First Snorkel Experience
Reviewed by: Krystal, 2010/08/03This was our first snorkeling experience. We didn't go underneath the water, just stayed swimming on top, which was fine with me. The fish were beautiful. The coral reefs are amazing and really a beautiful sight to see. We didn't get to see any sea turtles, but the schools of fish were so great. Our guide held my hand the entire time, and he was really cautious and concerned about the safety to the group. He made my husband and I feel really comfortable our first time snorkeling. Definitely the best and most beautiful place to snorkel in Hawaii.

A little improvements could be pressed on snacks and water, which the tour said would provide. I think the value was a bit pricey but overall it was worth it.

First Time Snorkeling
Reviewed by: Wendy D, 2010/05/25AMAZING!!!! I have never snorkeled before and this was completely amazing. Our guide showed us great tips on using the mask and how to breathe. I was a little scared but once I got in I did so great as did my family. The only bummer I shall say is there was another couple with us and when we went past the reef to explore where there were not others he panicked which made the whole group go back in. I wish there were two guides, one to take the rest and one to take the others back. I was disappointed we didn't go out but it was still an amazing experience that I will never forget. I gave 5 stars because even though I didn't get to experience the snorkeling further out it was still amazing to see the fish and reef.

Great day!
Reviewed by: Mrs. Heard, 2010/05/04We had initially scheduled to do the early dive but conditions were bad that morning so we went later. We are glad we did! We saw 6 sea turtles! The guides were very attentive and informative. They kept us in a small group and pointed things out so everyone would get to see them. They even provide a snack and water at the end. This was a great experience and we got some good photos!

Guided tour in April 2010
Reviewed by: Sherry, 2010/05/03Took our son for a graduation gift along with his girlfriend and none of us had never snorkled before so thought the guided tour would be the best option. Allyn (sorry if it's spelled wrong) was our guide and he was awesome. He was very patient and taught us exactly what we needed to do. He was great for helping you not getting overwhelmed since as we found out, snorkeling takes a bit of time to learn. However, once you relax you can enjoy the experience. Not so sure we could have done it on our own. The only suggestion I can make is that the bottled water needs to be cold. It was very warm. Other then that, it was an awesome experience. Well worth the money spent. It's amazing the marine life you can see. We did see a sea turtle and a small eel. Absolutely beautiful. Hope to get a chance to do it again. Don't have my pics back since we used underwater cameras, hopefully I can add them later!

Snorkling experience

Great Experience!
Reviewed by: Ms. Li, 2010/01/22It was my first time snorkeling. Alan was our guide and he was very patient and friendly! I was a bit afraid of the deep waters and currents, but Alan held my hand the whole time I was in the water and pulled me along. He also gave tips for snorkeling which was very helpful.
Recommend going to an earlier tour at Hanauma Bay if you want to see sea turtles because tides will be higher and they can get closer to the reefs.

Hanauma Bay
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2010/01/13Had a great time snorkeling. Mask kept leaking sea water though. Guide was good - very quiet, but let my friends and me take it all in. The safety instructions were quick but succinct.
We were fortunate enough to see several sea turtles, our guide offered when he got his photos to email them to us.
I've been snorkeling in the Bahama's without a guide for the same price. Overall, great experience for a great price.

Hawaii Vacation was Paradise

Alan was a very good tour guide - patient and knowledgeable & made it easy for us. Our daughter was a bit nervous going over the coral reef so he held her hand until she made it over & then we saw sea turtles which was the highlight. Fish were incredible throughout. Being from Wisconsin, we had an incredible trip and we would sign up to do this again if we get the chance to return. We brought underwater cameras which made it fun for the kids. 5-stars. : )

Very knowledgeable guide

An excellent morning snorkel

My husband had never been snorkelling before and isn't particularly confident in the ocean, but Alan was brilliant, staying with him all the time, making sure he got the hang of everything. He pointed out the fish etc and knew exactly where the best spots were to make the most of the time we had at Hanauma Bay. I would definately recommend this tour to others.

Hanauma Bay Snorkeling trip

Best of the Best!

Not to worry, our guide, Alan, was fabulous!!! He was very patient and helpful. Not only did he help us with the technical part of snorkeling, but he brought us to some areas of Hanauma Bay that most don't see. We were lucky enough to swim with four sea turtles! We would certainly go back!

Hanauma-wonderful

If the current every got tough he would grab our hands and pull us through. It was the high light of my trip to Hawaii and I would recommend it to anyone.

A MUST!

First time snorkeling!!

The snorkeling was fantastic and the owner knew all the great places to go and see aquatic life. WIsh there would have been some sort of refund for the one member who could not get out in the water.

Beautiful experience!!!

It was our first time snorkling and our guide was excellent and stayed with us and continuously made sure we were all ok! He even showed us out where there were 2 huge sea turtles. We can't wait to go back!

Tranquility in the Bay

The guide knew all the spots and lead us was patient to the beautiful fish and sea turtles. We couldn't have asked for a better time. A definite must do. I would have loved to have spent more time snorkeling, but our tour was up. 5 Stars!

It was great to have a guide because he took us to places we would never have gone without him and saw much more. He new where all the hiding spots were. Kiko (sp) was great with her bubbly personality and her delivery of sea creatures to the girls. The sea life was incredible and the girls had a grat time. We all commented on the quality of equipment as well which was top notch. Go, try them out. I would recomment it.

Hanauma Bay
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2008/04/09Having a guide was really nice since this was my first time ever snorkeling. Alan taught us the basics and provided us with equipment needed. It was great seeing all the colorful fish. One downfall (which wasn't anyone's fault) was that the water was really rough the day we went, so the experience was cut short since we couldn't go out as far as planned.
Would recommend to first-time snorkelers!

Good for first timers

It was great to see the area and we did see a lot of fish but the activity was a little slow and boring for us (we had both snorkled before) I recommend this activity for first timers or those with children. We did enjoy it but not as much as we would have if it was a little more exciting or faster paced. The guide was nice and very friendly but not very informative about what we saw.

Oahu Hanauma Bay Snorkel Tour

Alan literally guided me by the arm and made sure I was ok the whole time. The bay is spectacular, the water clear and the fish incredible! I would recommend this tour to anyone new to snokeling and to those with experience.

Nice Getaway

Snorkeling

Our guided snorkel tour, Allyn was very helpful and he brought snacks and drinks for us that was well needed for this activity. Equipments were provided. The snorkeling was awesome; we were taken to about 8 feet or more of water and had a chance to swim with the fishes. Hanauma Bay is beautiful but with this hands-on experience, we both learned to appreciate it. There were tons of fishes out there as we were snorkeling and we also had a chance to get very close to the corals. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed this very much. Thank you so much.
