FAQ

Q. What is the possibility of the shark getting into the cage?
A. This has never happened in North Shore Shark Adventure's 11 years of operation. Sharks have never shown interest in entering the cage. Although the sharks you see, mainly Galapagos sharks, are large, they are more interested in eating the fish.
Q. How long are you in the cage?
A. You will be in the cage for approximately 20 minutes, offering plenty of time to get up close and personal with the sharks.
Q. How big is the cage?
A. The metal cage is 9 feet by 8 feet wide and 8 feet tall (deep). There are handle-bars inside the cage on all sides and plexi-glass windows for clear and unobstructed views. A step-ladder is available to allow easy access.
Q. How many people can fit in the shark cage?
A. Cage divers are broken into 2-3 groups. Depending on passenger count, size, and ability, we may place up to 8 people in the cage comfortably.
Q. How far in advance should I book this activity?
A. We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance. If you have very specific schedule requirements and are not flexible, please book sooner. Last-minute availability is often possible, but limited.
Q. Can I touch the Hawaiian Sea Turtles?
A. No, Hawaiian Sea Turtles are both locally and federally protected and touching one can result in a fine as large as $25,000.
Q. Are prescription snorkeling masks available?
A. No, they are not available. If you own a prescription mask, please bring it along.
Q. Will our guide help us with snorkeling if it is our first time?
A. Yes, there will be a snorkeling briefing that lasts about 10-15 minutes.
Q. What activities are available during this tour?
A. Included Activities:

North Shore Sightseeing: Enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Oahu's northern coastline including the famous Sunset Beach, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay, Old Haleiwa Town, and much more!

Turtle Beach: A favorite place among sea turtles to bathe in the warm Hawaiian sunshine.

"Lazy Beach Day" at Waimea Bay: Enjoy the sunshine and white sands of the picturesque Waimea Bay, the most popular beach on the North Shore.

Beach Cruiser Biking: Hop on a beach cruiser and pedal along the stretch of white sand beaches the North Shore is famous for. Stop off at the famous Pipeline and Sunset Beach during the wintertime to watch some of the world's best surfers in action.
