Q. Do I need any prior experience to participate in this activity?
A. No prior experience is required unless you go on the advanced ride.
Q. Will there be stops for picture taking?
A. There are plenty of spots that are scenic for picture taking. There is also a lookout spot that they stop at where the guides will get off their horses and position the riders to take their picture for them. It is encouraged to bring your own camera.
Q. Who is Gunstock Ranch?
A. The ranch has been in the Smith family for over 35 years. Originally from Arizona, Max Smith is a third generation rancher. His children and grandchildren are born and raised in Hawai'i and are dedicated to the family business. Max Smith has also received the honor of being added to the Paniolo Hall of Fame.
Q. Will we be allowed to run the horses?
A. These rides are walking/trotting rides only. Please book an "Advanced Trail Ride" at Gunstock Ranch if you'd like to run, gallop, or canter.
Q. Do you provide transportation?
A. No, this activity does not provide transportation. The drive is approximately 1.5 hours drive north of Honolulu.
