It was my first experience, but the meeting place, Genki Village, was great for waiting with plenty of activities to enjoy. I had fun with the coral and fish, and even though the time felt short, it left me wanting just a little more, which I think is perfect. The schedule allows for other plans to be included, so I can recommend it. It might not be as enjoyable if the weather is bad, but please cherish your luck.

初体験でしたが、集合場所の元気村も､遊び放題で待ち時間も苦にならず、珊瑚やお魚を楽しめて、時間的には短いかもですが、もう少しだけ！と思える感じが丁度良いと思います。
　別の予定も入れらるスケジュールで、お勧め出来ます。
　天気が悪いとイマイチかもですが、自らの運を大切にして下さい。

Whenever I go to Arashiyama, I always take a boat ride down the Hozu River and then enjoy walking around and eating in Arashiyama. It's so much fun, and I recommend it especially during the autumn foliage and cherry blossom seasons as it's beautiful. You might get a little wet. There are no restrooms for about two hours, so make sure to go before you start.

いつも嵐山行く時は必ず保津川下りしてそのまま嵐山で食べ歩きします。めっちゃ楽しいし紅葉シーズンや桜のシーズンはきれいなのでおすすめ。若干濡れます。トイレは2時間ぐらい行けないので必ず行っておくこと

It was my first experience of the Hozu River boat ride. It lasted a full two hours. It seems like it was a bit early for the autumn leaves. I enjoyed various views from the river. Along the way, we got splashed with water, and it was quite a fun activity.

初めての保津川下り体験でした。たっぷり2時間。紅葉にはちょっと早かった様です。川からの色んな景色を楽しめました。途中、水がかかったり、なかなか楽しいアクティビティでした。

During the peak of autumn leaves in Kyoto, I pondered where to go on a Saturday and decided to book a ride on the Hozu River, thinking it would allow me to enjoy a less crowded experience. The result was a great success; I immersed myself in a leisurely time while admiring the colorful autumn leaves along both banks of the river. Although the water level was low, resulting in a two-hour ride—double the usual time—it was still delightful, with the sounds of waterfowl and the humorous commentary from the boatmen making it an unforgettable experience. I am very grateful to the crew for their kindness and commitment to safety. I would love to take a ride again during cherry blossom season.

京都紅葉の真っ盛り、しかも土曜日何処に行こうかと思案したなか、保津川下りを予約すれば混雑に紛れない時間を過ごせるのではと申し込みました。結果は大成功、保津川両岸に色付く紅葉を目にしながら、ゆったりとした時間に浸りました。水かさが少ないという事で通常の倍の2時間という乗船でしたが、それもなお可というか水鳥の囀りと船頭さん達のユーモア溢れる解説やらで時を忘れるほどの心地良さでした。親切かつ安全第一で案内していただいた船乗りの皆さんには大感謝です。桜の頃も乗船したいと思いました。

I took a boat ride during this year's autumn foliage season (November 26). According to the boatman, the water level was low due to a water shortage, causing the boat's bottom to hit rocks, which created a loud noise that was a bit frightening, but it also added to the thrill. Despite the low water volume, there was a sense of speed, and I almost got splashed several times, desperately guarding myself with a plastic sheet. The autumn leaves were beautiful, and along the way, we encountered a trolley train, waving enthusiastically at each other. I would love to take another ride at a different time in the future. The boatman mentioned that the water volume is higher in March and April, which is his favorite time of year.

今年の紅葉時期(11月26日)に乗船しました。
船頭さんのお話では水不足で水位が低いので船底に岩が当たるのでゴンゴンと音がするとの事で少し恐怖感がありましたが、返ってスリルも増しました。水量が少ないとの事でしてがスピード感もあり何度も水しぶきがかかりそうになり必死でビニールシートでガードしました。
紅葉は綺麗でしたし途中ではトロッコ列車にも会え乗客同士で手を大きく振合いました。
いつかまた違う時期に乗船したいと思いました。
船頭さんは曰く3～4月は水量が多く自分は一番好きな時期とのこと。

On the last Sunday of November, due to the high season, my reservation for 9 AM was canceled about four weeks in advance. Not wanting to give up, I managed to successfully rebook for 9 AM about two weeks ago, which was a relief.

It seems that slots that were previously unavailable are now opening up at the last minute, so it might be worth checking frequently. Although you are asked to arrive 15 minutes before your reservation time, there is a shop in the waiting area where you can eat and drink, and there are spacious, warm benches to sit on, so arriving early shouldn't be a problem.

