My grandmother and I chose this as something different to do from the sightseeing and beach time we had been enjoying. The transportation is great even for those of us that are familiar with the island, and well worth the additional cost. The seating area is packed and truly would be more enjoyable with fewer people crammed in. The food and service were far better than expected and the "All You Can Eat" crab truly lives up to the name. The boat from an external view is beautiful and makes a striking appearance out on the open ocean. On the decks there are areas that could be maintained better, especially the areas that food is served from and are in plain view of guests. The top deck is amazing for catching sight of the city line and would be a great place to spend a romantic evening with a significant other. Overall this is something that I am glad we experienced and would be willing to take others on.

This was my second time participating. Last time it was a three-star experience. This time I tried a one-star, but I preferred the three-star. It must be the difference in price. The food wasn't that different, but the show was different. The three-star experience had more flair. However, the staff's smiles were great, and I was satisfied as I enjoyed my meal.

We participated on the last night of our honeymoon. The place was fully booked, and we reserved a couple's seat as an option. The seats were close to each other, but it wasn't bothersome. We received welcome champagne and two drinks each. The food was average, but the steak was tender and delicious. We enjoyed the view of Waikiki Beach from the deck, and the sunset was beautiful. The scenery of the sunset from the boat was amazing. By chance, we also saw a swimming sea turtle. The show was lively, and in the end, everyone sang and danced, which was fun. I was happy to receive a commemorative photo at the end. If you go without transportation, I recommend boarding the boat at 4:45 PM. Since we boarded right away, we could listen to the boat's explanation slowly and choose our appetizers at a leisurely pace. (After 5 PM, the transportation people arrive all at once, so there was a line to be shown to our seats and to get appetizers.) I recommend this for a great memory of Hawaii.

This is a tour I recommended at a colleague's wedding. I thought it was a fun tour for a large group when I participated before, so I joined this time.

I attended with my grandmother, aunt, and uncle, and everyone was very satisfied! I thought the meat was a bit tough, but everything else was delicious. Above all, I think the service was great. The shuttle bus from the hotel was very helpful as my child fell asleep, and they guided us to a sofa seat at the very end so we could lay the child down when we got on the boat. We were able to use two tables, which was a great help. However, since we were at the back, we couldn't see the stage at all, but I accepted that since we had a child with us. The dancers performed right next to our seats and even came over to take pictures with us, which showed great service.

The taste of the food wasn't particularly remarkable, but we enjoyed visually appealing dishes like a whole lobster and steak. The finale on stage was a blast, and we had a very enjoyable time. I think it's a good value tour.

In May, the departure was at 5:30 PM (sunset was just after 7:00 PM). We drove to Pier 8, where the Aloha Tower ticket office is located, and checked in around 4:30 PM. It was a trip for two, and thanks to arriving early, we were seated by the window. The charter buses for groups started to arrive around 5:00 PM, and many people boarded until just before departure, so I recommend early check-in for couples and families as the tables fill up on a first-come, first-served basis. It was a buffet style, but with unlimited roast beef and various dishes, I thought the cost performance was better than a course meal.

The food was much better than I expected. I thought the all-you-can-eat crab would be just a bonus, but it was quite good. The foreign couple sitting next to me kept going back for more. The night view was a bit more lonely than I imagined, but the show on the boat was great. In the end, the Japanese ladies were also getting into the groove and dancing. I was impressed by the staff's guidance. I thought it would be chaotic with so many people leaving, but we were efficiently directed to the bus and quickly returned to the hotel. The ratio of Japanese guests wasn't that high, so it felt like being abroad.

We participated as a family of four. My mother, who is in a wheelchair, was also accommodated. The five-star experience included a greeting from the captain, which gave us a bit of a celebrity feel. Fortunately, the weather was nice (though the wind was really strong), and we were able to see a few whales. However, it was indeed difficult to capture them with my iPhone. In the photos, they appear distant, but in reality, they were a bit closer. Filming was also challenging because it was hard to predict where the whales would appear. I missed several opportunities to actually see them because I was so focused on filming. At first, there were announcements indicating the direction to look, but by the time we were heading back, there were no announcements. Just before we arrived, we spotted a whale near the shore, but it's unclear how many people noticed it. There were free activities like lei-making and ukulele lessons on the first floor of the boat, so most people participated. My sister and I didn't join and were on the second or third floor, just gazing out at the sea. I think it was mentioned that the Star of Honolulu tends to sway, but I didn't get seasick. Since the meal wasn't included, we freely ate what we had bought at the supermarket. To be honest, I wished I could have seen more whales jumping out of the water. Lastly, I believe the shuttle service would have cost an extra $12, so we took The Bus number 19 to the event location. My wife, 11 month old daughter, and boarded the Star of Honolulu, on the One Star package. The night started with a Mai Tai, which was quite strong (coming as a surprise to me as in my experience, “welcome drinks” tend to be very watered down), and we were taken to our table with our appetizers ready and waiting for us. The food was fantastic! I’m going to be honest; I had low expectations for the food. All you can eat crab on a ship, generally does not mean “high quality” to me. And boy was I proven wrong. The crab especially was very tasty, and my wife and I definitely took advantage of the “all you can eat” description. The show was also very fun to watch, with examples of dances of different styles from around Polynesia. The service from our waiter, Chad, was excellent as well: my water was never empty, empty plates were taken as soon as I was finished, and the crab kept coming. I’ve already suggested the Star of Honolulu to family members for when they visit.

It was very good. We used the shuttle from Aulani on February 27 with four children and three adults. We had a lot of fun. I recommend it. There were events on the boat, such as hula dance and ukulele workshops, which were enjoyable. It was unfortunate that the hula dance instructor felt sick from seasickness. However, the boat didn't sway as much as I expected. I think the lunch was reasonably priced.

Perhaps it was the right season, as we were able to see whales multiple times. Also, it was great to see Waikiki and Diamond Head from the ocean perspective, as I had never seen them that way before.

In any case, the children were happy, and I highly recommend it!

The morning started off with a leisurely pickup, and the bus was comfortable. The boat was very clean, making it enjoyable for families, couples, and friends alike!

I had heard in a post that we might only see small whales, so I honestly approached it with a cruising mindset, but we were fortunate enough to see mother and baby whales jumping one after another!

The lunch was delicious, and the afternoon workshops, including ukulele, hula, and lei-making, were fun and enjoyed by everyone.

At the end, they asked if there were any birthday celebrants or newlyweds, and when the honeymooners gathered in front, they sang Hawaiian songs with a guitar, creating a wonderful time for everyone to celebrate.

I highly recommend it!

I participated in a dinner with all-you-can-eat steak and crab. We departed in the evening and were able to see the sun setting over the ocean.
