It's much cheaper than doing it in Japan (in Japan, tandem skydiving costs around 30,000 yen), and since it was my first time, I thought it would be cooler to say I went skydiving in Hawaii rather than just sightseeing. I'm not particularly afraid of heights, so I thought I would be fine jumping from a realistic height like bungee jumping, but I was naive... As the plane kept climbing higher, I started to get nervous, thinking it was too much altitude. I had made up my mind, but as my turn approached, I found myself frozen with fear. Despite that, like a conveyor belt, the instructor guided me, and I unexpectedly dove into the vast sky! I can't remember what I was shouting (maybe "Mom?"), but aside from that, an incredible feeling surged within me. I couldn't tell if the flying time was short or long, and then we landed. I staggered over to my friend, who landed around the same time, and we were both super excited! Despite looking a bit messy with runny noses and tears, we kept exclaiming how amazing it was. I feel like my perspective on life has changed. I highly recommend everyone to try it!

I made the reservation for my father and mother who accompanied me. (My children and I were on a separate schedule.) At the destination, there was a counter at the hotel where we stayed, and they kindly assisted us, allowing my elderly father and mother to join the tour with peace of mind. They seemed very satisfied, saying the show was beautiful and fun. The seats during the show were about the 10th row from the front, which provided an impressive experience. However, they mentioned that the meal time was about an hour and felt a bit rushed, as they would have liked to enjoy it a little longer. The bus pick-up for the hotel was around 4:30 PM, and they expressed that it could have been 30 minutes earlier. However, they also mentioned that there was a guide on the bus going there, and they were able to enjoy a mini sightseeing tour. Overall, they seemed satisfied and enjoyed the tropical atmosphere! Mahalo!!

Since we left the hotel around noon, I planned to finish my errands in the morning before joining, but I ended up cutting it close to the meeting time. I was really panicking. Fortunately, the shuttle bus was a bit late, which helped a lot. Taking a taxi to the Polynesian Cultural Center would have been quite expensive...
After arriving, a guide accompanied us around the park. Since I participated in the deluxe course, there were fewer people in the group, making it easier to hear the explanations. We learned hula, got stamp tattoos, and tried some taro dishes, although they weren't very tasty.
Dinner was a buffet. The food was just okay. The most impressive part was definitely the show! It was incredibly powerful, and although the show itself was quite long, I never got bored. (There was a break in between as well.) Since we returned late, I slept soundly on the bus, but it was a very enjoyable tour!

On the bus ride there, the Japanese guide shared various stories, creating a bit of a sightseeing atmosphere. When we arrived at the cultural center, we split into groups to explore.
The performances and talks in the Samoan village were enjoyable even for someone like me who doesn't understand English. If you sit in the front row, you'll be pulled onto the stage, so feel free to do that if you want to stand out. I watched the IMAX show, which was somewhat interesting regarding dolphin behavior, but it felt like something you could skip.
The evening show exceeded all expectations. It's understandable that many people come to see it, even if it takes them an hour and a half to get there. I had a front-row seat in the deluxe course, which made it even more impressive.

I had been to the Polynesian Cultural Center several times, but since it was my friend's first visit, I definitely wanted to show it to them, so I took them along. If you're short on time, you might end up going to a show in Waikiki, but this place is absolutely worth taking the time to visit. It's amazing no matter how many times you see it. My friend was completely captivated and said they were glad we came. I definitely recommend it to anyone I know who is going to Hawaii.

The food was a buffet. There were quite a variety of options, and the desserts were plentiful. The taste was just okay, though.
We had seats fairly close to the stage. By the way, we participated in the deluxe option. The evening show was more amazing than I had imagined, and there was hardly any time to rest while watching. Just when I thought that, there was an intermission, and I quickly went to get the dessert voucher that had been distributed earlier. To my surprise, what I received was a bowl made from a halved pineapple filled to the brim with ice cream. Plus, it was one for each person. It was delicious, but I still couldn’t finish it...
Since it was an outdoor show, the scale was large, and there were quite a few performers. The fire dance was impressive and definitely worth watching. I highly recommend going at least once. Although the Polynesian Cultural Center is quite far, I slept soundly on the bus ride back. If I go to Hawaii again, I want to see that show once more!

I went to the Polynesian Cultural Center because I thought it was important to learn about history. I expected it to be mostly shows, but the facilities were well-equipped, and I was surprised at how well everything was recreated. It felt similar to Nikko Edo Wonderland in Japan. I gained a good understanding of Hawaii's history, which is not something you can easily learn about nowadays.
As for the food, it was surprisingly delicious for a buffet. The shrimp and fish were particularly tasty, and I felt like I could get full just from those. There was also a good selection of desserts, which made my partner very happy. I saw the main show for the first time, and there were a lot of cast members on stage, showcasing various dance performances like hula and fire dancing, which were quite impressive. I was a bit worried about the seating since we had the standard course, but the stage was large and there were many performers, so I was able to enjoy it fully. However, it was quite far from Waikiki, so I got pretty sleepy on the way back. If you want to experience the feeling of being in Hawaii right away, this might be a great place to visit.
