The ship was packed with activities that kept us entertained! I thought I would be fine, but even on such a large and impressive ship, I felt a floating sensation that made me wonder how it would turn out. However, I took a chance and asked if they had any motion sickness medication, and they readily provided it. They suggested mixing it with ginger ale, which I did. I’m grateful for that because it really helped!

As for the meals, well... I can't say they were very delicious! The roast beef was tough as well.

大丈夫！と思っていた船酔いがいくら大きい立派な船でもフワフワ浮遊感がし、どうなることかと思ったのですが、一か八かで酔い止めあるか聞いた所すんなりもらえ、ジンジャエールと飲むといい！と言われのみました。

Very Nice and Relaxing Voyage

All of the staff on the boat, from the Captain to the servers were all very nice, accommodating and service minded. Joshua did a great job answering questions and adding nuggets of knowledge about the trip. The ship was in great condition and prepared for the cruise, and it made for a very relaxing and comfortable voyage.

Unfortunately, we didn’t see any whales on this tour, but as a fisherman, I understand the difference between fishing and catching, and sometimes the fish just aren’t cooperating and ya just need to relax and enjoy the beauty. But, the most important thing is, as Larry Fleet says in the song “Where I Find God”, “you can’t find Peace Like this in a bottle or a pill”.

I would do this trip again in a heartbeat, and if we see a whale, that would just be lagniappe!

However, I was disappointed with the buffet food... Since I paid a decent amount, I had high expectations for the meal, so personally, I found it disappointing.

From the boat, I could enjoy the urban skyline of Waikiki alongside the natural beauty of Diamond Head, which truly felt like a Hawaiian landscape. We participated with four adults and a 0-year-old and a 3-year-old, bringing a foldable stroller. The elevator was available, so moving to the deck was not an issue, but we couldn't change diapers (we used the stroller to do so). The stroller was necessary for our subsequent plans, but we could leave our belongings at the table we were initially guided to, so it was great that it didn't get in the way while watching the whales.

I believe seeing the whales was purely luck, but in February, we were able to see them well! Fortunately, two whales swam back and forth quite close to the surface multiple times, allowing us to capture them with our eyes, not just on video or in photos. The captain announced in English, "They're at 10 o'clock!" or "9 o'clock!" and we moved based on that and hints from those around us. There was one person who could speak a little Japanese, so for those who are not confident in English, it might be a good idea to stick with that person. By the way, my family also saw dolphins and turtles... I'm envious!

On the way there and back, we had English-speaking guides. Both were cheerful individuals. Especially on the way back, they were flexible, changing our drop-off location and accepting requests for unscheduled stops. The tour ended before noon, and I was thinking about going to Ala Moana Shopping Center afterward, but I was unsure how to get there. However, since it was possible to get off the bus along the way, I wanted to make good use of that... but due to various circumstances, we ended up getting off at our hotel.

I want to come back again when the kids are older!

鯨は完全に運だとは思いましたが、流石に2月！しっかり会えました。たまたま2頭が結構近くの海面を何度も行ったり来たりしてくれたお陰で、ビデオや写真だけに追われず肉眼でも捉える事ができて、ラッキーでした！船長さんが、10時にいるよ！とか9時方向だ！とか英語でアナウンスしてくれるのと、周りの人をヒントに移動しました。お一人、日本語が少し話せる方もいたので、英語苦手な方はその方にくっついていくのもありかもです。
ちなみに、私の家族はイルカとカメも見たとの事…羨ましい

行き帰りは英語のガイドさん。行きも帰りも、陽気な方達でした。特に帰りは、降りる場所を変更してくれたり、予定外の停車場所もリクエスト受け付けてくれたりと、臨機応変に対応していました。ツアーが昼前に終わるので、その後はアラモアナショッピングセンターでと考えていましたが、どうやって行くか悩んでいました。でも、バスの途中下車が可能との事でこちらを上手く活用…したかったのですが、色々あって結局自分達のホテルで降りました。

子供が大きくなったらまた来てあげたいです！

It was rainy, but thanks to that, it wasn't too hot, and I was able to look for whales from the deck.

