During the journey there, the driver guided us through various things in the area, and I was happy to learn interesting facts while saying, "Oh, really?" and "Wow!" The horseback riding experience was refreshing and enjoyable. The local staff were also wonderful people. If I could wish for something, I would have liked a little more time to explore Haleiwa Town, even if it meant a slightly later return time. Perhaps it was to avoid traffic? I had been wanting to go horseback riding in Hawaii. Initially, I planned to go to Kualoa, but it seemed that the tours there had a lot of free time (waiting) during the scheduled hours, and I didn't want to be bored, so I quickly changed my plans and found this place instead. In the end, it was a great decision to change.

I was disappointed that I couldn't see the sea turtles, which they said you have a high chance of encountering, but the garlic shrimp I had in Haleiwa was very delicious, and I was able to shop at Patagonia as well. It would have been even better if I had more time, but for now, I was satisfied.

At first, I was a bit nervous about horseback riding, but the horses were used to it, so they all lined up nicely and walked leisurely, making it enjoyable even for a first-timer like me. I wanted to take a video, but I had to give up since I couldn't let go of the reins. However, others were taking pictures. I think photos from the horse's back would be a rare capture.

The coastal route was truly amazing, with beautiful scenery that felt very Hawaiian and refreshing. While the lush greens of Kualoa's nature are beautiful, I thought the blue of Hawaii's ocean was even better. I would love to repeat this experience if I have the chance again.

高い確率で遭遇できるとのことだった海亀を見ることができず残念でしたが、ハレイワで食べたガーリックシュリンプはとてもおいしかったし、パタゴニアで買い物もできました。
もっと時間に余裕があったら尚良かったですが、とりあえず満足でした。
乗馬は、最初は少しビビってしまいましたが、慣れている馬達なので、みんなお利口に1列になってのんびりと歩いてくれて、初めての私にも楽しめました。
ムービーを撮りたかったのですが、さすがに手綱から手が離せなかったため断念しましたが、他の方は撮っていました。馬の上からのビューなんて貴重な写真だと思います。
海沿いを歩くコースも景色が本当に最高で、ハワイらしく、気持ち良かったです。
クアロアの大自然のグリーンもきれいでしょうが、ハワイの海のブルーの方が良かったと思いました。
また機会があったらリピートしたいです。

I was told that beach horseback riding is recommended during this season as it is less affected by the weather compared to valley riding. I got caught in a huge traffic jam, but it turned out to be a satisfying tour. I felt that it would have been nice if we had about 30 more minutes at the Dole Plantation and Haleiwa Town. Although I couldn't see any sea turtles at Alii Beach, I was glad to encounter one during the horseback riding experience. Perhaps because of the heavy traffic? The horseback riding was a private experience for my husband and me, which was really lucky. The horses were calm, so I felt safe riding them, and the time flew by. If I have the chance, I would like to join this tour again.

After that, we went shopping at Happy Haleiwa and the Snoopy Surf Shop in Haleiwa. Kazu-san kindly explained how to ride a horse during our travels, so there were no issues with the English instructions for horseback riding. Twelve of us rode in a line through the woods and along the beach. We were able to enjoy horseback riding while being blown by the pleasant sea breeze and taking in the beautiful coastline. On the way back, we drove along the east coast to avoid traffic. We passed by Kualoa Ranch and took a coffee break at a Kona coffee farm. In the city, we were specially taken through Chinatown, Downtown, and Kaka'ako, allowing us to enjoy the sights from the car window. Thank you, Kazu-san! I received explanations in Japanese from our guide, Kaz, about how to ride and the names and personalities of the horses, so even as a beginner, I was able to comfortably see many turtles swimming from horseback. On the way back, we avoided traffic by returning via the Kualoa area, allowing us to see the magnificent scenery and landmarks, and we also stopped by a macadamia nut farm. Kaz introduced us to downtown Waikiki, murals, and Ala Moana Beach from the car window, providing great value for the price. Kaz, our guide, was very accommodating to my elderly father, who has difficulty walking, and I found him to be much more polite and kind than other reviews suggested. For those who want to leisurely enjoy exploring Haleiwa, I recommend avoiding crowded days and opting for a tour focused solely on the town.

