Oahu
At first, I was apprehensive about being on the boat... As someone who isn't good with thrill rides, I was worried about whether I could handle it. But once I got on...! I have never seen the streets of Hawaii from such a high vantage point! I was moved by the scenery that you can only see by doing this!! It was a bit scary being swayed by the wind (laughs), but I want to ride it again^^
Very beautiful and delivered in a great way! We were delayed by six hours, and when I called they were very accommodating. I would definitely use this service again...Mahalo
Both my husband and 10 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Although I struggled with motion-sickness (while waiting for our turn to go down), once I was underwater, what an amazing experience that was!! My 10-year old who had to stand (she is just little above 4 feet) didn't mind that at all. She really enjoyed the experience, and begged us to go back again. So we will do this again when we visit Oahu next time. Not far from the shore, but the nature was just magnificent. The way nature and animals peacefully coexist with humans just catalyzed our Hawaii experience, and this adventure was well worth the cost! The staff was also very professional, and knowledgeable. Only if they cautioned us about motion sickness earlier on ;-)
We have a family of 7 and everyone was extremely excited to go. 3 of us had experienced the Snuba back in March. It was awesome that the crew remembered us. We were treated exceptionally well. The crew sat with those that were a bit apprehensive about the Snuba and created a relaxed atmosphere and worked with them and made it just as enjoyable for them. It was awesome! We have two 12 year olds and they did a wonderful job. We saw Dolphins, turtles and tons of fish. We would recommend this adventure to anyone and would gladly do it again and again. Hats off to the crew!!
As someone who is not good at swimming, I was nervous until it started, but the instructor explained everything in Japanese, allowing me to have this first experience. It felt like a different world when fish came to eat the bait from my hand and beautiful fish swam right in front of me. Since I participated with my child, we were able to walk along the ocean floor together, which was very considerate. I am thrilled to have had such a wonderful experience.
The trip around the island was great I would highly recommend Veltra tours. The trip was made even better by our guide Bethany who was an endless wealth of knowledge, we did this trip2 years ago with another company and I can honestly say that we learnt 10 times more with your tour.
Aloha Karel,
We are so happy you had a great time. Our goal is conservation through education, So anytime we can share our enthusiasm and knowledge of our beautiful island we consider that a great success! We appreciate you taking the time to share your review here and hope we can take you on another adventure during your next visit to Oahu.

Very fun activity plus it is pretty quick and easy to fit in to the schedule! Highly recommend the 800ft length, you get a fuller experience. We had a fun crew, they take pictures on a Nikon camera, but ours turned out dark because of the shadow when the sun was rising. Great couples activity, nice alone time. Highly recommend to bring a gopro or camera with a wrist strap.
The was an awesome activity to do! My wife and I didn't want to go out and free swim with shark so this cage was perfect. We had a great crew that was nice, entertaining and took care of us. A very enjoyable time! A little tip is to go earlier in day because after about 9:30 or 10 the water starts to get rougher and rocks the boat more.
Parasailing with the kids! At first, I was nervous, but once we took off, the blue sky, blue sea, and magnificent scenery were breathtaking. I want to experience it again if I get the chance!
The weather was clear, so the sea was beautifully blue! I couldn't clearly spot the sea turtles, but the guide was calling out directions to everyone.
I was also impressed by the schools of fish while snorkeling! However, it was quite cold when we got out of the water, so a towel change is a must!
We are not used to traveling abroad, so we have a lot of worries. The main concerns were: 1) clothing, 2) belongings & luggage, 3) temperature, and 4) snorkeling. Additionally, I have some other thoughts.
1) Clothing
I wore a swimsuit with a rash guard on top and quick-drying pants that are 3/4 length. Long skirts were seen here and there. Even those in long pants were relaxed and free. There were various styles, including half shorts and hot pants, and some people wrapped towels around themselves. Most men wore knee-length swimsuits. On the way back, you can just lay down your towel and ride the bus as is. There are no designated changing areas, but you can change in the restroom.
