Fun - but Dolphins sale may be misleading

Reviewed by: Bryce, 2013/07/03

This was advertised as a Adventure Package and looked like it was offering the Dolphin swim but we only got the Dolphin encounter - which was still fun but isn't 'swimming' with dolphins. I'm contacting Veltra about it now (whether it's misleading advertising or poor scheduling on their part) but may update this later. The activity definitely deserves 4 stars as it was all really fun - ray encounter is cool as you swim with fishes too but you don't do much with the rays other than touch the side of their 'wing'. Sea Lion encounter is way awesome though as you get to hold, hug and play with them a bit.

Best time of my life!

Reviewed by: R Garcia, 2013/07/01

It has always been a dream of mine to swim and interact with dolphins, and this exceeded my expectations! I was absolutely in heaven during my entire time in the water with them. I got a "dolphin duo" dorsal fin ride and foot push, kisses, and plenty of hands on time. I then got to do hugs and kisses, feeding, and lots of hands on time with the sea lions. This was the highlight of my visit to Hawaii and I would LOVE to do it over and over again!

Alan (customer service) did an awesome job in figuring out the schedules for all of us to enjoy this trip without having to get my 6 month old in the waters. We all had a great time, my kids loved all the activities that where do done. My kids can't wait to do it again!

Very fun

Reviewed by: Phil, 2013/06/27

This was one of our highlights in Hawaii and our teenagers loved it. The royal package is pricey, but will create life long memories if you can do it. We did feel bad for lesser dolphin programs, as that group of 30 or so were on the other side of the pool doing their program while watching our group of 8 having the time of our lives having a much more interactive time with dolphins. The sea lion and ray encounter were fun as well. It felt like we were animal trainers for a day. You must purchase any photos they take, but the photos turned out great and will be life long keepsakes.

Disappointed with some aspects

Reviewed by: Michael Sharp, 2013/01/13

I booked the Dolphin Adventure on-line prior to leaving Australia. We were notified by email that our activity was scheduled to commence at 2.30pm and that our transportation pick-up would be at 8.50am. However, a few days prior to the activity we were informed that out pick-up time was to be changed to 11.50am. This 3 hour change in pick-up severely reduced the time we had available to undertake our activity as well as see the many attractions at Sea Life Park such as the shark tank and sea lion show / feeding. After paying almost $800 (activity, photos, meals) we were very disappointed and felt as though we didn't receive full value for our money. The photos are very expensive - $40 for 3 large prints - I would also have liked to purchase the digital negatives of the photos that were taken so that we could have copies to give to grandparents. My family had a good day but it could truly have been an "unforgetable" day had things been a little different.

Fun Attraction for All!

Reviewed by: Lisa W., 2013/01/06

My husband and I booked a tour to the Sea Life park and we had a great time! There was plenty for us to do there with just the general admission but they also have options where you can swim with dolphins or sea lions.

We spent the day watching the shows and checking out the different animals. We even got to feed the sea turtles and pet a 3 week old sea turtle which was really fun. There's great views of the ocean from the park, and there's a beach within walking distance if you have time to check it out too. We didn't have time to go to that beach but it looked nice and a lot less crowded than Waikiki.

WOW!!!! Had a blast ~ I was the participant & hubby the photographer!! The staff were fabulous, so friendly & informative ~ so lucky to work with these amazing animals! The rays experience was a bit disappointing, the tank is pretty small ~ good thing there were only 3 humans & the staff in the tank plus there's not a whole lot you can 'do' with rays!! I did 3 activities, dolphins, sea loin & rays. I think here should be a price break on the photos & DVD when you do multiple encounters. Overall it was great fun & I would do it again!!

Nice locartion

Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2012/10/14

Alot samller than what I thought it would be. Pretty expensive for the short duration you get with the dolphins. The pictures and video are verypricey. Irf you are the type of person that only wants to go here to show off to your friends and family back home that you "swam" with a dolphin, and pay hundreds of dolars for it, then this place is for you. The dolphin and sea lion show are ok. Nothing like Sea World. If you really want to interact with dolphins in their natural habitat, I suggest you take either the snorkeling or scuba tour to see the dolphins. I believe it would be a lot cheaper.

Hello Sea Life

Reviewed by: sigridrose, 2012/08/24

Our family of three had a wonderful time at Sea Life. We enjoyed the attractions that we had ALREADY booked. Advanced booking is advised. This adventure is for pictures (that they take) and being able to touch the animals. One can have an other person with them to take family pictures and not participate. The swim with the sharks are for children that are not afraid of having a 75 pound helmet on their heads and going under the water with air in the helmet. The sharks are small and safe. The manta ray was more exciting in this tank. The dolphin experience of "kissing", "holding", and touching them was fun. although very short. The seal picture taking was also fun to be able to touch and hold the seal. The part where we interacted with the manta ray was extraordinary because the thought of being with this animal is educational. All in all -- a good experience that was worth all of the money we spent. The pictures were sold at a high price and when we tried to get a bargain to purchase

Sea Life Park Hawaii - Dolphin Prog

Reviewed by: Debbie, 2012/05/25

My husband and I took our two grand-daughters aged eight and eleven to Sea Life.
We purchased tickets for a Sting-Ray encounter and a Dolphin encounter.
We were picked up from a local hotel around 11.30am. I felt this was a late pick up as the Park opens at 10 and we had to travel for nearly an hour. We arrived in time for the dolphin show which was fantastic. We then had to rush off to get ready for the Sting ray encounter. The girls were given detailed instructions and off they went with another couple and the instructor. They got to snokel around for about a half an hour with four sting-ray and many coloured fish. This was great value at $21.
The girls were hungry so off to get some lunch from the snack shack. Yum.
Having checked out the Sealions and penguins it was time to get ready for the dolphin encounter. We waited for some late comers and by then we were 20 minutes late in starting this. My grand-daughters enjoyed this as well.
When this was finished we only had a few mi

dolphin encounter

Reviewed by: Hillary kostka, 2011/10/20

This was a chance of a lifetime for me and my daughter. The staff experience and hospitality was some of the best on Oahu. Spoke english, Japeneese, and Hawaiian. Very informative. The only thing was that the price was pretty steep for the park as a whole if you didn't have any encounter activities planned. Would love to do it again.

Better than expected

Reviewed by: Lars D, 2011/10/07

The staff was very professional and everybodys individual needs were catered to. Everybody got the opportunity to pet the dolphins and ride on its belly. The dolphins did exactly as they were told (sometimes they had to be told two times).

This is a once in a lifetime experience and being so close to a big (because they were very big, bigger than I expected) mammal and seeing how gentle they can be, was fantastic.

There were also shows with dolphins, sea lions, turtles and penguins.