The explanations on-site were in English, but it wasn't too difficult, and the people were friendly, making for an enjoyable time. There were also others who brought their own horses and some who were swimming in the sea. Since it was by the seaside, there were no risky areas like mountain paths where you might fall off, and with fewer weeds along the road, we could ride smoothly while enjoying the sea breeze.

I had some experience with horseback riding in Japan (it usually lasts about 10 minutes depending on the price), but here I was able to ride for a longer time (about 40 minutes) and basically guided the horse myself, which was fun (^O^). The horse was really smart, so even my second grader was fine! Additionally, we were able to go sightseeing in the town of Haleiwa along the way (this part was mixed with horseback riding and included a meal, so it was quite rushed at about 1 hour (^o^;), but there was also a separate course just for sightseeing). We also had a great encounter with sea turtles, which you can see with high probability!!!

The guide talked a lot about Hawaii while we were in the car! The horseback riding was wonderful; I was a bit scared at first, but my horse was very gentle and walked slowly ahead. The staff chooses each horse based on compatibility with the rider. Some horses seemed to be struggling because they just wanted to eat grass! Riding while looking at the ocean is something you can't experience in Japan, so I definitely recommend trying it!

My mother and I signed up for a seaside horseback riding course. It was our first horseback riding experience, but the local staff kindly helped us with how to ride and stop. Riding while looking at the sea was truly a wonderful feeling.

Unfortunately, after arriving at the Dole Plantation, which was supposed to be just a quick stop, we were told by the tour guide that there was a mistake and they had forgotten to bring their license, which would take time to retrieve from the office. As a result, our stay was extended by over an hour. Since this is a common spot for other tours, I had been there before and ended up with nothing to do, feeling quite bored. Additionally, the tour guide's attitude was lacking sincerity, saying things like, "This is quite rare, you know," which honestly made me feel anxious about whether it was safe to follow this person.

The horseback riding itself was a lovely experience, so next time I participate, I would prefer to join a different tour company if there is an option.

I think I could have enjoyed the tour more if the guide had been better. As others have mentioned, it was disappointing to have Kaz as our guide.

① Dole Plantation

I arrived 10 minutes before opening. This meant that the actual time I had to enjoy Dole Plantation was only 20 minutes, which was unsatisfactory. I quenched my thirst with very delicious pineapple juice and browsed for souvenirs. I wished I had a bit more time to explore the garden.

② Strolling through Haleiwa Town on the North Shore and having brunch with garlic shrimp

I ate at a Japanese-owned restaurant recommended by the guide. (It was emphasized multiple times that they opened early for this tour.) Perhaps because of that, while it was tasty, it was lighter than I expected. Personally, I would have liked a bit more punch. (I think enjoying local flavors is one of the joys of traveling.) The careful preparation of the shells and the shrimp's digestive tract left a good impression. Strolling through the colorful streets was fun, but again, excluding meal time, the stay was only about 30 minutes! There isn't much time to leisurely check out interesting shops, so it might be good to set a purpose in advance.

③ The horseback riding by the seaside, which I was looking forward to the most!!!

All the horses were cute and smart, and it was truly healing. They are well-trained, so I think beginners can experience it with confidence. I wanted to spend more time interacting with the horses!

④ On the way back, I saw sea turtles from the car window.

⑤ We stopped in Haleiwa to pick up participants from other courses and for a restroom break, which concluded the tour.

While the places visited and experiences were excellent, I realized that the presence of the guide significantly changed my level of satisfaction.

This time, the guide, Kaz, was basically high-handed and had a scary tone. Listening to his interactions with other participants, he treated them in a condescending manner, which made those around him uncomfortable.

The information he provided about Hawaii's history and buildings during the journey was interesting, but his unique way of speaking combined with issues with the audio microphone made it hard to absorb.

Additionally, he was very strict about the meeting times. I understand it was to avoid traffic, but it felt more like he was rushing participants to avoid affecting his own working hours rather than for the sake of the participants or to keep the tour schedule.

