This was my first time participating. The buffet had a limited selection, but almost everything was delicious! The roast beef wasn't tender, so if you're looking forward to that, it might be a bit disappointing... The two-person tables were really cramped, and the tablecloths felt a bit cheap.

I chose the reception plan, but the view from our window side was mostly land (the opposite side had the sea and the buffet line). The photos turned out to be great keepsakes. The sparkling wine got chilled towards the end, and it seemed fine to order a bottle on the day. The cake was three-quarters whipped cream and one-quarter sponge, so I couldn't eat much of it, which was a mistake. (I’m really sorry for leaving it.)

About 30 minutes before the fireworks, everyone went outside to watch. The fireworks were quite far away. It was windy outside at times, but I didn't feel any rocking of the boat that day. A woman played music and sang throughout, and after we finished eating, a few male and female dancers took turns performing.

The restroom was down a staircase in the basement, but it was very spacious. I didn't have a chance to give a tip before it ended. I used the shuttle service, and the three-digit number on the sticker we received at the meeting point was the number for the return bus.

30分前にはみんな花火を見るため外に出てました、花火はかなり遠いです。外、風は強い時ありました。船の揺れはこの日は全く感じなかったです。
1人の女性がずっと演奏しながら歌ってて、食べ終わった後は、数人の男女のダンサーが代わるがわる一通り踊ってくれます。
トイレは地下に階段で降りますがすごい広かったです。
チップは渡すタイミングなく終わりました。
送迎を利用しましたが、最初に集合場所でもらうシールに書いてある3桁の番号が帰りのバスの番号でした。

This was my third time on the Star of Honolulu. I have wonderful memories from my childhood, and I also used it for my honeymoon, but this time I wanted my children to experience it as well.

Like this, I think there are fewer restaurants in Hawaii with dress codes compared to before, and there are fewer opportunities to enjoy a meal in a stylish, luxurious setting, so I believe it's a valuable experience. The steak and lobster (one per person) were as delicious as I expected. I definitely recommend the course over the buffet, and the Three Star is highly recommended.

The service was also excellent. I believe it will be an unforgettable experience for a lifetime. Next time, I hope my children will be grown up and bring someone special with them.

Check-in was at 5 PM, and we were given three drink tickets per person and shown to our seats. Although the front row was fully booked at the time of reservation and we had the basic plan, we were seated at a two-person table on the edge of the third row, which had a good view. The waiters came by at just the right times to take drink orders and even offered to take photos, providing a pleasant service experience. At the end, the two leftover drink tickets were exchanged for cute paper packs of mineral water to take home.

During the time from check-in to the show, we observed the making of kapa and poi. The kapa-making demonstration had a bit of a line, but it was organized into small groups, and even if you didn't understand English, it was fun to see the cute hula girls up close. There was no making of na lawaia, but instead, there was a corner where they stamped your arm with a tattoo-like design. The show was scheduled to start at 7 PM, but in reality, singing and hula began around 6 PM and ended by 8:40 PM. It was nice that we could take photos with the performers at the end. Compared to the Hilton show I attended previously, the stage was smaller, but at the Hilton, there were a lot of people, leading to long lines for check-in, a buffet-style meal with more waiting, and shared large tables. Personally, I found this experience to be more satisfying.

As part of our honeymoon, we took a dinner cruise. It was a bit windy that day, and the boat was rocking, which made me worried at first, but I gradually got used to it. We chose the three-star meal. The main course was a luxurious feast of lobster and steak. The lobster was difficult to peel, but if you ask, they will help you with it. On July 19th, during our trip to Hawaii, my family and I (a party of 12) attended the Waikiki Luau with All-You-Can-Eat Buffet, Fire Dance & Rock-A-Hula. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing experiences of our trip.

From the start, the event felt more like a tourist trap than a cultural celebration. The performers wore plastic grass skirts and danced on astroturf, which cheapened the experience and made it feel like a stylized imitation rather than a tribute to Hawaiian tradition.

The buffet was just as underwhelming. The meats were dry and chewy, and several of us left our meals half-eaten. We all ended up searching for food elsewhere after the show.

When purchasing tickets, we noted that they included premier seating for the show—something we specifically chose so the younger members of our group could engage and see the performance clearly. However, we were seated near the back with no explanation. The seating appeared entirely random, and there was no effort to honor the premier designation.

The show itself was bizarre. It was supposedly a journey through Hawaiian music and culture, but the execution was confusing. While we expected an Elvis tribute, it felt like a full concert with song after song. Then came a Michael Jackson impersonator performing Thriller and several other full-length songs. We learned during the show that he once performed at Aloha Stadium, but the connection felt forced and irrelevant. A few of us dozed off, while others sat in disbelief trying to make sense of it.

The performance dragged on far too long. With a tighter runtime and focus on authentic Hawaiian culture, it could have been enjoyable. The fire dancer was the highlight, but came too late to redeem the evening.

Overall, this luau was inauthentic, overpriced, and not worth it. We wouldn’t recommend it.

The various workshops and experience events, such as lei making, really captured the Polynesian atmosphere and were enjoyable. My child was delighted to take pictures with a parrot.

The show was very authentic, featuring not only female dancers but also male hula dancers, and we enjoyed both traditional dances from various countries (hula kahiko and Tahitian 'ote'a) and contemporary dances (hula 'auana and Tahitian aparima). The dancers were very skilled, and it was not just a show dance but truly impressive. The hosts, singers, and backing musicians were also wonderful, and the food was delicious, making it a very memorable luau experience.

Although the entire presentation was in English and there was no Japanese support, I felt that using a translation app would solve any issues.

司会、歌手、バックミュージシャンの皆様も素晴らしく、お料理も美味しく、とても思い出に残るルアウ体験となりました。
