Since it was my first time trekking and I had some anxiety, I chose the Taiko Rock course instead of Jomon Sugi. I had work until the day before and had to go back to work right after, so it was the right decision to take a leisurely morning tour. I was very satisfied to finally visit the Forest of Mononoke! Additionally, I was able to hear the tour guide talk about moss and cedar along the way, which deepened my understanding of Yakushima. The guide also prepared miso soup and a Kodama doll for photos, and I was touched by that service! It became the best memory. Thank you very much.

トレッキング自体が初めてで不安があったため、縄文杉ではなく太鼓岩のコースにしました。前日まで仕事、帰る日もすぐ仕事と弾丸ツアーであったためゆとりのある朝ゆっくりのツアーにして正解でした。念願のもののけの森に大満足！さらに道中ツアーガイドさんのコケやスギのお話を聞くことができ、より屋久島の理解が深まりました。ガイドさんがお味噌汁や写真用にコダマのお人形を準備してくださっており、そのサービスに感動しました！最高の思い出になりました。ありがとうございます。

The guide, Mr. Fujiyama, was really accommodating and it was a lot of fun. Since it was a long distance, it was very tiring, so the guide's skills made a big difference. I would like to request him again next time. The Wilson stock was very good.

長距離なので、とても疲れるので、ガイドさんの力量で大分変わります。

Unfortunately, the day I participated was cloudy, so I could hardly see any stars. However, the tour was interesting because of the way we boarded the boat! Instead of sitting in seats, we perched on the bow, with our legs hanging off, and even lay down. Although I couldn't see the stars, I enjoyed the unique sounds of the waves and the wind. 😊

参加した日は残念ながらの曇り空だったため、星はほとんど見えませんでした。ただ、このツアーは船の乗り方がおもしろかったです！
座席には座らず、船の先端部分に腰をかけて、足を投げ出して座ったり、寝そべったりしました。

I originally planned to go only to the Mossy Forest, but thanks to the guide's kindness, I was taken all the way to Taiko Rock. That was truly the right decision, as I was able to enjoy a great view at Taiko Rock!

元々苔むす森までで考えていたのですが、ガイドさんのご好意により急遽太鼓岩まで連れていってもらいました。

We, two women in our 38s, signed up for this tour. We were quite anxious about whether we could walk over 20 kilometers on mountain trails and make it back on our own, especially since we don't usually do anything sporty. However, thanks to Yukki, a refreshing mountain specialist like a manga hero, we were able to walk comfortably and enjoyably.

Yukki had a wealth of knowledge about Yakushima's myths and history, as well as the ecology of the cedar trees and moss. He was also friendly enough to chat about manga, games, and our personal stories, all while keeping an eye on our well-being and maintaining a cheerful atmosphere to prevent boredom.

As someone who hates bugs and absolutely dislikes getting sunburned, I found this 11-hour trekking experience so enjoyable that I want to return to Yakushima and spend more time in nature. Afterward, I did experience intense muscle soreness for three days... but I definitely want to request Yukki as our guide next time. Thank you very much!! (*^▽^*)

38歳、女二人でこちらのツアーに申し込みました。
普段特にスポーツらしいことをしていない私達が20km以上の山道を歩いて自力で帰ってくることができるのか、とかなり不安でしたが、マンガの主人公のように爽やかな山のスペシャリスト、ユッキーさんのおかげで安心して楽しく歩ききることができました。
屋久島の神話や歴史、杉や苔の生態といったガイドとしての知識も豊富だし、はたまたマンガやゲームやお互いのプライベートな話もできるぐらい気さくな方で、私達の体調を気遣いながら飽きさせないように明るい空気を作り続けて下さいました。
虫嫌い、日焼け絶対イヤの完璧インドアの私がまた屋久島に行って自然の中で過ごしたいと思えるほど楽しい11時間のトレッキングでした。
その後、三日間はものすごい筋肉痛でしたが…
次回も是非ユッキーさんにガイドをお願いしたいです。

Recently, I participated with my wife. Although it was a bit cloudy that day, once we dove into the sea, a blue world unfolded before us, and it didn't matter at all. It was my first time snorkeling, so I had some anxiety, but thanks to the kind support of the instructor, I was able to enjoy it with peace of mind. Maybe next time I'll try diving!

