Kaanapali
Kaanapali Beach, once a retreat for Hawaiian Royalty, offers West Maui's signature beach featuring over three miles of white sand, clear water and luxurious resorts. Nearby is the open air Whalers Village featuring boutique shops, restaurants and a famous whaling museum. A popular site for divers who can be seen launching off the beach's northernmost cliffs at night, Kaanapali is also home to two championship golf courses for your teeing pleasure.
Lahaina
For guests staying in West Maui, Lahaina was once the "Royal Capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom". Today, this historic whaling village, with its old grog shops and ships' chandlers, is home to the island's finest restaurants, shops, seaside luaus and art galleries. A few well-preserved historic sites remain in the area, such as the US Seaman's Hospital and the Pioneer Inn. Explore this coastal town or jump on a ferry for easy access to the islands of Molokai and Lanai.
Kahului
Central Maui is home to Kahului Airport and Kahului Harbor, where pleasure cruises dock and disembark. Enjoy some of the island's best outdoor markets, offering fresh island produce, flowers, foodie souvenirs and crafts. On the west side of Kahului is beautiful Wailuku and the entrance to the West Maui Mountains. Here you'll find charming local family shops and the beginning of Iao Valley, once a royal burial ground for ancient Hawaiian chiefs.
Kihei
The sunny Kihei area on the southwest side of Maui is best known for its long stretch of beaches. It's the perfect opportunity to relax or take an ocean adventure. In fact, Kihei Harbor offers the quickest access to world-famous Molokini Islet, where snorkeling and scuba conditions remain pristine year round. Nearby, you can also find the Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea, where you can learn all about indigenous island marine life, and Maluaka Beach, where you can snorkel at Turtle Town!
Wailea / Makena
Guests staying in Wailea and Makena get to enjoy some of Maui's best beaches, perfect for any water adventure or simply soaking in the warmth of the sun. Nearby, you'll also find a number of resort spas, fun shops, world-class golf courses & beautiful Makena Beach—a popular spot for locals who appreciate the scattering clouds above Haleakala that often provide cool coverage on the beach below.
