We paddled about 500 meters offshore to Popoi'a Island from Kailua Beach in a tandem sea kayak. This time, there were three couples, including us, totaling six people. The ride to the island took a bit longer due to the side waves, but our guide was fantastic, providing guidance and encouragement throughout, with a couple of breaks along the way, which allowed even first-timers like us to enjoy it comfortably. Popoi'a Island is a sanctuary for birds, where we saw chicks, eggs, and parent birds warming their eggs, as well as sea turtles. The view of Lanikai Beach and the two islands offshore from the sea was incredibly beautiful. We arrived around 9 AM, and since our kayaking schedule was at noon, we rented bodyboards and went to Kailua Beach in the morning. The feeling of riding the waves all the way to the sandy beach was amazing, and I wished I could have played there all day. Our guide, Chiharu, was full of energy and smiles, making the experience enjoyable. She also provided various tips, so I was glad we chose a guided tour. However, it was unfortunate that the pizza shop was closed for renovations that day. The muscle soreness that followed in the days after became a good memory as well.

カイルアビーチから約５００メートル沖合にあるポポイア島まで二人乗りシーカヤックで漕いでいきます。今回は、我々夫婦を含めて３組６名。行きは横波の影響もあり、少し時間がかかりましたが、ガイドさんの誘導（途中で２回程度の休憩を入れ、みんなに声をかけ続け）が素晴らしく、シーカヤック初挑戦の我々でも気持ちよく楽しむことができました。ポポイア島は鳥の聖域で、ひな鳥、たまご、たまごを温めている親鳥に加えてウミガメも見ることができました。また、海側から見るラニカイビーチやその沖合の二つの島は、とても美しい。この日は、９時頃到着１２時からシーカヤックのスケジュールでしたので、午前中はボディボードを借りてカイルアビーチに行きましたが、波に乗って砂浜まで一気に行けた時の気分は最高でした。これだけでも一日中遊んでいたいと思いました。ガイドの「ちはる」さんは、元気いっぱい笑顔いっぱいで楽しませてくれました。いろいろとアドバイスもしてくれたので、やはり、ガイド付のツアーにして良かったと思いました。ただ、この日はピザのお店が改修中でお休みだったのが残念でした。また、翌日以降の筋肉痛も良い思い出になりました。

It was a quick experience, but my daughter was so happy that it became her favorite memory this time. They were taking photos on the water, but it was a shame we couldn't complete the procedure to receive the USB.

With just four parties, the guide provided detailed instructions. However, unlike the Japanese tours, it was a bit of a tough activity (laughs). After practicing kayaking for about 15 minutes, we enjoyed snorkeling in the world of Ryugu-jo. After that, the guide cheerfully sent us off, saying we had to paddle back to the starting point in 30 minutes (laughs). I wondered if there would be staff nearby to support us on a tour for Japanese people, but truly, the exhilaration of maneuvering the kayak and paddling across the sea by ourselves was something extraordinary that you can only understand by experiencing it. I was able to enjoy kayaking in the beautiful sea. It was a guided plan, and the guide was friendly, which was nice. However, it didn't seem like something that required a guide. It felt like information you could easily find online, haha. The flat island we landed on was closer than I expected; it's only about 500 meters from the beach. If you want to paddle a lot, I definitely recommend the plan without a guide. Also, getting the kayak to the beach was quite challenging. They do provide a cart, but it was a bit difficult for just women. A man from another group kindly helped us out. It would have been great if the kayaks were already set up on the beach. I’ve written a lot, but I think kayaking in Hawaii's beautiful sea will be a great memory!

The uninhabited island is a sanctuary for birds, and we walked around it to explore, but I went in flip-flops; I think marine boots would be easier for walking if possible. Had great experience kayaking and snorkeling in the beautiful bay! Great guides with little stories about the historical background (and super supportive in care you're not fully comfortable).
The tour doesn't make a stop at the famous "sand bar", so not recommended to those who wish to do some photo shooting there.