2) Belongings & luggage
There is zero security. Rings and other small items can easily be lost, so newlyweds should be careful. There are no opportunities to use credit cards; cash for tips should suffice. You can store your belongings under the chairs, but seawater can drip from those sitting on the chairs, so they may get wet. Avoid fabric items. If you wrap your towel and change of clothes in plastic, you should be fine. I brought my passport but didn’t use it. I regretted not bringing a towel for the return bus, as it was very cold. With the air conditioning, I felt like I was in training with wet hair and a wet swimsuit. It was freezing. I went straight to the bath when I got back to the hotel.
3) Temperature
On June 13, it was sunny and perfect. It seems it was a bit cold at the sandbar a little while ago. This time of year is ideal, but it can get too hot later on, which can drain your energy due to direct sunlight.
4) Snorkeling
My 65-year-old mother did not participate and waited on the boat. I snorkeled for the first time. There were striped fish, but no colorful ones, and since there was no food, they didn’t come close, but I was satisfied. I think it lasted about 10 minutes, which was just right considering it was my first time and my mother was waiting alone on the boat. In addition to the life jackets provided to everyone, there was also a long floating stick. With the life jacket, I was able to relax and enjoy the underwater view.
That sums up my concerns and the results.
Regarding the flow after boarding, we stayed at the turtle spot and searched for turtles from the boat → arrived at the sandbar, got off and wandered around (taking photos individually and getting photos taken) → returned to the boat to prepare for snorkeling → moved to the snorkeling area. Since the boat doesn’t move, those who don’t snorkel can wander around the sandbar → snorkeling → return to the boat → lunch while heading back.
It’s best to board early. If there are many participants, good seats will be gone. The interior of the boat is recommended for those who don’t want to get sunburned. However, you can only see the sea from the sides and back of the boat. After snorkeling, I recommend returning to the boat without lingering. Everyone pays the same amount, and while we want to enjoy ourselves equally, others are others. No one will give up a good seat. Let’s enjoy ourselves while maintaining basic manners and asserting ourselves.
Turtles. They showed up here and there.
Restrooms. There are supposedly two on the boat, but I recommend using the ones at the port to avoid wasting time. They were cleaner than restrooms in Japanese stations or parks. We didn’t use the boat’s restroom, but unlike in Japan, they use a pump system for flushing, and paper should be disposed of in the trash.
Food and drink. Soft drinks were provided upon boarding. After snorkeling, we had sandwiches (ham and cheese) and about 7-8 pieces of something like Doritos, along with warm tea. I thought it was a bit shabby, but considering I had just swum for 10 minutes, the sandwiches and Doritos were delicious, especially since we could eat them casually on the boat. With many participants, I think it was best to have something we could sit down and eat calmly. The warm tea
As expected from Hanauma Bay, where regulations are well established, the number of fish was incredible. I've snorkeled several times in the beautiful waters of Okinawa, but it doesn't compare. Hanauma Bay is full of colorful fish whose names I don't know, including the Yagara. Unfortunately, I didn't encounter any sea turtles, but it's definitely a place I want to visit again. I hope to go before I get too old. Since I'm not very good at English, I really appreciated the guidance in Japanese. It allowed me to focus on observing the fish with peace of mind.
Noburin, thank you for joining our tour this time. When you come to Hawaii again, I hope we can be together at Hanauma Bay, and this time I would love to show you some cute sea turtles. I look forward to seeing you again.
We met Keola Nui at the North Shore Market Place, he introduced himself and let us know we would be the only ones on the hike that day. We could not have asked for a better guide. Nui was very knowledgeable about the land we were going to be hiking on, letting us know about the different farms along the road to the trail. He explained the history behind the current lay out of the farms. When we arrived at the trailhead, there was a light mist falling as Nui offered a prayer to the land in the native tongue to reassure it that we were there on peaceful terms. The trail itself was unbelievably beautiful. There were moments where we were complete enclosed in the jungle, then, it would open up to expose the sky and the mountain stream below. Again, Nui was very knowledgable about the flora and fauna, explaining the difference between the native and invasive plants. We encountered a few berries along the trail that we were able to sample, they tasted very much like raspberries. We hiked in for a couple of hours and ended up having lunch on some rocks in the middle of the stream, very cool!!! We then headed back, though there was much more to be seen, we were on a schedule and did not have the time to hike any further. When we had packed away our gear, Nui drove us the the Boy Scout Camp nearby to an absolutely incredible overlook...we did not want to leave!!! This is definitely a hike everyone should try, you'll learn so much about Oahu. Thank you Nui for a truly outstanding experience!!!
