This was a great way to start our family Hawaiian vacation. There was something for everyone to do. We made fresh flower lei's, learned to play the ukelele, and had hula lessons. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The lunch buffet had a very nice selection and was ono (yummy).
Two hours didn't seem quite long enough. There were so many activities that we didn't get much opportunity to just sit back and enjoy the view of Honolulu from the sea. I would recommend this for a family activity. I would go again, next time for the whale watching season.

It was my first night cruise in Hawaii, and the night view from the sea was wonderful. I was fairly satisfied with the meal as well. The boat didn't sway, so I think it would be enjoyable even for families with small children.

I participated in the Three Star Couple Plan (without transportation). Since it’s a couple's seating, I was of course satisfied with the seating arrangement. If you want to make the most of the free drink tickets, it's better to order early. Once the event starts, it becomes difficult for the waitstaff to come around, so it's also a good idea to hold onto your tickets and get drinks yourself.

The dancers were all very enthusiastic about providing service; they would suddenly join in when we were taking photos and pose with us, which made it a lot of fun.

Regarding transportation, if you get used to the area during the latter part of your stay, you can use the free trolley and get around cheaply without needing the transportation plan. If you have a JCB card, be sure to bring it with you. Also, if you do a little research on the general bus routes, you can go buy malasadas even without a car!

The meal included steak and crab, which made me feel luxurious♪ The meat was tender and delicious!! After dessert, we danced to the music with the staff and other participants♪♪ It was so much fun, but I was disappointed that the dance time was short... Also, the view from the ship was amazing!! Right after boarding, the sea was shining blue, and gradually it was illuminated by the sunset, which was beautiful☆ We took photos at the beginning, and the photo frame was wonderful, so I purchased it as a keepsake☆

I took my girlfriend to this dinner cruise cuz I heard great things about it. It def. met my expectation, but I wish I had more money to do 5star. We did three star, and it was still good, but if you are really into that person you are with, you should do 5 star (no offense to my gf... next time...) i had a chance to peek the top floor, and it looked really nice inside. Neverthless, we enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks!

On the last day of our honeymoon, we participated in an event. About 10 minutes before boarding, we were welcomed with a hula dance at the ship. Once we set sail, we could go out on deck during dinner breaks to take photos and enjoy ourselves. It drizzled a bit, but thanks to that, we saw a beautiful rainbow. After watching the sunset, we returned to the ship, and the show began. At the end of the show, all participants joined in dancing, and we had a wonderful time, creating great memories.

I participated in 2007.
I recommend it for those staying in Hawaii on Independence Day.

I think it would be nice to go a little early, have a meal at Hooters in the Aloha Tower Marketplace, and then join the event.

On the way back, there is a tremendous traffic jam, so if you take a taxi back to the hotel, the meter will go up quickly, so you should be careful.

Dinner cruise on the Star of Honolulu. It was very nice with a romantic atmosphere. The show was great, but the dinner was delicious too. My husband and I participated in the Star Sunset Dinner & Show. The band and the show had a fun Hawaiian atmosphere, and the staff's service was excellent, leaving us very satisfied. Above all, the view and sunset from the boat were amazing! Seeing Honolulu from offshore was a refreshing and beautiful sight, and I think it's highly recommended for repeat visitors to Hawaii. You can also see Diamond Head quite closely. The sunset viewed from the boat was truly beautiful and moving. Enjoying dinner, the show, and the sunset all at once made the two hours fly by. Next time, I’d like to upgrade and participate in the Three Star experience.

We found the experience a total refreshment. From the loading on the ship to the disembarking, the personal attention to our needs was delightful. We found the food to be excellent. The only down side we found was their taste in music, but to each his/her own.
We found the Vow Renewal part not as exciting as anticipated but well worth the expense.

I decided to take a trip to hawaii and include this lovely romantic cruise ship for my boyfriend's 30th birthday.If was very intimate and romantic. We absolutely loved the experience and the staff. Kalani and Joe were such a joy. I would strongly recommend the 5 star honolulu dinner cruise to any couple celebrating a special or intimate event.

we absolutely had a great time on the cruise we saw whale activity just as promised. The only two things that I would suggest in the future is that you may want to utilize more of the boats space with the activities you provided, people were too crowded. the buffet needed to be held open longer and have food available in supple amounts those of us who were told we could watch the whales longer and that the buffet would be there came back to limited food and a quick clean up.

My bother and I went on the Oahu Day Cruise on April 10th 2008 just for an activity for the day. The cruise was an amazing experience with great staff and good people. The whales were amazing that day, so there was no lack of seeing one. I would highly recommend this activity during april or wnever there are whales to watch. It was quite an experience. Thanks to Hawaii Activities, and the Star of Honolulu crew.

The meal, the activities alongside the watching, and the prices were all satisfactory. We saw whales several times!! However, they didn't jump as much as in the photos. It felt more like their fins were rolling with the waves. Still, being able to experience whales up close like this is truly unique to Hawaii.