I was excited to participate after hearing from others that it would be thrilling and fun even with small children. I joined with my 3-year-old and 8-year-old, making a group of four with one staff member and the captain operating the boat.

The kids didn't paddle, but they sat in the boat, paddling out into the blue sea of Waikiki on their own, following the captain's signals to paddle and rest while waiting for good waves. When a good wave came, they paddled hard towards the shore, and after that, the boat moved swiftly towards the land without needing to paddle at all. The first time was really enjoyable, and the kids were thrilled, saying they wanted to do it again.

For the second time, it seemed like we were waiting a long time for good waves, and when we finally got moving, it wasn't as thrilling as the first time. I had read in reviews that there would be three rounds, so I thought we could go again, but it turned out to be over...

If we could have caught one more wave, I would have felt satisfied, but with the price we paid for only two rounds, and the second one being lackluster, it left me feeling unsatisfied. The kids were also asking, "Is it over already?"

I was really looking forward to this, so I was a bit disappointed.

口コミでは3回はあると書いてあったのでもう一度行ってもらえるかと思ったら、何と終了 。。。

せめて、後一回波に乗れていたらそれなりに満足でしたがこの値段で2回しか出来ず、しかも2回目は不発で言葉も微妙なのでもう一回と言うこともできずすっきりしない感じで終わりました。
子供たちももう終わり？ってかんじで...

As soon as we headed out, waves came, so we were told we would return after two rides, which took about ten minutes. It was so brief that we asked for another round. If we hadn't asked, we would have only had two rides.

We participated as a family of five. It was our first experience riding the waves right in the middle of Waikiki Beach, and everyone was thrilled. The guide was also attentive and explained everything well.

There was one downside: the activity time was short. Depending on the guide's discretion, it could end in about 15 to 20 minutes. We managed to ride the waves about three times. Since we asked to do a bit more, we ended up riding for around 30 minutes and about five times, but if you don't say anything, it could very well end in 15 to 20 minutes with just three rides. So, be cautious about that.

However, this is definitely one of the activities I would like to participate in again when we go back to Waikiki. We had a great time!

On the day we arrived in Hawaii, our family of four (two adults, a middle schooler, and an elementary schooler) participated. The introduction page mentioned "everyone paddles together" and "participants must be 3 years or older," so I assumed everyone would be paddling. However, when we participated, only the two adults were allowed to paddle. The children, aged 13 and 11, were told by the captain in English, "If I give the oars to the kids, they'll lose them, and that would be a problem," so they could only ride along. Instead, two male helpers paddled with us, but the kids were disappointed, so I wish we had known this when signing up. *I saw in other reviews that it mentioned "it's okay if women and children don't paddle," but in our case, it was more like "the kids wanted to paddle, but they weren't even allowed to hold the oars." The surfing itself was really fun and went by too quickly. Since we only had two runs, it felt a bit unsatisfying.

This was a tour I had heard about from an acquaintance and absolutely wanted to try. It may seem simple to paddle out with a canoe and ride the waves back, but it’s incredibly fun. It takes about 30 minutes, so it's a great way to make some good memories when you have a little free time. I highly recommend it!

Fun Time but a little rushed

I'm really glad I participated in this tour. I chose the plan with a Japanese-speaking guide, who was very kind, and kayaking was fun, with beautiful seas that were just amazing.

I had free time in the morning and kayaking in the afternoon. During the free time, I quickly rented a bike and headed to Lanikai Beach. It took about 10 minutes by bike from the kayak rental base, so I enjoyed cycling there. As expected, it was definitely much cleaner and clearer than Waikiki, with fine sand that made me think, "This is what a Hawaiian beach is all about!"

In the afternoon, after learning the basics of kayaking, I took the kayak out to sea. While the round trip might be challenging, kayaking was so much fun. Paddling to a deserted island with my wife was a great experience. We were also lucky enough to see seabirds and a sea turtle with the guide's explanations on the deserted island!

