Reviewed by: jennfizzy, 2009/08/18The luau was fantastic, however our waitress was bad. we were the last table to get our food, and were still trying to eat dessert when it was over, also, they need to set up a better system for the waitstaff to get alcohol drinks instead of them waiting in line with everyone else.

Fun way to spend an evening
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2009/01/28The food was delicious, the drinks were awesome (thanks CoCo!) and the atmosphere was really festive. The activities were truly enjoyable. The crowd got into everything from the net casting to the dancing. Watching the sunset was very cool. Loved it!

Good cultural luau
Reviewed by: Biochembelle, 2009/01/05Transportation was convenient and our guide Trina made the trip entertaining. At the luau, they were very organized in dividing the guests into their seating areas. The crafts during free time and the staff assisting were excellent, though an hour wasn't enough time to get to all of the crafts. Dinner was very tasty, especially the kalua pork. As a previous reviewer has mentioned on this site, the drink coupons are valid only for certain drinks, but premium drinks can be purchased for an additional $3-7, depending on the drink and size. Please note it is a cash only bar. The bar was not well staffed, but the tour guides would fetch drinks for the guests, so at least we didn't have to stand in long lines. The bartenders were free with the quantities of alcohol going into the drinks. The dancing show was good, but I have seen better, particularly at the Polynesian Cultural Center. However, the PCC does not serve alcohol or caffeine. Also, this was the only time during our week stay on Oa

Paradise Cove Luau
Reviewed by: Evva Morgan, 2008/12/12We had a great time. The village was fun to visit. The staff was great. The performance of the Hula Dancers were terrific. We were seated with people who we did not know, but had lovely conversation and enjoyed ourselves. If you find you're not going to have a good time, then "bring your own good time" That's my philosophy. So our time here was fantastic.

2nd Time and Better than the Last
Reviewed by: Jon, 2008/09/17My partner and I brought his mom with us to Hawaii and this was the closing to our one week trip. The staff as always were exceptional. However, I wish there was more time to just relax instead of being herded around like a bunch of cattle. I felt that there was too much to do and see with so little time. We had the deluxe package, which we never got our photos and free gifts as promised. That was a big disappointment.

First luau
Reviewed by: Dena, 2008/08/21This was our first luau that we've experienced and we're pretty happy w/Paradise Cove. The location is beautiful, the hosts and hostesses were very nice, and the activities were enjoyable. If only the activities could have lasted longer than the time they had allocated, it would have been better.
We loved the food and the show towards the end. The weather was perfect, and during the final show we saw a falling star. Perfect luau in paradise. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a great luau experience!

Family Fun

He did not want to go and I had to make him. Now ,if you ask him what his favorite thing he did while in Hawaii he will tell you the Luau at Paradise Cove. My family enjoyed the authintic dancing and singing. I printed our coupon/voucher off line and it all worked out great.

Fun Experience

The food was very delicious, I however would not recommend paying the extra for the Deluxe package with table service and 6 standard drink coupons. Table service was very slow, people who did the buffett had food way before we did AND there were other things on the buffett that table service guests did not receive.

1) It seemed very focussed on couples. Lots of references for people celebrating engagements, weddings & anniversaries. There was also a special song played so couples could dance together.
2) There were too many add-ons where it seemed really obvious they were trying to get more money out of you ($15 to have your picture taken with some tropical birds for example and also the bar staff trying to talk you into getting the drinks that your free coupon doesn't quite cover). Some of the extra activites were pretty lame and the staff didn't really seemed interested in even pretending to be enthused about being there.
The actual show was pretty good, although it didn't really go on that long. I was at a VIP table and the waiter hovered around and couldn't take your plate so as to start the next course quick enough. No offer of if you would like some more or not despite the fact it was "all you can eat".

There were plenty of activities to do prior to the show. The show was great with the fire show being the best. The meal was ok not great. Overall we had a great time and would go back.

Very Good
Reviewed by: Nancy, 2008/03/10We went as a family. It was very good. We had a great time. Everything was very entertaining. There was enough time to go around and involve yourself in any of the different activities that you may want to without making feeling rushed or too long either where you might start thinking let's move this along. The backdrop of the ocean was breathtaking. There was a fantastic sunset which made for the best photos of a sunset over water I have ever taken.
The show during the dinner was very good and so colorful. The staff was friendly and cordial.
Only one suggestion...the drink coupons that can be used anytime. We and several people around us did not realize that you need to save one drink coupon for your meal. If you use up all your drink coupons before the meal then you have to by your drink for your meal...sodas being $3.00 each....so plan ahead if you want to use all you drink coupons before the meal. Food was very good...I especially liked the pig...it was yummy!

Paradise Cove Luau

The actual location and grounds of the Luau are beautiful and we watched the sunset over the ocean. The dancers were very good, and our host, Linden, was absolutely wonderful. He is a crack up and came up with a lot of things to entertain us on the bus. The bar tenders were quick and you never had to wait long for drinks. Jasmine pours a killer Mai Tai. Also, the quality of the rum is good......no hangovers the next day.

get standard package, not royal
Reviewed by: Martin, 2007/08/24i thought the luau was good, i had a pretty good time with my girlfriend. i paid more for the royal package but the only difference with the standard one is that it included a few more drinks, but since the cocktails are very small, i dont think paying the extra money is worth it. the food could be better, although the location makes up for it; the sunset doesnt get any better than that.

Worth the drive and money
Reviewed by: Joy, 2007/06/26Paradise Cove is a lovely location with a sunset that is amazing! We really enjoyed our visit and the luau. The food was well prepared and the buffet line was not long. We preferred the buffet because we could select what we wanted and the quantity. The only negative portion of the experience was the fact that the tables were not covered which made for a long hot day in the sun and the tables where set over the dirt and sand. Aside from that it was memorable.
