressed with the overall layout of the PCC. Upon arrival there are restrooms, water refill stations. Shops selling lots of good value and different styles of gifts. We started with a ride on the canoe through the villages , the guide was knowledge and told us about the fifferent countries also very interactive with the younger children. We visited as many villages as possible , experienced aspects of their culture through dance, craft or food. It is clear to see the young peoples love of their countries and culture. The buffet was way beyond my expectations, proper dining experience, we were able to taste all foods and it was self service, chicken, beef pork, fish, rice, noodles, salads and so many desserts the list goes on. Very disappointed to see people wasting so much food, piling plates with too much food, especially when the culture of the Polynesian people is to value food and not waste food. We were thanked for supporting the PCC, the monies raised support the students to study and return to their countries to improve the lives of others. Would highly recommend great day out
We did the Admission only package, which is great for families with young kids. It rained the entire day but it was still fun and we enjoyed the experience. We were able to follow our own schedule and still head over the see the different villages even if we were not on the presentation schedule. The boat ride was a highlight for my kids and the giudes were very safety-oriented and made sure everyone was engaged in the narration.
The canoe ride ended on the other side of the park, with walkable access to the villages of Fiji, French Polynesia (Tahiti), and Hawaii. We were able to play some of the games and even check out some of the historical village buildings.
Don't forget to check out their very own large sailing canoe that was built by the staff and students who work at the Polynesian Cultural Center and BYU in La'ie. Ask about its story - it's truly remarkable.
The visit to PCC was very much worth doing during our trip. I highly recommend Polynesian Cultural Center!
