Join Nani Kai Ocean Adventures, a Top Rated Oahu Eco-Tour Company, for the best whale watching experience on Oahu. Enjoy the comfort and safety of the Kama Hele Kai, a double hulled, power catamaran designed to handle the winter time ocean conditions of the North Shore with ease. There is not a better boat on the North Shore for whale watching. The North Shore of Oahu is a known whale hot spot, often having more whale sightings per trip than any other side of the island! This is because the ocean environment is quieter compared to the busy ocean waters surrounding Honolulu Harbor.

Why Whale Watch On The North Shore?

The North Shore is a well known hot spot for spotting large marine life such as sharks, dolphins and especially Humpback Whales!

More whales come to the North Shore than the South Shore/Honolulu. This is because the North Shore has no commercial ships, Cruise Ships or Military ships. These large ships create an immense amount of underwater noise that is not pleasant to marine mammals such as whales and dolphins. The lack of these large ships means that the underwater environment on the North Shore is much more quiet, peaceful and inviting to our Humpback Whales.

Most whale watch tours on Oahu depart from Honolulu, where most all visitors stay on their vacation. On the Honolulu whale watch tours, it is common for many boats to be around the same pod of whales. You will not see other whale watch vessels around with Nani Kai Ocean Adventures.

The South Shore Whale watch boats are bigger and much more crowded. Limited to 17 passengers, enjoy a more intimate and memorable experience on the North Shore with Nani Kai Ocean Adventures.

What Type of Boat Will We Whale Watch On?

The Kama Hele Kai is a 32 ft, 450 hp power catamaran with an open front observation deck, a covered rear deck and an on-board restroom. The twin hull design of the vessel cuts through the ocean swells providing a smooth and comfortable ride. Being the only power catamaran whale watch on the North Shore, she can cover more ground and find the whales faster than all other boats.
