Schedule
Check-in at the Waimea Valley Visitor's Center
After your check-in, take part in a number of different hands-on Polynesian cultural activities including a nature walk around the botanical garden, learn how to cook in an umu, weave with coconut fronds and leaves, tree climbing, and traditional games from across the islands of Polynesia.
Known as kava in Hawaii and 'ava in Samoa, the kava ceremony is a unique experience featured at the Toa Luau. Learn about the various protocols that are put in place, how it was used in the past, and as the ceremony concludes, you will share the spirit of aloha, and be a part of the 'ohana (family).
Enjoy a tasty dinner buffet, featuring a number of delicious local island favorites. The various dishes are made with care and aloha, and include kalua pork (Hawaiian-style pulled pork), lomi diced tomato with Hawaiian chili pepper water, BBQ chicken, haupia coconut pudding, and more!
Once the show begins, you will embark on a journey across Polynesia featuring live music, song, and dance. Watch the ori from Tahiti, the haka from New Zealand, the graceful hula from the islands of Hawaii, and of course, the thrilling fire knife dance from Samoa.
