From Waikiki (34mi, 60-70min) 66-105 Haleiwa Road, Haleiwa, HI 96712: Head WEST on the H1 Freeway towards the Airport/Pearl Harbor. Continue onto the H2 freeway headed NORTH and continue until it becomes Route 99/Wilikina Drive. Continue onto Hwy 803 (Kaukonahua Road), following signs for the North Shore and Haleiwa. Take a right onto the Kamehameha Hwy (Hwy 930) and follow towards Haleiwa. Take a left onto Haleiwa Road through historic Haleiwa Town. After about 1 mile turn left immediately after the 76 Gas Station on the left side of the road. On your right is the Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor. Free parking is available at the harbor.
Public Transportation: Public transport is available from the Waikiki area and is approximately a 2.5 hour bus ride to Haleiwa. From Ala Moana Shopping Center take Bus Route #55. Please visit The Bus (www.thebus.org) for specific Routes and Timetables. Bus Fare is currently $2.50 one-way and prices are subject to change without notice.

Q. What kind of experience does the captain have?
A. Born and raised in Hawaii, Kaiwi Berry grew up surfing, fishing & diving on the North Shore of Oahu. He comes from three generations of commercial fisherman and learned to swim in "Slip 36" of Haleiwa Harbor. He has spent most of his life as an avid surfer and was a well-known big wave surfer. Since 2007, Kaiwi has been a Honolulu City & County Lifeguard on the North Shore, guarding the famous beaches from Haleiwa to Sunset Beach. With years of experience with the North Shore’s powerful ocean currents and waves from his time as a professional surfer and vast knowledge about the history and legends of the area, Kaiwi is ultimate local tour guide to some of Oahu’s best kept secrets.
Q. What kind of boat will be used?
A. A 22-foot Hawaiian-style Radon boat that can hold up to six passengers. Originally built by John and Dave Martin in 1978, this was the original escort boat to the world famous Hokule’a sailing canoe. It was rebuilt by the captain, Kaiwi Berry and his father, and is now powered by twin four stroke Suzuki 115 engines with a cruising speed of 20+ knots.