気になるお店をゆっくり見ている暇はないので、事前に目的を定めておくといいかもしれません。


③一番楽しみにしていた海辺での乗馬！！！

どの馬も可愛くてかしこくて、本当に癒されました。
よく調教されているので初心者の方でも安心して体験できると思います。
もっと長い時間馬と触れ合っていたかった！

④帰路につく途中、車窓からウミガメを見る

⑤他コースの方をピックアップ＆トイレ休憩のためハレイワに寄り終了


訪問先・体験内容は申し分ないのですが、ガイドさんの存在ですごく満足度が変わってくることを実感しました。

今回のガイド、カズさんは基本的に高圧的で口調がコワイです。
他の参加者さんとのやり取りを聞いていても、バカにしたようなあしらうような対応をされていて、周りが不快に思う。

道中教えてくださるハワイの歴史や建物案内等は興味深い内容なのですが、独特なしゃべり方と音声マイクの不具合が相まって、入ってこない。

そして、集合時間にはすごく厳しくせっつかれます。
渋滞を避けるためなのはわかりますが、「参加者のため」「ツアー予定時刻を守るため」というよりも、ガイドさんご自身の勤務時間に影響のないよう、参加者を急かしているような印象を持ちました。

The garlic shrimp at Cameron's, recommended by our guide in Haleiwa, was delicious. It was a shame that our stay in Haleiwa was only about an hour due to horseback riding being scheduled afterward, leaving us no time to explore. It seems our time in Haleiwa was shortened because of expected traffic on that weekend.

The horseback riding at Turtle Bay by the sea was very nice. The horse I rode was a bit of a glutton and kept trying to eat grass during the ride, so I had to scold him multiple times to get back on course, which left my arms sore. It turned into a fun memory! Next time, I think I’ll want to explore Haleiwa more leisurely, so I might plan horseback riding for another day.

ハレイワではガイドさんのおススメキャメロンのガーリックシュリンプ美味しかったです。
乗馬がその後の予定だったのでハレイワでの滞在が1時間程で散策する時間が無かったのが残念です。その日は週末のせいか渋滞が予想されたのでハレイワ滞在時間が短縮された様です。
乗馬はタートルベイの海辺でとても良かったです。私が乗った馬は食いしん坊で乗馬中に何度も草を食べに行ってしまい何度も馬を叱ってコースに戻るようにしたので腕が筋肉痛になりまた。笑笑〜楽しい思い出になりました。
次回はゆっくりハレイワを散策したいので乗馬は別の日にしよーかなぁ〜と思ってます。

Our guide Keola was the best. He provided us with valuable information about the eco system, history about the North Shore and Hawai’i and safety information during the hike.

The area is absolutely stunning. If you want to do something away from the commercial and touristy stuff in Waikiki this is a great way to see Hawai’i in all its beauty.

I would ensure you wear good hiking shoes or trail running shoes. Also this hike is not a leisure walk. You will earn your lunch.

It was truly the best tour! During the journey to and from the destination, our Japanese driver and guide shared various information about Hawaii. The stories were easy to understand and interesting, and his calm tone made it very easy to listen to. After arriving in Haleiwa Town, he kindly provided detailed information about recommended shops and restaurants while we slowly drove through the area, which I really appreciated. I have visited Hawaii many times, but I learned a lot of things I didn't know before, and I had a truly fulfilling day. I was very satisfied with my choice of this tour and returned home happy. I highly recommend it. Thank you to our tour guide!

This tour is highly recommended! You can taste Hawaii's specialties, enjoy nature, and watch turtles. Even my father, who is over 60, was able to enjoy it without any difficulty. If you come to Hawaii, I definitely want everyone to experience this!

First, at the Dole Plantation, you can enjoy freshly squeezed pineapple juice for just $2.50! It's a great deal, and you can savor the true flavor of pineapple without any additives, so I absolutely recommend it!

Next, the horseback riding takes you through a forest with ups and downs, making the one-hour ride completely engaging! The horses are all thoroughbreds and very stable, so it's reassuring, and it's kind of cute when they occasionally get bored and start munching on grass (*^-^*). The staff were also very cute and kind!

After that, our guide took us to a hidden gem for garlic shrimp that locals use, and we enjoyed incredibly plump and delicious shrimp! Apparently, the garlic shrimp from the North Shore is made from fresh shrimp, making it even tastier♪

また、『こうゆうところはありますか？』と聞くと近場であれば車で案内して下さったりもするので、とても助かりました☆