You can bring food and drinks onto the boat, so you can enjoy snacks while calculating restroom breaks. The travel time by boat seems to vary depending on the river's water level. If it's not winter, there is a shop on the boat towards the end where you can also get warm food.

We happened to see a monkey, which made my child very happy. We enjoyed the autumn leaves while being entertained by the fun talks of the three boatmen. If I have the chance again, I will definitely come back!

11月最終週の日曜日ハイシーズンの為、4週間程前に朝イチの９時からの予約が一旦キャンセルとなってしまいました。諦めきれず2週間程前に9時を無事予約が完了してホッとしました。
ギリギリになって今まで空いていない枠が開く様なのでこまめにチェックもありかも。
予約時間の15分前を指定されますが待合室の中に売店があり飲食できる広くて温かいベンチに座りつつ食べるスペースがあるので早めに到着しても困らないかと。
船に飲食物持参可能なのでトイレを計算しつつ飲み食いしながら楽しめます。川の水量によって船での移動時間が変わる模様。冬季でなければ終盤に船の売店があるのでそこでも温かい物が食べられます。
猿とたまたま会えたので子供がとても喜んでました。
紅葉を楽しみながら船頭さん３人の楽しいトークに引き込まれました。また機会があればお世話になります!

The boatman’s paddling skills and enthusiasm are truly amazing! The scenery met my expectations. If you come to Kyoto, I recommend the riverboat ride just a short walk from Kameoka Station. The boat ride is thrilling yet relaxing, and once you reach the dock near Togetsukyo Bridge, enjoy some herring soba, visit the Kamo Shrine, then head into the crowds for a stroll through the bamboo grove and to enjoy the autumn leaves. It’s a packed itinerary! I’ll be going again in spring.

船頭さん、漕ぐ技術と盛り上げと、ホントスゴイ!景観も期待通り。京都に来たなら、亀岡駅から歩いて直ぐの川下りがオススメ。舟はスリルとまったり、渡月橋近くの桟橋着いたらニシン蕎麦食べて、御髪神社参拝して、人混みへ、竹林散策と紅葉狩り、もりもりコースです。次は春に行きます。

I heard that if you're lucky, you might see a sea turtle, and I was able to find one swimming gracefully in the ocean. (Surprisingly, it was swimming so fast that by the time I took a photo, it had become small.) It was a different kind of excitement compared to an aquarium, and I'm really glad I participated.

ツイていたらウミガメが見られるかもとの事でしたが、海をスイスイ泳ぐウミガメを見つけることが出来ました。（意外と泳ぐのが早すぎて写真を撮った時には小さくなってました。）水族館とは違った感動が味わえ、参加して本当に良かったと思いました。

I thought I would be able to see coral reefs and schools of fish, so I decided to take this boat. When we set sail, I enjoyed the view from the upper deck, but once we arrived at the point, we moved to the cabin below deck. That's when the surprise came! The cabin itself descended into the water, allowing us to see schools of fish right next to us, and the coral reef on the seabed was just nearby, which was truly impressive. This tour should promote the fact that the cabin descends into the water more. (The boarding fee of 1,500 yen is also quite reasonable.)

海中のサンゴ礁・魚群が見れると思いこの船に乗ってみましたが、出港する際は屋上デッキで景色を見て、いざポイントに着くと船底の客室に移動しました。これからが驚き！船室自体が海中に降下し真横で魚群が見られ、サンゴ礁の海底もすぐそこで感激しました。このツアー船室が海中に降下する事をもっとアピールするべきです。（乗船料の1500円も安い）

The privacy was well ensured, and it was a comfortable cruise. Wi-Fi may be difficult to connect to in some areas. The sunrise from the deck was beautiful.

ちゃんとプライバシーも確保でき、快適な船旅でした。Wi-Fiは場所によっては繋がりにくいかもしれません。

I had both excitement and anxiety during my first ride down the Hozu River, but being at the front with the boatmen was so much fun that the two hours flew by. I definitely want to come back in spring during the cherry blossom season. Thank you very much.

