I signed up because the whale encounter rate was over 90%. The whales didn't appear for a while, and soon the observation deck was left with just a couple from China, an elderly couple from the West, and our group of six.
After about 45 minutes, the elderly couple spotted a whale and informed us, as we were busy taking photos! In the end, we were able to see three whales. It seemed like we only had about 15 minutes left to watch them, but at the last moment, one whale jumped out of the water with a splash.
On the way back, while I was gazing at the sea from the second deck, a sea turtle swam incredibly close to the boat. This was unexpectedly moving! 😊

We also saw dolphins and several large fish. If you want to see turtles, this is the snorkel for you... If you're looking for a close-up of tropical fish - go to a different site. Cruise is very comfortable and a great view of the Waikiki beach front.
