What should I wear to this activity?
For hiking Diamond Head, wear comfortable clothing suitable for hiking stairs and tennis shoes. Also, wear your bathing suit when you go to Hanauma Bay for snorkeling.
Is this a guided tour?
No, this is a self guided tour and you will not have a guide with you.
Can I bring my own snacks and drinks?
Yes, but water is provided for you.
Is this activity suitable for children?
Yes, definitely, kids love to explore both locations.
Can we schedule our Hanauma Bay and Diamond Head shuttles on different days?
No. The Hanauma Bay and Diamond Head Hike was combined as one package for a discounted rate. If you wish to do the activities on different days, you can do so by booking the tours separately. See Recommended Links for details.
What is the difficulty level of the hike?
The hike is rated Easy to Moderate with a 1.6mi (2.6km) round-trip hike that gains 560 feet of elevation. The hiking trail can be steep and uneven in some areas, and the last 1/10 of a mile is a steep staircase.
Is giving a tip (gratuity) required?
Gratuity is never required, but if you enjoyed your experience a tip is always greatly appreciated!
Why isn't the admission price to Hanauma Bay included in the tour cost?
Admission is collected on location by the State of Hawaii and all proceeds go toward the upkeep of Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve.
When is Hanauma Bay closed?

Do I need to know how to swim to participate?
While it is not required, it is highly recommended to know how to swim. Flotation devices are not provided, so please use caution if you are a non-swimmer.