Thanks so much for your kind words! We're so happy you all enjoyed your hike!
The initial orientation took place in a room inside the ship, so I felt a bit nauseous since I couldn't see the scenery. However, about 30 minutes after going out on deck, I was able to see whales about four times. On the way back, I stayed out on the deck the whole time, and it was a great memory to see Diamond Head and the city of Waikiki from the sea.
Thank you very much for boarding with us. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you aboard again when you visit Hawaii.
Our family enjoyed the entire crew and had a fantastic time.
We gathered early in the morning while it was still dark. On the ship, the handsome crew entertained us with dancing and singing, but despite going without eating anything since the morning, we only received a single hamburger for lunch. There were no fruits as mentioned in the itinerary. In the end, there was no hula lesson after disembarking, and we were just taken back normally and dismissed. There was no information about the absence of the hula lesson. We returned to the hotel by noon. I felt it was questionable that, despite paying a high price to participate, the planned itinerary was not followed.
If your family is into the outdoors and adventure that is totally off the beat and path, book this tour. It is exclusive as the park is not accessible to the public. So you know, our family age ranges from 13 to 51. It was breathtaking- literally - not only from the views, but from the hiking. We hiked up the mountain trails crossing streams.
Our guides, Nui and Holly we very knowledgeable not only with the history but the plants and trees of the land.
The treat was to hike to a secluded pond and jump into the cool waters! Wow!
A bit of advice, wear comfortable shoes and water shoes are a must! Crossing the streams can be a bit challenging, as are some areas during the hike. Definitely grab a walking stick. It is about a 6 mile hike, 3 up and 3 back. All was about 6 hours.
Lunch is provided and we packed extra water. Nui and Holly were hands on assisting the entire hike. Awesome people! Mahalo!
Thanks so much Stoner family for joining Nui and I, it was great meeting you folks! I'm so glad you all had fun, we hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip!
Thanks again!
Holly :)
The Tornado slide was the best. The Shaka slide, which Mimura was most afraid of on "Moya Saba," has such an extreme angle that you can't see below. The BBQ steak is also recommended.
Very good experience had a great time, very good food, great crew
It was a so-called experiential horseback riding where we only walked at a trot along the side roads and through the coastal woodland, rather than riding at the polo field. The photo was taken while walking through the woodland, and we did not walk at all along the coastline.
I usually take riding lessons, so I thought I would be able to ride at the polo field by participating in this, but that wasn't the case. It was just a so-called experience ride, where we walked at a leisurely pace along the side roads and by the sea. I thought we could walk along the beach, but the waves were rough, and we couldn't get close. When I asked the guide (who seemed to be the youngest in a family business), she said it’s always rough there. The photos posted by Alan 1 were just taken on the beach for the purpose of photography. After it was over, I mentioned that I couldn't do any cantering, and I was told there is an advanced course that has a reservation for tomorrow, but since I was returning home the next day, I had to regretfully decline. It's a shame that Alan 1 didn't have that course available.
0ur family went to wet n wild today booked through hawaii activities.com.
Booking was very easy and helpful via a telephone call. Although our hotel was one of the pickups they were very prompt to let us know via email that this had changed to a hotel next door, no trouble to us at all.
Shuttle was great air conditioned bus that got us to wet n wild right on 10.30.
The person to meet us there was clear with instructions for re meeting up with the bus then we were free to explore the park.
With 2 children eager to drag us on every ride we were throughly thrilled and surprised on the selection of rides and were super happy tornado was open as we were expecting it to be closed for repairs.
Only thing about the park was not bringing in our own drinks as we are huge water drinkers but a small thing compared to the great fun had by all.
Our pickup was right on time and a brief sleep on bus and we were back at our destination.
Thanx wet n wild and hawaii activities
.
We loved snorkeling at Hanauma Bay! We could see fish all around us in waist-deep water, and even though it was busy, there was plenty of space to have our own experience. The food in the snack bar was good (although a little pricey), and I liked that we could rent life jackets and stoppers for our snorkels from the company once we got there. Just make sure you bring extra money for the entrance fee, tram (it saves a lot of uphill walking), equipment rental, and food. You can also bring food on the beach, so pack some snacks and water to save some cash.