初めての保津川下りで期待と不安が有りましたが、先頭に乗せていただき船頭さんたちがとても楽しくて２時間があっと言うまでした。是非とも春の桜の季節にまた来たいと思いました。ありがとうございました。

I visited on November 11, 2023, and although it was a bit early for the autumn leaves, the stunning scenery, thrill, laughter, and fresh air were incredible. The activities, which have been ongoing since the Heian period (130 years ago), attract 600,000 visitors from 120 countries annually and span 16 km over two hours. If you ever have the chance to visit Kyoto, be sure to include this in your plans. I recommend taking the Arashiyama Torokko train there and returning via the Hozu River boat ride; you will definitely be highly satisfied and find it perfect.

2023/11/11に行きましたが、紅葉には少し早く見れなかったが、素晴らしい景色にスリルと笑いと新鮮な空気が味わえる平安時代（観光は130年前）から続く世界120カ国年間60万人が訪れる16km2時間のアクティビティは素晴らしい。京都来られる事があるなら、是非予定に入れてください。行きは嵐山初のトロッコ列車で帰路は保津川下りで嵐山観光すれば絶対に満足度高いし完璧と思います。

It was an amazing experience to be so close to the fish! I was really happy to see a sea turtle as well, as it's not something you get to see often! The coral reef was breathtaking!

The stories from the boatmen were interesting and enjoyable! The teamwork among the three boatmen was outstanding! I definitely want to go again during the spring when the new greenery and cherry blossoms are in bloom!!!

The procedures were simple and on time, departing at 9 AM in the mist. After about 30 minutes, the fog cleared, and it was quite a charming moment. The autumn leaves weren't very beautiful, likely due to the nationwide lack of rain, but I enjoyed myself thanks to the boatman's thoughtfulness and playful banter.

I stayed at Route Inn near Kameoka Station, which is about a 5-minute walk to the boat dock. However, since parking was free, I moved my car from the hotel parking lot, which took just 2 minutes. If you park at the hotel, there’s an additional fee of 500 yen if you stay past 12 or 1 PM. For the return trip, since the tram station is far from the boat dock, I might take a taxi. If I return by JR, it’s only a 10-minute walk even at a leisurely pace. By the way, after exploring Arashiyama and Sagano, my wife took the tram while I took JR.

I hope to ride again during cherry blossom season someday.

Be careful as you can't go to the restroom for two hours, especially if you drink a lot. Although you arrive right in front of Arashiyama, there may be a wait during peak times.

亀岡の駅近くのルートインに泊り　5分くらいで歩いて船着き場に行けますが、駐車場が無料だったので、ホテルの駐車場から車で2分で移動。ホテルでの駐車は　１２時だったか１時を過ぎると、追加料金５００円を取られます。
帰りはトロッコ電車で帰ると,船着き場へは遠いのでタクシーかな？
ＪＲで帰れば、ゆっくり歩いても１０分
因みに私は嵐山・嵯峨野を散策した後、家内がトロッコ私はＪＲでした。

いつか桜の時期のまた乗りたいものです。

I participated for the first time last year, and it was so great that I joined again this year. The weather on the day was also wonderful, and the autumn leaves viewed from the river were very beautiful. I was able to see various wild birds, and the boatman's stories were as interesting as ever. I want to participate again next year.

去年初めて参加して、とても良かったので今年も参加しました。当日は天気にも恵まれ、川から眺める紅葉はとてもキレイでした。色々な野鳥も見ることが出来たし、船頭さんの話も相変わらず面白かったし、来年もまた参加したいです。

There were many foreign visitors, but the boatmen really livened up the atmosphere, and the two-hour river ride was a lot of fun! (*^^*)

Anyway, the boatmen's talks were entertaining! They casually shared various stories with us!

Also, the boatmen work hard every day to improve their skills and ensure safety, so I felt secure during the ride! They truly have both skill and great communication abilities, and I'm really glad I went on this ride! (╹◡╹)

The required time and speed vary depending on the water level that day, and the scenery changes with the seasons, so I thought it would be nice to visit again in a different season!

外国の方が多かったのですが、船頭さんたちがとても場を盛り上げてくださり、２時間ほどの川下りはとても楽しかったです(*^^*)
とにかく、船頭さんたちのトークが面白いです！気さくにいろんな話をしてくださります！
また、船頭さんたちは日々、技術の向上や安全のために努力をなさっていて、その点でも安心して乗れました！本当に、実力もありトーク能力もある船頭さんで、本当に乗ってよかったです（╹◡╹）
その日の水量によって所要時間やスピードが違ったり、また季節によって景色も変わるので、また違う季節に行きたいなぁと思いました！！

I had made a reservation for the tour based on the departure time, but when I arrived, it was based on the order of arrival. I had a reservation for a 12:00 departure, but I went at 11:35 and ended up departing at 12:30. I was very worried because I had a schedule to follow afterward.

