My husband and I loved everything about the experience…friendly, knowledgeable, hands on staff who truly gave each of the participants support and care. This was my first time to snorkel and Captain Robin stayed by my side until I was ready to snorkel without any assistance. There was time to paddle-board and float. It was a wonderful experience and exceeded our expectations.

Excellent staffs and trip

The driver Kaplan is so nice, he will introduce many hidden gem restaurants in Honolulu, and I tried the Yakitori restaurant right away after I finished the tour, the food is so good! Thanks to Kaplan.
For snorkeling, the staff will guide you when you are snorkeling all the time, for them safety is the priority. Also, they will provide some rice balls, energy bars, snacks, hot coffee, and fruits in the boat. You can always go by boat when you are tired.
Strongly recommendended!

Amazing Crew

The Best Tour in Oahu- a must do!
Reviewed by: Alaskawayne, 2023/04/12Wow! To start. They picked us up at our hotel to start. Then drive us to Kaneohe sandbar. Next a beautiful short boat ride to two barges loaded with sea toys. Beautiful shallow sandy beaches that are user friendly for small children to seniors. The reef snorkeling is easy, very well guided and watched in smaller groups. We swam with turtles. Captain Danny went out of his way to share local marine knowledge and make sure all got to see turtles. This was our second time- we also sent our daughter and grandchild. They immediately fell in love with the tour and friendly crew. They are like family to us now. We will always come and swim with the turtles only with Captain Bruce's Team.
We have tried others and this family prefers and highly recommends Captain Bruce's based on experience. I am a former diver for the Seattle Aquarium, researcher for Washington State Department of Fisheries, Rescue Diver, Assistant Dive Instructor Advanced Open Water and lastly Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Simply said "Captain Bruce's does it right". I send my grandkids there Thank you Captain Bruce's! We love you!!! My only request is that you start another tour a bit more advanced for experienced snorkelers.

Amazing experience

The Captain was very attentive (I didn’t know how to snorkel but he took the time to try and guide me) the staff was super helpful and informative. They provided snacks and coffee. The water was beautiful and we saw lots of turtles. I would highly recommend this tour you will love it.

Highly recommend!! Fantastic time!

The crew than walked us out to coral water with Google, and lifevests for safety. We saw many beautiful fish and found about 3-12"turtles mostly resting in the coral reefs. It was excellent time. Highly recommend.

Bruce Sandbar crew

The crew was always right there to help all family's feel very important and helped in make a everlasting memory for all ages.
This was my family's first trip out on the Ocean. The crew helped us find the best places to see all underwater sea life fish and coral. We got to get right up to all the Turtles as they were resting in there natural environment or help us all swimming around to make these memories of a life time. I would love to be able to come back so I can make reservations with this same group.

Amazing experience!

We had an amazing time and saw a lot of turtles and fish, Casey was nothing short of amazing!! He was guiding us and helped ease my wife's fear of the water so that she could enjoy snorkeling a bit, really appreciated the help and hospitality!

It’s not easy finding activities that teenagers will enjoy and all 3 of mine loved it! We would definitely do this again! I would recommend having a camera or GoPro that works underwater! Sandbar Day Trip

Such a fun experience

We arrived to the sandbar to other guides with SUP, floaties and little floats for my 3 year old to snorkel which was a nice surprise. Would 100% recommend to anyone. Afterwards we enjoyed some Dole Whip at the pier.

Beautiful Sandbar but waves dependent on weather
Reviewed by: Mitch, 2021/07/28We went out on a cloudy morning accompanied by showers. The waves were choppy too. The sandbar was beautiful despite the weather, didn’t see any turtles on the sandbar but my daughter and husband who went with the snorkeling group saw turtles by the reef. The current was stronger there though but Kevin, the tour guide made sure everyone was safe. There was not enough paddle boards nor floaties for everyone on board and some groups hugged theirs till the end. We shared our paddle board with another couple. Trevor was okay but he tended to give attention to certain groups whereas Kevin was the one whom I have noticed that was attentive to everyone.
Aloha Mitch, we're very sorry for the disappointment for not being able to see the turtles. Mostly they are in the reef area, sometimes it can be seen around the boat. Hopefully on your next visit, you'll see more turtles

Great for beginners!

Rain comes and goes but the sandbar and the ocean was still warm and beautiful. I would like to thanks Trevor for helping me overcome my fear of the ocean overall. Lol. Without him I wouldn’t have gone beyond the sandbar. You rock!! I had the pleasure of seeing turtles, small colorful fishes, and of course the beautiful reef. Thank you Captain Bruce for such a great hospitality. I will definitely come back with a group of families in the near future!

A must do if you're visitting Oahu
Reviewed by: Kat, 2021/07/14I've been to Oahu many times and had always wanted to go to the sandbar but didn't get the chance to until now.
I booked the morning tour on July 8th of this year, and boy it was a beautiful day. It was cloudy the day I arrived in Oahu so I was worried about the weather.
Captain Bruce had 2 boats full of tourists out that day. We didn't meet Captain Bruce. Instead we got Captain Robin and his assistant Irvin.
Both men were so nice and helpful. They let you go off on your own, but at the same time, kept an eye on you from a distance, to make sure you don't hurt yourself or get in trouble when you're out in the water.
There were lots of watersports to do, all provided free of charge. Chips and non-alcoholic beverages were also provided free of charge.
I had a wonderful time.
The views were stunning anywhere you look. I want to go back there again. I will pick them again. Their price is cheaper compared to the others, and the staffs are awesome friendly people.
It bothered me that many people left without tipping the crew. That was not cool.

Huge plus that it was so organized and there was so many amenities (floaters, snorkel gear, snacks and drinks too). They sent out a list of things to remember to bring which is super helpful as well. Highly recommend activity!
Reviewed by: Minh, 2021/06/05We heard about this activity through an acquaintance, so I looked into it. I have been on Oahu 8+ times and have never done this activity. Highly recommend this activity as it was easy check in at the dock. The ride to sandbar itself was a quick ride on the boat. Staff were very friendly and you are able to bring your own alcoholic drinks onto the sandbar. Enjoyed our time snorkeling and hanging out in the sandbar itself. Very unique experience!
