Reviewed by: Cheryl, 2010/07/08We had a wonderful time on our Keauhou Sea Cave Kayak Adventure. Our main guide, Kevin, was wonderful. He was very concerned about our safety and enjoyment of the outing. We were able to kayak into a large sea cave before paddling over to our snorkeling destination. Many were adventurous and jumped off the 25 foot high cliff into the water, including my husband! One of our daughters and I snorkeled away from the main group a bit and I saw a few hundred yellow tang - more than I've ever seen before! There were many other kinds of fish there as well as Hawaii's state fish. Our oldest daughter had her snorkeling cut short when she got stung by a small jelly fish on the foot, as did one or two others in our tour, but that's a risk when in the ocean. Kevin and another Ocean Safari staff member who was there with his own tour both checked on our daughter after getting her back in the kayak. Great trip
Reviewed by: Miller's, 2010/06/22This was soooo much fun. The Best part of our trip. We had a blast snorkeling, jumping off the cliff, and even the kayaking wasn't so bad. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a way to spend a fun 3 1/2 hrs enjoying the water, catching some rays, and learning about the Island. It was GREAT!

AWESOME!
Reviewed by: Jason, 2010/06/21This was an awesome experience for my wife and I on our honeymoon. It was great exercise and you get to see Hawaii from a whole different perspective. The snorkeling was amazing and we even were able to jump off some cliffs into the water. Mike, the tour leader, was awesome and extremely nice. We would recommend this to anyone!

Really cool experience!

I even jumped off a 22ft cliff into the water!! The snorkeling was amazing and the two tour guides were simply wonderful - very experienced and helpful! This was really one of my favorite aspects of our trip.

Big Island Keauhou Sea Cave Kayak
Reviewed by: Rob, 2009/09/19The guides were very skilled and experienced. They were very helpful on the trip. Mid-trip snack could have been a little more substantial, however one can carry only so much on a kayak. There was really one small "cave" to see, but it was still a good time.

The snorkeling was great and the cliff jump (optional for everyone) was an great from the Top of the World. Excellent snacks after our trip!!

We had the best time!!!!!!!!!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2009/07/01The kayaking was not as tiring as I anticipated. My kids' highlight of the tour was the 25ft cliff jump (I only jumped the 10 ft cliff). They can't stop talking about it; truly awesome. We snorkeled on our way back from the caves. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour and would do it again.

Our Honeymoon

I loved the whole thing!! I am a bit afraid of the Ocean so I only snorkled a little and then sat up on the rocks which was very relaxing and so beautiful!!!!!!!!!! A True Adventure

We are in decent shape but we were pretty tired at the end of the trip. Good snorkling and cliff jumping. The guide is informative and competent.

a little disappointing!

So, everybody expected something else. In the end, we didn´t do much on this tour but enjoying ourself, which would have been great if I would have known about it earlier.

Good Trip
Reviewed by: Steve and Sara A., 2008/09/30This trip was long and somewhat strenuous. The sea cave was a bit of a let down. It was not as cool as it looked online. The snorkling was great and the tour guides definately knew there stuff. I would not reccomend this trip for a first time kayaker. The water was a little ruff on the way back which made it a long row. For the dare devils there was a 15 foot cliff to jump off. They also provided snacks and juices including fresh pineapple. Overal we had a great time.

Best time in Hawaii!!!
Reviewed by: Aaron; Rockford, IL, 2008/08/13I was in Hawaii for a week and did a number of activities including shark cage swim, swimming with dolphins, Polynesian magic show, manta ray dive, 2-tank scuba dive, and the Polynesian cultural center, and this was my favorite of all of them. Even better...it was the least expensive!!! The snorkeling left something to be desired, but the kayaking itself and the cliff jump more than made up for that! I HIGHLY recommend this activity! Thanks Johnny, Kevin, and Jasmine!

