Great Experience

Great lesson for my daughter
Reviewed by: lovingsunshine, 2018/06/05I bought a private lesson for my 13 year old daughter. It was her first time surfing as we are from Colorado. She had her own instructor who provided great instruction and having 1 on 1 instruction helped us both to feel safe. The lesson came with a tshirt and pictures of her lesson which I thought was a great deal. My only complaint was that the adults in the group lesson often got in front of her so she had to sit down to avoid hitting them. They go over this in the beginning of the overall lesson so I don't blame the school, just maybe a reminder in the water would have been helpful. Overall it was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend.

First time with Hans & Crew
Reviewed by: Beginner_Surfer, 2017/01/03This is the 1st time I have enrolled with Hans Hedemann and staff. Staff was really nice as my son and I took the surf class in the 2hr group lesson. Two hours is plenty of time for the group size and I did not have to wait for other surfers on the water at all. I had taken the KOA lessons (also on Waikiki) earlier and Hans' School is much better in terms of distance to paddle to get to the surf location as well as the student to instructor ratio. Our package also included shuttle, pictures and a T-shirt which is awesome. My son (14yrs) said it was the best activity of the trip which is great since it's so hard to impress teens now-a-days. Because of the inclusiveness of the package and the surf location, we would definitely repeat and highly recommend this school.

Trade the Mai Tais for a lesson
Reviewed by: Adam, 2016/05/07I'd been wanting to do this the last two times i have visited Hawaii but had never gotten around to it... probably too many Mai Tai's! I'm so glad i managed to tear myself away from the local bars to give this a go this time. HHSS were great, the instructors were all really good even though 2 or 3 were clearly on their first day. I managed to catch a few waves and may have caught the surfing bug as well! Highly recommended!

Amazing Surf Sesh!

Jordan man, so good, he was an amazing instructor, kind and supportive and super friendly, and he got us all up on our boards and surfing on our own within the first hour. The day was bright, waves were slow but incoming, and the view of Waikiki from the water was unforgettable! Thanks to Hans Hedemann Surf School and HawaiiActivities.com. Ah man, such a great way to spend the morning.

Hooked on surfing!

I felt safe and confident with him, and was surfing in no time. Absolutely awesome!! I also had the privilege of meeting CJ, and Rachel (Turtle Bay shop). Hans Hedemann is a great school!!!

Their teachers were so good the kids were interested in learning more!!! a big shout out to Travis, Tim and Adam. These young men are wonderful teachers and it was an honor to meet them. Hardworking, talented and yet so humble and compassionate to their culture and environment. It was a wonderful experience! I also want to say the office staff were also very nice. Great experience

C.J. Was waiting for us in our hotel lobby with a big smile and welcoming personality.
Everyone from classroom to water were friendly and knowledgeable. I had the upmost confidence that my kids were in safe hands at all times.
The instructors did a great job and all three of my kids were able to get up and stay on their boards immediately.
Thanks to the Hans Hedeman school, my family had a great experience with memories they can keep for years ( and video to prove it !)

A fantastic time!
Reviewed by: Mr. Anonymous, 2012/06/19This was an intense, 2-hour surf lesson that I absolutely loved! The weather was perfect, and catching waves right in front of Diamond Head was amazing.
I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but the group lesson gave you a short intro into surfing and then helped you to ride the waves for the rest of the time. We spent a good amount of time (enough to exhaust me) in the water, with detailed instruction for each of the instructors. I was a bit worried when I got there with the amount of people, as I wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but the staff at Hans Hedemann made this a supa way to spend a Saturday morning.
Huge thanks go out to the surf instructors of the day, so thank you to Shawn, Easton, and Zara for keeping our huge group going for the full 2 hours, you guys were fantastic! A great time that i highly recommend to anyone and everyone visiting Waikiki!

This was our first activity on our first day and it set a trend of quality that stayed throughout our trip. These surfers are great teachers, assistants, advisors, helpers, and just plain nice.
I can't recommend anywhere more than this school.