The forecast said it would start raining in the early afternoon, but we began our hike at 5:30 under light rain. There were five of us, a mix of men and women, all beginners and relatively close in age, ranging from those in their early 30s to those in their 40s, along with our guide. It was a bit foggy in Shiratani, but it didn't rain heavily, so we managed to get to Taiko Rock while using umbrellas to shield ourselves. At Taiko Rock, the visibility wasn't completely gone, and we were able to take commemorative photos.

As we descended from Tsuji Pass to the Torokko Path, the weather cleared up a bit, which slowed our pace slightly. From the Torokko Path to Okubo Trail and Wilson's Stump, we picked up the pace a little, and we had lunch around 11:30. The rain held off, so we were able to eat without umbrellas. We passed by people who were just starting to descend from the Jomon Sugi course, and when our guide mentioned that we were coming from Shiratani over Tsuji Pass, they all seemed surprised (with reactions mixed between admiration and disbelief).

The ascent was quite tough, but we persevered and reached Jomon Sugi around 12:30. After that, it was just a descent. After turning back, the rain started to come down heavily, just as the forecast predicted. From the area near the elementary school, where the Torokko Path becomes just the ties, we got soaked from the rain. We continued walking quietly and finally arrived at the Arakawa Trailhead at 16:40! We finished in 11 hours and 10 minutes, which was quite a bit longer than initially planned.

予報では昼過ぎから降り出すとのことでしたが、朝から小雨が降る中での5:30白谷スタートとなりました。30代前半に見える方からアラフォーまで割と年も近く、初心者ばかりの男女5名とガイドさん。白谷では多少ガスっていましたが、本降りまではならず、傘差してしのぎながら、太鼓岩まではまず順調でした。太鼓岩でも全く見えないてほどでもなく、記念撮影も出来ました。辻峠からトロッコ道までのくだりで晴れてきたからか、若干のペースダウン。トロッコ道から大株歩道、ウィルソン株まで若干のペースアップして頂き、11:30頃昼食。雨ももってくれて傘なしで食べれました。縄文杉のみコースの人たちがちょうど下り始める時間帯ですれ違いましたが、白谷から辻峠越えだとガイドさんが告げると一様に驚かれました笑。（感嘆と、アホか、の入り混じったリアクション。）登りは結構キツかったですが、がんばって縄文杉まで到達！！12:30くらいだったでしょうか。後は下るだけ。折り返してから雨が本降りになってきました。予報通りです。トロッコ道も枕木のみになる小学校辺りからは雨でビシャビシャでした。黙々と歩き続けて、結果16:40に荒川登山口に到着！！当初予定よりだいぶまけて、11時間10分でした。

I used this guide for my first trekking experience. Despite feeling anxious, nervous, and sleepy, thanks to the guide's natural escorting, I was able to start the climb.

I felt that the guide really valued our pace above all else. When we were feeling tired, they distracted us with interesting stories about Yakushima's history and nature, quizzes, and personal anecdotes.

As a beginner, I didn’t know the photo spots and forgot to take pictures while focusing on the climb. However, the guide kindly offered to take photos with my digital camera and even provided the data. I think this is a significant recommendation!

Lastly, I believe beginners might feel a lot of anxiety, but even if you forget something, the guide will lend you what you need and help you out. We borrowed a few items ourselves (laughs). I truly felt that this tour was great because of the guide. Thank you, Yuki!

Now that I'm back, I can't imagine trekking without a guide! There was plenty of explanation about the plants like moss and cedar, Yakushima deer, wild birds, and the history of Yakushima, making it feel like an adult social studies field trip! Yuki, our guide who was born and raised in Yakushima, shared fascinating stories about life on the island that are a must-hear♪

Of course, the Shiratani Unsuikyo and Jomon Sugi were amazing, but the meals were also impressive! The side dishes, warm soup, and even beer and shochu were more than I expected for a stay in the mountains. During the freezing cold night, it was a relief to have hot water bottles and hand warmers prepared for us.