As his travel agent I opted to use Hawaii Activities. We booked the Sunset Dinner Cruise and Tom added the private dinning options with the complimentary professional picture.

I received a picture text at 2:30am from Tom indicating that Conni had said yes, taken by a cruise line staff!

My clients had an absolutely wonderful time with memories that will carry them through their life together.

The Travel DRS will in the future recommend this cruise to any/all my clients as an option for their Hawaii vacation.

I took my girl on this 3 star dinner cruise and we had a really great time. She thought watching the sunset out by diamond head was really romantic - bonus points for me! I never ate a whole lobster before and it was awesome. The show was pretty sweet too because it is a small stage and they are really close to you and they have cool costumes. We briefly saw some whales, but did not really get close enough to get any good pictures. Food was okay. The air conditioning was on high and everyone, even the mem on board were complaining about how cold it was. It was cool and windy out on deck, but people were going out to try to warm up. It really distracted from the enjoyment of the cruise.

Our Whale Watching Experience3/1/08

The Whale watch cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu was enjoyable. We did see whales from a distance and near the boat. We also saw spinner dolphins at the beginning of the cruise.
The other activities on board besides the whale watching was entertaining. My daughter enjoyed making leis for us and herself.
The lunch that was served was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed returning to the buffet for a second helping of the salads. My daughter enjoyed the fruits and cookies that were served. The price of drinks were a bit pricey.

I want to thank the staff who helped me cleanup after my daughter when she became seasick on the cruise. They also stopped by our table afterwards and inquired about how she was doing. Thanks for your concern. Thanks also to the passengers who helped me as well with their kleenex and kindness.

I would recommend this cruise to anyone who wants an off island excursion. It shows the island's beauty from a different viewpoint.

The cruise was nice and we DID see whales! Not a lot of them, but a few spouts and breaches. Too far to really get any type of photo. The lunch is well worth it - better food than what we had at the Polynesian Center Luau!!! I'd recommend to friends who are on first time visits.

It was my first time going whale watching. After doing some research, I found that booking through Alan was the cheapest option. We participated in the no-lunch course, and it was the right choice! Although they say it doesn't sway much, it still rocked a bit... If you're prone to seasickness, it's best to take some motion sickness medication in advance. Oh, they also provide motion sickness medication on board. Coffee, tea, and water are free!

The weather was nice on the day of the trip, and the interpreter mentioned, "It's the season, so we see whales every day," so I was hopeful... but no whales appeared, no matter how long we waited. Other guests seemed to be getting restless too. There were hula, ukulele, and lei-making classes offered, but I couldn't bring myself to participate since we hadn't seen any whales yet... (Other guests joined in and seemed to be enjoying it!) Just as we were nearing the return time, we finally saw a mother and calf whale breaching! However... they were far away... We only caught a glimpse of them a few times. I thought, "Is this really it?" But, since they are wild animals and there are regulations against getting within 100 meters, it can't be helped. My expectations were too high. Still, even from a distance, watching the mother and calf whales swimming leisurely made me feel quite happy!

I recommend bringing a light long-sleeve shirt when boarding. It can get quite cold on the water due to the strong wind.

初ホールウォッチングでした。いろいろ調べた結果、アランちゃんから申し込むのが一番安かったです。私達は昼なしコースで参加しました。そして正解でした！揺れにくい、とは言ってもやっぱり揺れました･･･。船に弱い方は、あらかじめ酔い止めを飲んでおいたほうが良いでしょう。あ、船内でも酔い止めをくれますよ。コーヒー、紅茶、水は無料です♪

当日は天気もよく、通訳の方が「今はシーズンなので毎日鯨を見れてます」と仰っていたので期待していたのですが。。。待てど暮らせど鯨現れず。。。ほかのお客さん達も時間を持て余しているようでした。フラ、ウクレレ、レイ教室も催されていましたが、まだ鯨を見れてないのに･･･と私は参加する気持ちになれませんでした。（ほかのお客さん達は参加していました。楽しんでいましたよ！）そして、もう帰港時間間際･･･というところでやっと親子鯨のブリーチングを見れました！ただ・・・遠い・・・。ぷしゅーっていうのと、背中チラリが何回か見れただけ。あれ？これで終わりなの？と思ってしまいました。でも、野生ですし、100Ｍ以内近づいたらいけない規制があるようで、仕方がないですね。期待が大きすぎました。でも、遠くでしたが、ゆったり泳いでいる親子くじらを見て、なんだか幸せ気分になれました♪

乗船するときは、薄手の長袖を持っていかれたほうがいいと思います。海の上って風が強く結構寒いです。

The weather was bad on the day of the event, but by sunset, the clouds cleared, and we were able to see a beautiful sunset. The staff's service was also very good, and we enjoyed the meal.

As mentioned in other participants' experiences, it was cold inside the boat. I'm really glad I brought a jacket after reading those reviews. I'm not sure if this is usual, but I recommend bringing a jacket.