お迎えの車中ではガイドさんがエリアや観光についてたくさん話して下さり、移動も楽しかったです。

船では美味しいオリジナルケーキとコーヒーが出港前に食べられるので、朝ごはん代わりになりました。オリジナルのパイナップルバナナケーキはしっとりしてて美味しかったです。

ホエールウォッチングの最中は時計の方向でクジラがどこにいるかを教えてくれるので殆どの確率で何度かクジラを見ることが出来ます。

クジラだけではなくウミガメも近くで見ることが出来たのでとても幸運でした！

そして船上からの景色も素晴らしく、ダイヤモンドヘッドや水平線の美しさに感動しました。

The whales came to the surface and spouted water at intervals of about 10 to 15 minutes, so I enjoyed chatting with the foreign people next to me (although I only understood about one-third of the conversation).

I didn't feel much movement while the ship was moving, but when the ship was stopped during whale watching, there was some rocking, so I think those who are prone to seasickness might need motion sickness medication. When the ship returned to the port, there were a few people on board celebrating their birthdays, and everyone sang "Happy Birthday," which felt very international and was really nice.

We were able to participate with our small child, and it was a fun boat experience without any significant rocking of the boat. The interior of the boat was clean and spacious, providing a calm atmosphere along with light snacks and drinks.

At first, we had a brief explanation about whales on the first floor and enjoyed some snacks, after which we were free to move up to the fourth floor to look for whales and enjoy the view from the boat.

Although we weren't able to see any whales this time, we received a ticket to board again during this season. The crew members were all very kind, making for a delightful boat trip.

It was my first time in Hawaii, and I’m really glad I chose this place for dinner on Friday. The cruise lasted from just after 5 PM to just after 8 PM, and I opted for the three-course meal. The lobster in the course was, of course, delicious, and there was live music and a show throughout the cruise, making it lively and never boring.

Additionally, from the ship, I could see the sunset over Diamond Head, and after the sun went down, the night views of Honolulu and Waikiki were spectacular. Especially on Fridays, fireworks are launched from Waikiki Beach, offering an exceptional night view.

初めてのハワイでしたが、金曜日のディナーをこちらにして本当に良かったです。5時過ぎから8時過ぎまでのクルーズで、3スターコースにしました。コース料理のロブスターはもちろん美味しく、乗船の間はずっと生演奏とショーが行われており、にぎやかであきません。

The food taste good however was cold with exception to the pork and chicken thighs were hot, but sweet potatoes, noodles and rice were cold and we had Royal package and first in line to eat so I was surprised to have those few items cold, the rolls were so delicious so grab 2

On this day, the sky was completely covered with clouds and there was a strong wind. It started to rain midway, and by the time we disembarked, there was a full-blown storm. I wonder if it was the right decision to set sail in that weather. If asked whether I would like to go again, I would say I do not want to. Even if the weather were good, it seems there is a set distance from which you can approach the whales, so I think it would be difficult to actually see the whales themselves. We participated as a couple on our honeymoon.

Thanks to the favorable weather, the boat didn't sway, and we were able to enjoy the beautiful sea, as well as views of Waikiki and Diamond Head from the water.

As for the whales, we were able to see them several times during the trip. However, they were all quite far away, and we could only see a spout, a black back, and a bit of the tail fin. While I think it was great just to see them, I can't help but wish we could have seen them a little closer.

I have to say I really enjoyed the Chief's Luau! After I got past the fact that it was situated in a water park, and got to the actual venue, I was able to forget there was anything there but the Luau! The grounds and setting were lovely, and I had a beautiful view of the show. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the entertainment some of the best I've seen at a luau, and I've been to several. For authentic entertainment and a good experience, this one was great!!