ツアーは出発時間で予約していたのに、行ってみると到着順だった。
12時出発の予約が、11時35分に行って、12時30分に出発した。後のスケジュールがあったので、とても心配でした。

The captain's storytelling was very skillful, and all the passengers had a great time. The air and scenery were wonderful, making the two hours fly by.

船頭のお話がとても上手で、乗客みんなが楽しく過ごせました。空気も景色もよくて、あっという間の２時間でした。

I boarded right after checking in, and the one-and-a-half-hour boat trip was very enjoyable. The life jackets were new, and they even checked each person's size, which made me feel very safe!

受付してすぐに乗り込み、一時間半の船旅は、とても楽しく過ごせました。
救命胴衣も新しく、尚且つ一人一人のサイズチェックなど、とても安心出来ました！

On November 12th (Sunday), it was still a bit early for the autumn leaves, but I was able to enjoy the pleasant scenery without it being too cold. I experienced this about 20 years ago, and it felt like the river was flowing faster back then, but the boatman mentioned that the water level was low, making it difficult to paddle. For 4,500 yen, you can enjoy nearly two hours and feel like you're on a trip. However, since my seat was towards the back, I could only hear the cheerful laughter from others and could hardly hear the boatman's stories, which felt unfair. I think it would be nice if they could use a microphone or adjust the seating prices accordingly.

11/12(日)紅葉にはまだ早いですが、寒すぎず長閑な風景が楽しめました。
20年ほど前に一度経験しましたが、もっと川の流れが早かったように感じましたが、やはり船頭さんが、水位が低くて漕ぐのが大変だと仰ってました。
4,500円で2時間近く楽しめて、旅行気分が味わえます。
席が後ろの方で、楽しそうな笑い声が聞こえてくるだけで、船頭さんの話がほぼ聞こえず、不公平感があり、マイクを利用するか、席で金額に差を付けて貰えると良いなと思いました。

This facility is located near the Churaumi Aquarium. The night before the experience, I was imagining whether the water would be murky due to the rain, but that wasn't the case at all. I was able to see the corals and many fish. We moved to the observation point while enjoying the scenery from the boat, so there was no seasickness. Once we arrived at the point, we moved to the bottom of the boat, and after taking our seats, we were lowered into the water, allowing us to see the fish from the side. Unlike a regular glass-bottom boat, where you look down from above, this setup makes it very easy to see everything. Before boarding, we also got to see turtles and dolphins!

美ら海水族館の近くにある施設です。体験前日の夜、雨降りで水中が濁っているかな？って、想像してしていましたが、そんなこともなく、サンゴや沢山の魚を見る事が出来ました。観察のポイントまでは、船上で景色を眺めながら移動するので、船酔いもなく、ポイントに到着したら、船底に移動、着席したらリフト方式で海中にザブン、魚を横から見る事が出来ます。普通のグラスボートだと、上から覗き込むので、とても見やすいですよ。乗船するまでに、亀やイルカも見る事が出来ますよ、

The course is to take the Torokko train from Arashiyama and return via the Hozu River boat ride. I purchased the e-ticket for the Torokko train on KKday. I made a reservation for the Hozu River boat ride on Veltra, but I couldn't change the number of people, so I had to cancel everything and rebook. I was worried that I might not be able to rebook. This concern lowered my overall rating.

I was also anxious about whether I could take the shuttle bus to the boat dock, but I was able to buy tickets with a coupon at Torokko Saga using my Manaca card (¥310 per person). The shuttle bus itself wasn't too crowded, and it seemed you could pay with cash or a transportation IC card. This might have been because the Torokko Saga train departed at 9:02 AM.

Since I had purchased tickets on KKday and Veltra, everything went very smoothly overall.

The Hozu River boat ride was a leisurely experience powered entirely by human effort. It felt quite long. However, I thought the lack of a service to take pictures while on the boat was a bit lacking in customer service. Also, although it was clear in the morning, I heard that the boat service was canceled in the afternoon due to bad weather. We didn't encounter any rain, but it did suddenly become overcast in Arashiyama. We were lucky!