Since my wife wanted to go to Lanikai Beach (the "Heavenly Sea"), it was great that we could include it in this tour, making it a win-win situation.

Also, the pizza for lunch was delicious.

このツアーは参加して本当に良かったです。私が参加したのは日本語ガイド付きのプランでしたが、その方も親切でしたし、カヤックも楽しくて、海も綺麗で最高でした。
　
私は午前中が自由時間、午後がカヤックでした。午前の自由時間では、すぐに自転車を借りてラニカイビーチに向かいました。カヤックを借りる拠点から自転車で10分程度だったため、楽しくサイクリングしながら着きました。例に漏れずワイキキよりも断然綺麗で透き通ったビーチで、砂もサラサラで、これぞハワイのビーチ！と思わせる場所でした。
午後のカヤックも一通り操作を教えてもらったら、カヤックを連れて海へ。確かに往復のカヤック移動は大変かもしれませんが、それ以上にカヤックが楽しかったです。無人島まで奥さんと一緒に漕いだのは良い経験になりました。また無人島でもガイドさんの説明付きで、運が良かったのか海鳥？やウミガメも見れました！
　
奥さんが、「ラニカイビーチ（天国の海）」に行きたい！と言っていたので、このツアーで組み込めたので、一石二鳥でした。
　
あと、お昼ごはんはピザが美味しかったです。

There are plans with a guide and plans without a guide, but I always choose the one with a guide. Despite the price difference, the satisfaction level exceeds the cost. I always participate when going to Kailua in Oahu. The content of the tour varies slightly depending on the guide, and the way time is spent is also different, so even if you're paddling the same course, the experience is unique. If you think it's a bit expensive, I encourage you to go for the guided option!

オアフにカイルアに行くときはいつも参加しています。

Picked this tour to the north shore due to the choice of activities and since it had pick up from Waikiki. Mike was our guide and informative. Snorkelled at Shark's cove then headed to Waimea Bay for some snorkelling and beach time. Then chose to paddle boarding down the river near Haleiwa instead of kayaking. Ended the tour at Haleiwa. Good tour for the time spent up north and activities you could participate in and p/u provided.

If your looking to spend a beautiful morning in the water followed by a great lunch with highly informative guides then this is for you. I am a highly anxious person and they made you feel at ease and also catered for my allergy to gluten with the whole lunch being gluten free! Picked us up from our hotel and returned us after lunch. Couldn't of been easier!

We went with five family members: three adults and two children aged 8 and 3. The two children were not prompted to wear life jackets, but we could borrow them for free if we asked. They provide three to four practical sessions. The staff members at the back steer while we paddle, so the girls and kids were fine just holding the oars. Riding the waves was more thrilling than we imagined! During our first try, while riding the waves, a Japanese surfer suddenly appeared, and we had to steer to avoid him, almost capsizing. Foreigners were all very good at dodging. For those who can't swim and for children, wearing a life jacket is absolutely essential. This kind of situation is rare, but it was quite scary. Since my 3-year-old was frightened, we ended our attempts after three tries, including one failure. They seemed willing to let us go again, but we decided to finish. Middle schoolers and above will have a blast!

大人３人８才３才の家族５人で乗りました。子供２人のライフジャッケトの着用促されませんでしたが、一応、無料で、こちらから頼み無料で借りれました。３回から４回実地してくれます。こぐのもスタッフ２人が後ろで舵をとりながら、してくれるので、女子供はオールを持ってるだけでも大丈夫でした。波に乗ると想像以上にスリリング！！最初のトライの時、波に乗ってる中で、サーファーの日本人が飛び出してきて、こちらが、舵を切りよけて、横波に当たられ転覆寸前でした。外人さんはみんな上手によけてくれます。泳げない方や子供は絶対にライフジャッケット必須です。こんなことは、まずないようでしたが、ビビリマシタ。３歳の子供が怖がったため、失敗入れて３回でトライ終了。もう１回行ってくれそうでしたが、終了してもらいました。中学生以上は、メッチャ楽しめます。