I truly appreciated how they matched the pace for my parents, who were reaching their physical limits, and my free-spirited brother. It was astonishing that they even carried my mother's backpack, which was about to topple her over on the steepest part of the climb, despite already carrying a 30-kilogram pack!

As the tour name suggests, it was truly a safe, secure, and incredibly fulfilling experience. Thank you!

苔や杉などの植物、屋久鹿や野鳥、屋久島の歴史についての解説がたっぷりで、まるで大人の社会科見学！屋久島生まれ屋久島育ちのガイドのユッキーさんの、屋久島生活のお話も必聴です♪

白谷雲水峡や縄文杉はもちろんのこと、食事にも感動！おかずや暖かいスープ、更にはビールに焼酎と山中泊とは思えない充実したものでした。
極寒の夜、湯たんぽやホッカイロまで用意されていて助かりました。

体力の限界が来ている両親にも、自由気ままな兄にもペースを合わせていただき本当に助かりました。30キロのザックを持っているのに、一番登りが厳しところで今にも倒れそうな母のザックまで持っていただいたのは驚愕でした！

ツアー名の通り、本当に安心安全超充実なツアーでした。ありがとうございました！

On February 26, I experienced "Night Snorkeling with Bioluminescent Plankton & Starry Sky," and on February 27, I did "Blue Cave Snorkeling."
When I arrived in Okinawa, it was much colder than I expected, and I was worried that I would be shivering the whole time in the water. I had a very cold experience before at another shop where they only provided larger wetsuits, so I was anxious. However, they lent me a hooded vest and helped me find a wetsuit that fit just right.
Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy snorkeling in the winter night sea.
The Blue Cave the next day was also incredibly beautiful, and I was truly moved!!! I was really glad to finally visit the Blue Cave on this tour!!!
The person in charge was very kind and entertaining, and I was able to spend time without any worries and have fun.
The photos I received were also wonderful and became great memories.

2月26日に「夜光虫＆星空ナイトシュノーケリング」を、2月27日に「青の洞窟シュノーケリング」を体験しました。
沖縄へ着くと、思っていたよりとても寒く、海に入ってもずっと震えているのではないかと心配していました。以前、他のショップさんで大きめのウエットスーツしか用意してもらえず、とても寒い経験もあり、不安でした。しかし、フードベストを貸してくださったり、ウエットスーツもちょうど良いサイズのものになるように相談にのってくださいました。
おかげで、冬の夜の海でも楽しんでシュノーケルできました。
また、翌日の青の洞窟もとても綺麗で本当に感動でした！！！このツアーで念願の青の洞窟に行けて、本当に良かったです！！！
担当してくださった方も、大変親切で面白く、不安もなく楽しく過ごすことができました。
頂いた写真も素晴らしくて、とても良い思い出になりました。
本当にありがとうございました。

Went fishing today (March 7, 2016) and had so much fun. Got to drill our own hole, instructions on how to fish and sat in a nice tent. Also gave us handwarmers. Best of all, we went to a restaurant to have it prepared tempura style as an appetizer and ordered lunch...so delicious!

The guides were very attentive and patient. Spent our last day here with lasting memories and wanting to return again. Arigato Jin and Hiro (?)

I had little mountain climbing experience and it was my first time in Yakushima.

First, before participating. They promptly and politely answered my questions. Thanks to that, my anxieties were resolved one after another.

Also, this is the only tour that allows you to visit Jomon Sugi and Kumoi Sato in one day. We experienced severe muscle pain the next day, so it was good that we did it all in one day.

On the day of the tour, it was a time when there were few tourists, and we were the only participants.

Our guide (we were taken care of by the local guide) was very kind. They provided knee support, took photos for us, and offered encouraging words as we slowed our pace... We truly appreciated their help!

The driver was also kind. Even though we arrived late on the way back, they welcomed us warmly.

The number of participants can vary significantly between the off-season and on-season, so the tour situation may change, but everyone involved was wonderful!

Of course, Jomon Sugi and Kumoi Sato are also amazing!