Honeymoon/Vacaiton Highlight
Reviewed by: Joey Jamir, 2008/06/23A group of eight of us, my wife and I, our 9 year old daughters, my sister and her husband, and my brother and his wife, went kayaking for the first time with Ocean Safari Kayaks, and we all agreed that is was one of the best activities of our whole trip. The staff, Mikey and Debbie, was very friendly, informative, and supportive and the locations we visited were awesome. Although not as leisurely as going on a snorkeling trip with a power boat or raft company, I'd say this trip gives you more of a sense of adventure. We were able to check out the Dragon's Throat Sea Cave, which was a bit intimidating, but with their guidance, were able to successfully enter. Then, came the snorkeling which was awesome, and most importantly the cliff dive. That is one experience I may never stop talking about. My brother, brother in law, and I all took the plunge, not to mention being upstaged by Mikey doing a spectacular backflip off the cliff. Anyway, I could go on and on about this, but its d

Be prepared to get wet!
Reviewed by: keva, 2008/06/06Kayaking was fun -Cave was not quite what I had expected (much smaller, but impressive all the same) and I didn't think about the fact that I could not see while snorkeling due to not being able to wear glasses. Otherwise, tour guides were great and this was a very enjoyable way to spend time in the sun.

No Fins!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2008/06/01Although we really enjoyed the beautiful setting and being on the water it would have been much more enjoyable if they had provided fins. The water was a little choppy and we weren't able to snorkle as long as we wanted because we were just too tired after all the paddling. Also, we weren't able to enter the sea cave because of the waves. I was hoping to see dolphins or turtles but I guess it wasn't our lucky day. The staff were very nice and helpful but I think there are better sites for snorkling.

Ocean Kayak Tour!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2008/05/10Two Virginians loved this excursion! We're so glad that we rode on a tandem kayak so we could switch on paddling. You need to be somewhat physically fit so you can keep up with everyone. We were soo lucky to see an off-season whale, as well as a pod of dolphins. I know it's up to mother nature to see these incredible creatures, but i would have still enjoyed the tour without seeing them. Highly recommended.

A Good Time
Reviewed by: JJH, 2008/03/19This was a great time. The staff was helpful and friendly in making sure you had a great time. Kayaking was a good and steady pace. Snorkeling was amazing! Being underwater with the fish and coral is a must see! Seeing dolphins playing close by is really neat too.
Cave was a bit disappointing, being only 30 feet deep, you coulnd't really go in them.
If you are up for the extreme, try the cliff jump, its definately a thrill and safe.
All in all, a good experience; great way to spend a morning in Hawaii.

Great fun with great people

I wish the water was calm enough to go into sea caves, but the kayak tour did not suffer because of it. Sense of adventure and willingness to put in physical effort is required, but well worth it. Our group did end up with cuts and bruises.

Kayak trip

This was the first time that me and my wife had ever kayaked, the tour guides show you how to do everything from balancing your kayak to getting in and out of your kayak in the open ocean. We seen a pod of dolphins on the way out of the bay, that was great, then we followed the shore line. at one point we were able to paddle into a small cave with a blow hole, and then several members of the tour jumped off the cliff over the cave. It was a bit too high for us so we watched. But we were able to paddle out before the rest with one guide and when we were just around the corner the same pod of dolphins swam under and by us. Several of the dolphins were within touching distance of our kayak. My wife was so in awe she could barely get the camera out! The snacks were yummy and the guides wonderful!. We were able to wander and snorkel at a second sight that had a cove and a shorter cliff that we jumped off! If you can take t

Kayak tour
Reviewed by: Tony, 2007/10/26all I can say about this tour is "wow" if you have never ever paddled in a kayak befor no problem with on tour your guides will teach you how get in and balance yourself, how to hold your paddle, how to paddle toeghter, how to get in and out of your kayak in open water even if you have never done it before because that person was me. My wife and I had the best time toeghter trying to see everything thats going on around you. After they show you how to do everything you just start paddiling out of the bay with your guides along the coast line. Just as we rounded the corner a pod of dolphins swaw by us they were about 100 yrds away from us but what a treat. We stoped for a short break and they showed us how to get in and out of the kayak in the open ocean, then we went cliff to the blow hole paddled in and out of the cave jumped off the cliff then went around to another bay to have lunch and snorkle. Ocean Kayak Sea Cave
Reviewed by: S Hall, 2007/08/11The staff was a bit cranky at check in but once things got rolling, I think they woke up and all was good. I enjoyed the snorkle site but the sea cave exploration is little more than "here is the cave, it's not really deep, next please"......overall I had a good time but felt I paid too much for what I got. If you have never been kayaking in Hawaii and want to, then I would have no problem recommending this outfit. I just think you may get more value from a less green more motorized adventure.