嵐山から行きはトロッコ列車、帰りは保津川下りで嵐山に戻ってくるコースです。
トロッコ列車はkkdayでEチケットを買っておきました。
保津川下りはベルトラで予約しましたが、人数減の変更が出来ず、いったん全部キャンセルして再予約の必要がありました。
もしかして再予約できないのでは？と不安でした(^^;(^^;
その点の不安が評価を落とした理由です。

あと船乗り場への連絡バスも乗れるのか不安でしたが、トロッコ嵯峨でクーポン付きの切符をマナカで買えました(\310×人数分）
連絡バス自体はそう混むこともなく、現金でも交通系ICカードでも乗れるみたいでした。朝一トロッコ嵯峨9：02発だったためかもしれません。
kkdayとベルトラで購入しておいたため全体としてとてもスムーズでした。

保津川下りはすべて人力のゆったりとした川下りを楽しめました。
とても長く感じました。
ただ船に乗ってる写真を撮ってくれるサービスが全くないのがサービス精神にいまいち欠けるなと思いました(^^;(^^;
あとこの日は午前中快晴だったのに悪天候のため午後欠航になったそうです。
私たちは雨には逢いませんでしたが、たしかに嵐山では急にどんよりした空になりました。運が良かったです(^^;(^^;

Once we set out to sea, we sank into the water, but until then, it felt wonderful to enjoy the scenery while soaking up the wind on the deck. I wish I could have watched for a little longer.

沖に出てから海中に沈むので、それまではデッキで風を浴びながら景色を眺める事ができるのでとても気持ち良かったです。
もう少し長い間見てたかったです。

This was my first time participating in this activity during a family trip. It was really great to be able to see underwater while sitting in a semi-submersible.

The staff were very kind and attentive, which was nice since I had small children with me.

One disappointing thing was that I experienced discomfort multiple times when a tourist with a backpack bumped into me as they moved around.

今回家族旅行で初めて参加しました。
座ったまま半潜水艦の様な形で海の中を見る事が出来てすごく良かったです。

スタッフの皆さん親切で小さい子供がいても気を配ってくれてよかったです。

残念だった事は背中にリュックを背負った観光客の人が動く度に荷物で押されて痛い思いをなん度もした事です。

I made a reservation to ride the trolley train and thought I would return by river rafting.

The river rafting itself was very enjoyable. Although it was a long time, the stories were interesting and the scenery was beautiful, so I had a wonderful time. I went with my mother, who is in her 60s, and she said she enjoyed it too, which was great.

However, it was very crowded, and even though I had a reservation, I had to wait in line to write my name, and there was quite a wait before boarding, so I would give it a ⭐︎ minus one.

トロッコ列車に乗り、帰りは川下りで帰ろうと思い予約させていただきました。

川下り自体はとても楽しかったです。時間も長いですが、お話も面白く、景色も綺麗なので素敵な時間を過ごすことがでしました。６０代の母と行きましたが、母も楽しかったと言ってくれたので良かったです。

ですが、とても混んでいて、予約して行ったのに名前を記入する列に並び、さらに乗船まで待ち時間がなかなかあったので⭐︎マイナス１です。

We took the torokko train from Arashiyama, then a shuttle bus to the boat dock, and it was our child's first experience with the Hozu River boat ride. At two and a half years old, he was over 80 cm, so he was able to join. He seemed to have a great time in the rapids, which was wonderful. The boatman's talk and skillful maneuvering were entertaining, and the two hours flew by.

行きは嵐山からトロッコ列車に乗り、連絡バスで船乗り場まで行き、こどもにとっては初めての保津川下り。2歳半ですが、80cm以上だったので乗ることができました。急流で楽しそうにしてくれて、とても良かったです。船頭さんのトークと巧みな舟捌きが面白く、2時間があっという間でした。

This is my third time, and it was great.
The scenery changes with the seasons—autumn, spring, and late summer—was refreshing.
The boatman's stories and calls were exquisite.
I highly recommend you take a ride at least once.

I had previously been on a glass-bottom boat, but since I was with children, I was worried about seasickness. So, I found this tour where you sit and look out the window and decided to sign up, and it was truly amazing!

I couldn't imagine what it would be like until I got on, but once I did, I was really excited!!

I definitely want to recommend it to my acquaintances!!

今まで、船底を覗くタイプのグラスボートには乗ったことがありましたが、子供連れでの参加だったので、船酔いが心配で、座って窓の外を覗くこちらのツアーを見つけて申し込んでみましたが、本当に最高でした！

どんな風になっているのか、乗るまでは想像もつかなかったのですが、実際に乗ってみて、とてもワクワクしました！！