まず、参加前。

オフシーズンとオンシーズンでは参加人数がかなり違うのでツアー状況などは変わるかもしれませんが、関わってくれる方々、素晴らしいです！

朝、早い時間から宿に迎えに来てくださって、屋久島の歴史から、屋久杉、花言葉、植物、コケのことまで細かく教えてくださり、疑問に感じたことなどにもひとつひとつ丁寧に答えて下さり、勉強になりましたし、とても楽しい時間を作ってくださいました。ありがとうございました。

I ordered the tour before starting my trip from Finland to Osaka. The information provided was accurate and details explained well in English by Veltra. I also received an extra email with pick up position translated as it was initially only in Japanese. I don't speak Japanese (yet), but the tour staff (QuickLiner) was very friendly and taking care I found my place in the bus. There was a good break in the midway to skiresourt in a highway rest area where it was possible to buy food and have a 'service break'.

After arriving to Dynaland at about 5am people stayed in the bus waiting the lifts to open at 8am. The skiresort was open from 8am to 4.30pm (Friday). The tour had a lift ticket included for Dynaland lifts but it was possible to include also Takasu snow park (full mountain) lifts with only 500yen extra which really was worth of money. You also needed to pay 500yen deposit for the skisystem keycard, which was refunded when the returned the Keycard.

There are changing rooms and lockers (700yen) so you don't need to travel in skigears. The lockers are automatic and the instructions and functions are Japanese only but there were friendly co-skiiers who provided some help.

Skiing in Dynaland / Takasu was really great and despite my jetlag I had almost 10000m vertical during the day. There was no queus for the lifts and literally you were able to ski "directly to the chair" for the lift-up and your next run.

Dynaland / Takasu has good variety of slopes from beginner level to more advanced levels. I especially enjoyed the Challenge and Champion Routes.

I can recommend this tour if you are based in Osaka / Kioto and want to have a one day skitour nearby.

Even the Japanese local people is taking this tour. The tour guide is so helpful & can speak English.

It was my first time doing serious mountain climbing. I decided on this tour after seeing their website online and feeling reassured. The private tour was great. On the day of the tour, the guide's stories were very interesting, and I really appreciated their thoughtful breaks. It would have been impossible for just the two of us to walk the long distance to Jomon Sugi, but thanks to the guide, we were able to reach the summit safely. I'm really glad I chose this tour and guide.

本格的な登山は初めてでした。
このツアーはネットでホームページを見て、安心できると思い決めました。
貸切ツアーというものよかったです。
当日は、ガイドさんの話もとても面白く、さりげなく休憩してくれた気遣いも、とてもありがたかったです。
夫婦だけでは縄文杉までの長い距離を歩くのは絶対無理ですが、ガイドさんがいてくれたおかげで、無事に登頂できました。

I tried this on January 3rd. I was nervous it would be cold, but with the wetsuits I wasn't cold at all. I've been snorkeling in Hawaii before, but I felt the water was clearer and there were more fish in Okinawa. The staff were really kind, so even if you can't swim, it will be fine.

On January 2nd, we requested a trekking tour to Jomon Sugi. It was our first trekking experience, and despite our lack of stamina and our many demands, our guide accommodated us without any complaints for a long, long time (laughs). We are truly grateful for the high-energy guidance! They were incredibly friendly and kind, making it a very enjoyable trip without any pressure. I experienced it on January 3rd. I was worried it would be cold, but I wasn't cold because I wore a wetsuit. I have tried snorkeling in Hawaii, but I was impressed that there were more beautiful fish in Okinawa. The staff were kind, and it's okay even if you can't swim.

I was worried because the weather had been bad until the day before. However, on the day itself, there were some waves, but the weather improved, which was great. The sun was hidden by clouds just before it sank below the horizon, but I was able to see a beautiful sunset. I also got to hear some fun stories, and now I want to try the night tour next time.

でも当日は少し波はありましたが、天気も回復して良かったです。
水平線に沈む寸前に雲に隠れてしまいましたが、きれいな夕日が見れました。

It was a rainy day for canoeing and hiking, but thanks to the warm soba and drinks provided, I was completely soaked yet felt no cold at all. I also encountered many plants and animals that are not found in Honshu, which was very satisfying. I recommend participating in comfortable pants and such.