The program picks you up around 8:30 AM from major hotels in Waikiki via a private large bus. You will depart at 2:30 PM and return to your original hotel.
It takes about 30 minutes to Sea Life Park, enjoying the coastal scenery along Diamond Head and Coco Marina, so it wasn't a burden even with children.
At the Dolphin Encounter, there is a pre-explanation for Japanese visitors by Japanese staff as soon as you enter (the activities will be in English). The changing room is spacious, so changing is not an issue, but the showers afterward do not have hot water, so bringing a larger bath towel to dry off properly might be necessary as it could be a bit cold.
With about eight people in one group, the time spent playing with the dolphins felt shorter compared to my previous experience in Mexico, and I found it a bit lacking.
You can enter the space in front of the pool with a stroller, so while my wife watched our 0-year-old, I took photos and videos from there. The entire Sea Life Park is stroller-friendly, so if you're unsure, I think it's better to bring one.
After the activities, there are dolphin shows, a turtle pool, children's play equipment, and souvenir shops, which provide plenty of time to kill before the return bus.
For meals, there are light snacks like hot dogs and pizza. However, many of the hot dogs are spicy, so caution is needed as they might be too hot for children.
I came to Hawaii for the first time on my honeymoon. I participated in various activities in Hawaii, but I was most looking forward to Wet 'n' Wild. I entered right at 10:30 when it opened. I rented a locker at the locker reception in the park. There were two sizes, small and large, but a small one was sufficient for the luggage of two people. The first ride I went on was a six-person rubber boat that slides down while spinning around (it was probably one of the scariest attractions). You can't ride it with fewer than three people, so I joined a local family, and it was an exciting attraction that made even the parents feel like kids again.
The boat goes up to dangerous angles that you can't experience in Japan, so I recommend strengthening your grip before going to avoid being thrown out of the boat! (laughs) Also, the "Shaka," a half-pipe style two-person slide, drops almost vertically from about the third floor of a building! It's super thrilling! The other slides made me want to ride them three or four times in a row, and I truly enjoyed the whole day.
However, right after opening, some slides were still on break. Also, it can get surprisingly cold when it's cloudy, so I was really glad there was a jacuzzi available. A review I read was helpful: since the ground gets really hot from the sun, flip-flops are a must!

I thought there would be a completely sandy beach, but at the shallowest point, it was only about knee-deep. The pure white sand and the blue sea were very beautiful, and I was able to take some amazing photos. I was able to see not only sea turtles but also manta rays! It was truly a wonderful view.
Waikiki has a completely different atmosphere. Riding in the great outdoors was very refreshing. I was nervous before getting on the horse, but it seemed well-trained, and my anxiety disappeared shortly after I started riding. I enjoyed the beautiful nature while taking photos!
I wanted to see the filming locations for Jurassic Park and Lost, so I chose the 2-hour course this time, but I started to get a bit bored in the second half. One hour felt too short, while two hours felt a bit too long. In the latter part, I started to feel pain in my legs, probably because I was using muscles I don't usually use.
However, I was able to have an experience that I definitely can't have in Japan, and I'm satisfied!
Our snorkel guide Dan was amazing. I can't swim and he was able to take me out to the deep! He was very patient. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed his tour of hanauma bay, it was definitely a highlight of our trip and even fulfilled one of my bucket list things to do. I will never forget the experience and recommend it highly. Also a huge bonus is Dan takes underwater pics of you snorkeling and post them up on his Facebook - free of charge!
Hi guys, glad you enjoyed. Hope to see you again.
Dan
We had a great experience on this dinner cruise. The entertainment was outstanding and the firework show was just the icing on top. The waitress and staff went beyond expectations to make sure we were having a great time. The food was good but I wish they would give an option for the lobster. I do not care for lobster and therefore did not eat it. I just wish the steak would have been a larger portion since we did not eat the lobster. Other than that, excellent time!
Despite our flight information changing several times, they managed to be right at the gate when we arrived! I ordered this as a special surprise for my mom on our trip to Hawaii and she was extra surprised! Thank you for making this happen!
