One could almost feel as if being present at a Royal ball, after all, that is exactly what this Hotel was built for in the first place; which made the atmosphere quite unique.
As you approach the lawn and with your first drink you are invited to spooned portions of fresh Ahi Poke, Kalua Pig, Lomi Salmon, and Poi. Story-teller Joe starts by introducing himself and went directly into explaining what ingredients each spoon held and how it applied to Hawaiian post-western contact life. At the same time others from the hula halau demonstrated how kapa was made, inks were produced and designs printed. Ropes were intertwined by hand and foot and other chores were explained by docent-like-ladies-in-waiting. The Pupu platter was my favorite with the skewered chicken, crab cakes, and Butterfish that melted in your mouth.

Had a Fabulous time!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2009/09/20This was such a unique and a culture learning experience. We had a great time celebrating the history of Hawaii and its main events that occurred in the past. The food was delicious and quiet filling. The appetizer and the entree were my favorites. YUM! As you entered the Aha Aina, you're welcome with the many smiles from the staff, with their signature drink and their delicious pupus of Kalua pork, ahi poke, or poi. The staff were friendly, and the service was excellent! We will definitely recommend this event to our friends and family. We will do this again on our next visit to Hawaii!

A wonderful evening!
Reviewed by: Kiara and Jacque, 2007/11/14I wish we had gone to the Royal Hawaiian Luau first since we went to another one on our first night in Honolulu and it was nothing compared to this one! The food was excellent! The teriyaki beef was tender, the kalua pork was incredibly flavorful (and they had a whole roasted pig as well!), the mahimahi was some of the best I have ever had and I even tried a bit of the poi (wasn't great, but I had to try it again!). The service was quick and friendly and the drinks were very yummy.
I liked the fact that the show is very engaging and all of the performers just shined on stage. It is a bit pricier than some of the other luaus, but it is definitely worth it!

Royal Hawaiian Luau Best food
Reviewed by: manik70, 2007/06/27We have been to 3 other Luau's the food was the best here. We had 11 in our party Parents, Grandparents, and Children. We had all booked seperatly but the staff did place us together and were extremely helpfull and attentive. Last year we went to Paradise cove and for the kids it has a lot more to do. But this was close to our hotel and we all had a good time. It was money and time well spent.

So romantic!
Reviewed by: Hibiscus Hunny, 2007/05/10The last time I came to Honolulu, I went to Germaine's Luau (ICK!) and since I had such a miserable time with them, I decided to give luaus another chance and headed over to the Royal Hawaiian Luau with my boyfriend. I am SO glad that I went since it was a great experience and we had a really good time. The food was very delicious, the show was top-notch and it was really romantic.

luaus r kewl
Reviewed by: coolster212, 2007/05/10Some friends and I got together to attend the Royal Hawaiian Luau at the large beautiful pink hotel of Waikiki and it was great. We were greeted with beautiful orchid flower leis at the entrance of the luau by the performers and immediately served a welcome mai tai. The whole setting of the feast was decorated with class and Oh-My-Goodness, the beach and the sunset was perfect to capture a photographic memory.
The host of the show did not waste anytime in welcoming all the guests preparing us for a wonderful feast and show. The food was delicious. There were several isles of Honolulu's most popular food and desert and lets not forget the huge roasted pig that everyone looked eager to taste. The Polynesian performers were brilliant. They were graceful, energetic, and very entertaining. They got the audience involved and let visitors get an experience their first hukilau and Tahitian dancing. The Polynesian performers were awesome and very energetic. They really put on a great show.

I was orginally going to attend the luau by myself but i was able to talk my friend into going with me and i thought that it was awesome. i loved all of the hawaiin dances. but i thought that the fire dance guy (forgot what it is really called) was the coolest. I have never had hawaiin styled food and i liked how there was a wide varity of hawaiian food for me to try. i enjoyed it all very much. thank you.

An elegant and fun experience!
Reviewed by: Flower Bunny, 2007/04/21First of all, may I just say YUMMM!? If there is one thing that this luau does well, it is the food! The buffet lines were groaning under the weight of all of the delicacies and the tables were laden with a bounty of food. There were tossed, macaroni and shrimp salads, an incredibly yummy fruit salad mixed with haupia, a perfect lomi-lomi salmon (not too salty like how a lot of places make it), some kalua pork which was insanely juicy, of course there was some of the ever-popular mahi-mahi, and my favorite, teriyaki beef that just melted in my mouth! I kept going back for more and even though I was stuffed, I still had enough room for dessert, and thank goodness for that. The guava cake was to-die-for and the macadamia nut cream pie was a little slice of heaven. Yes, it was really THAT good! Out of all the luaus I have to been to so far, the Royal Hawaiian Luau has, by far, the BEST food!
My friends and I were quickly checked in at the ticket counter and then we made our way on the
