Do I need to be able to swim to participate?
  • If you are chartering the Maitai Catamaran for a snorkel sail, all snorkelers MUST be able to swim. Otherwise, day and evening cruises do not require passengers to be able to swim.
Are you required to wear a life jacket for snorkeling?
  • Life jackets are available on board for those who wish to use them but are not required while snorkeling.
What should I wear to this activity?
  • For the tradewind/snorkel sails, wear something comfortable that you will not mind getting wet if a wave splashes the deck. On the sunset/moonlight sails wear something comfortable. As you may have to walk through knee-high surf to board the catamaran, please do not wear anything you would not like to get wet below the knee. A light jacket is nice when the evening gets cooler.
What if I am prone to seasickness?
  • Consider taking an over the counter motion sickness preventative before your cruise if you are worried about sea sickness. Just in case, motion sickness tablets and bracelets are available on-board for a fee.
Are we allowed to bring our own drinks?
  • Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own drinks on board, but no glass bottles (wine is OK) are allowed on the boat.
What type of boat will be used?
  • The "Maitai" is a United States Coast Guard inspected and certified catamaran that seats up to 49 passengers, but is limited to fewer for maximum comfort! With a safe, quiet, environmentally-friendly propulsion system and a specially designed "wing mast," this catamaran reaches incredible speeds. Two large safety nets can be found at the front for lounging and relaxation, and clean bathrooms are available on board.
Will we see whales?
  • Every year Humpback Whales migrate to the warm waters of Hawaii, and although not guaranteed, they are often seen between the months of December and April.