The guide was very kind and cheerful. I felt the service was good as they sent the photos taken on the same day. It seems to get crowded in the summer, but from October to November, the weather is not cold and you can fully enjoy the scenery. I highly recommend this tour.

当日は雨のカヌー、ハイキングでしたが温かいそばと飲み物を用意して頂いたのもあり、びしょ濡れでしたが全然寒くなかったです。また、トレッキング中に本州には居ない動植物ともたくさん出会えまして満足です。歩き易いパンツ等で参加がオススメです。

ガイドさんはとても親切で明るい方でした。撮った写真も当日中に送って頂きましてサービスも良かったと感じました。夏場は混んでいるようですし、10-11月は寒くなくて景色を満喫出来ます。オススメのツアーです。

My first snorkeling experience. I was very nervous, but I was taught carefully, and even as a beginner, I was able to enjoy it. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day, but underwater, it was a completely different world, and I had a blast with my friends! The phantom island felt mystical, as if it were standing right in the middle of the ocean.

初めてのシュノーケリング。とてもドキドキしていましたが丁寧に教えていただき、初心者でも楽しめました。あいにくの曇り空でしたが、海の中は全く関係なく別世界が広がっており、友達と一緒に大はしゃぎ‼幻の島も海のど真ん中に立っているようで神秘的でした。

We went in mid-February. Although it was snowing, in the tent it was warm so we could focus on the fishing.
First we made a hole in the ice, set up chairs and then started fishing like they told us, and we caught fish! It was kind cool being on the ice like that too.
In the kitchen area they will make tempura out of the smelt you catch for free, and we also had lunch their as the lunch sets were tasty and reasonably priced.

The weather was nice, and trekking while listening to the sound of the river was truly healing. I thought it would be easy since it was a short trek, but there were times when I felt it was harder than trekking to Jomon Sugi because we kept moving without taking breaks. I unexpectedly got sore muscles from the 150-minute Yakusugi Land course the day before, and I was worried about the course to Taiko Rock, but thanks to the guide's enjoyable conversation and kind, attentive guidance, I was able to hike comfortably.

We left the hotel at 9 AM, which allowed us to take our time, and that was one of the reasons I chose this tour.

On the day of the hike, we were blessed with good weather, and we didn't encounter any rain, making it easy to walk. However, it would have been even better if it had been sunny at Taiko Rock.

The Forest of Mononoke was mystical and healing. I want to watch the movie "Princess Mononoke" when I get back. Actually, I haven't seen it yet! (laughs)

前日のヤクスギランド150分コースで不覚にも筋肉痛になってしまい、心配された太鼓岩までのコースでしたが、ガイドさんの楽しい会話と親切、丁寧な案内で快適に山歩きできました。
9時にホテル出発だったので、ゆっくりできたのもこのツアーを選んだ理由です。
当日はお天気にも恵まれ、雨に合う事もなかったので歩きやすかったです。
ただ太鼓岩で晴れていたらもっと最高だったのになあ～

帰ってから映画もののけ姫を見たいと思います
実はまだ見てないんですよね～（笑)

It was our family's first trip to Yakushima with four members. We had a guided tour by Yoshisune from the Yakushima guide service, and we trekked to Jomon Sugi as a family. It was our first trekking experience, but thanks to the calm and appropriate guidance, we were able to complete the 11-hour trek with peace of mind. Everything was a very valuable experience. Since it’s a long trek, I think it’s best to experience it while you’re still a bit younger.

家族4人で初の屋久島旅行でした
屋久島ガイドツアーの吉筋さんにガイドしていただき、家族4人で縄文杉トレッキングをしました。
はじめてのトレッキングでしたが、適切な落ち着いたガイドでのお陰で安心して11時間のトレッキングを最後までやり遂げる事ができました。
全てがとても貴重な体験でした。長時間のトレッキングなので、少しでも若いうちに体験するのが良いと思います。

The tour guide was interesting and provided great explanations. It was also nice that he offered to take our photos.

ツアーを案内してくれるお兄さんの説明がおもしろくてよかった。
私達の写真もとりましょうかとすすんで言ってくれたのもよかった。
