Upon check-in, you will receive a flower lei greeting like in the days of old, and while you sip on a mai tai, enjoy the breathtaking views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. Dinner will be served at your table, so you can sit back and enjoy, as you are transported across the islands of Polynesia with performances from Hawaii, Tahiti, and of course, Samoa and the epic fire knife dance.

What is the difference between the packages?

Aha Aina Luau offers two different luau packages, and they all include a souvenir lei greeting, dinner buffet, and evening luau show.

• Premium Package: Includes premium seating located in the first row of the oceanfront tables which are closest to the stage, three drink tickets and an upgraded lei greeting.
• Standard Package: Includes a kukui nut lei greeting, standard seating, and three drink tickets.

Local expert tips

• This activity books up quickly, and we highly suggest booking at 2 to 4 weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons like summer and spring break.
• If you are staying in Waikiki and do not want to drive an hour or more to other luaus, Aha Aina will be your best choice.
• Although the luau is no longer offering a buffet dinner in an effort to keep both guests and employees safe, a gourmet three-course dinner will now be served at your table. The delicious menu has been tailored by expert hotel chefs, and includes a variety of different types of island cuisine.
• Although children 4 years old and under are free, toddlers 2 to 4 years old will have their own seat, but will not be provided a meal, and infants who are a year old and younger will not be provided a seat or a meal.
• Recommend attire: Resort casual or Aloha wear, with a light jacket or sweater. Flat shoes are a better option than high heeled shoes since the grounds are uneven with grass.

Pre-show activities

Normally a variety of traditional Hawaiian time-honored activities are presented, but due to restrictions some activities might be temporarily unavailable.

• Kapa making (a cloth made of pounded bark)
• Poi pounding (poi is made by cooking and pounding the taro root)
• Na lawai'a (tending of fishing tools)

The Royal Hawaiian is a large pink resort located right on the main beach strip in Waikiki, and is walking distance from most Waikiki hotels. It is also easily accessible via taxi and ride shares. If you wish to drive, complimentary valet or self-parking is included at the hotel.
