The perfect "Aloha"

The last thing we wanted to do at the beginning of our vacation was arrive in an unfamiliar airport, drag our luggage to wherever the car rental station was, sign a bunch of papers for a car rental, find the car, find the exit, and then find our way across the Island to our hotel. Sounds awful! So instead we were greeted with a friendly Aloha greeting, our bags were fetched from the baggage carousel, loaded into the very comfortable Roberts Hawaii van, and we were whisked across the Island to our hotel quickly and comfortably. It was so easy that we had the friendly Roberts driver pick us up again and return us to the airport. Our driver was at our hotel early, entertained us with stories of Island life on the way, and helped us find our way around the airport as well. Stress free and friendly, the only way to fly!

Hotel to Airport:

Got a confirmation email, called to check again the time and location on the day prior to pick up to the airport.
Nevertheless there was a 30 min. delay because the driver "forgot" to pick me up. Had to call 3 times to get things straight. Was on hold first time and got hung upon, second time also got hung upon while on hold. For the third time I got reconfirmed that the driver will promptly pick me up in a few min. which he actually did so I added a star.

Airport to Hotel:
Now this was a nice experience.
Flight got delayed but I think they check flight schedule on a real time basis.
Welcomed on arrival with a shell lei around the neck, there is a desk when you exit the baggage claim area, so it is really hard to miss. Nice van with cool air conditioning right to your door. Highly recommended!

All in all, don't rely too much on the hotel pickup time and arrange it early so that you have some extra time and don't miss the flight even if things get messed up.

Thank you to Marisa at Robert's Hawaii and Veltra for a quick response to my earlier concerns regarding shuttle services Mar 13 &14. Not only was there an apology, but also a refund of extra monies caused by the change to service. This is good business practise and much appreciated.

My experience March 8 was fine (aside from the driver running a red light and snorting profusely for the duration of the ride; he said at the end of the ride it was due to allergies).
Unfortunately my two children arriving at separate times the following weekend (Mar 13 and 14) was not.
On Mar 13 late arrival my daughter waited for the shuttle, then was informed she would be taking a taxi instead. It took the taxi driver 90 minutes to get her from the airport to Honua Kai because the driver did not know the address (full address provided for the resort as well as its name).
The next night my son and his partner were also rerouted by taxi after waiting a half hour on the shuttle. At least this time the taxi knew the resort but then informed his passengers that tip was not included and asked for $20. As this was our first time to Maui we did not know how to direct taxi drivers, nor that we were expect to pay additional charges after paying for the shuttle when it was booked. (We tip the drivers according to bags, but not for the trip for shuttle service)
In all, two out of three experiences not so good.

Was very unorganized at the airport. Was supposed to be waiting for us when we got off the plane but wasn't and then told us they forgot about us. Once in Van to go to Hotel. The driver was blaring his bebop music. Scheduled a pick up at our hotel once our trip was over and called to confirm pickup and they had us on the schedule for the wrong day. Rescheduled for the appropriate day and confirmed 3 times and they still didn't have us being picked up at the right hotel. Very unreliable and would choose a different way to get to and from the airport but NOT this company.

My shuttle driver and van were there on schedule after my flight arrived. I rode with 2 other passengers to our various lodging in Kihei. The driver was confused as to the exact location of my lodging, but was courteous and friendly to change direction and got me to my destination. The driver offered a great deal of friendly advice in response to passenger questions. A very nice experience.

The efficiency of the staff getting us out of the airport on to the bus was outstanding. The trip to the hotel took a little longer than going back to the airport probably because of traffic.

Marcia, who is very friendly took my directions down correctly that I wished to be picked up outside of the parking area of the hotel not inside - had her directions misunderstood and the driver waited for me by the front desk of the hotel inside instead - and was leaving when I finally looked to catch him just by luck.

After flying all the way and overnight from Alaska, I was very pleased with the shuttle service. After a short wait, they sent me to the resort in a cab, as the shuttles were going to be a while. I would definitely use them again, and appreciated not having to wait any longer than necessary at the airport.

I was confused as to where my shuttle would pick me up after being told by the tour bus driver on drop off at the parking lot near the car rental booths that this is where I would be picked up after returning my rental car a few days later. I was glad I checked to find out that a mini shuttle would instead pick me up at the front of the baggage area.

Less confusion would have been avoided if I were given instructions when I made my reservation.

AGGGHHH!

The driver was VERY courteous and concerned about getting me to the airport on time, however...they need some help with scheduling and reservation FOR SURE! The driver arrived 15 minutes late, and had a hard time turning the vehicle around in our pretty much empty parking lot, so a little more time waas lost.
He was not prepared with good directions for his next pick up in Lahaina, about 20 minutes away from where he picked me up. He contacted dispatch for directions, and the directions they gave him sent him down Front St in Lahaina on a Friday night. Wall to wall people and traffic. He would have been better off staying on the highway past the commercial part of the street. They eventually sent another driver to pick up the other fare, who it turns out, were scheduled to be picked up at the SAME TIME as I was...20 minutes south!! He was a good driver, and got me to the airport in time for my flight, but we left Lahaina an HOUR past when we were supposed to. I do not view this as a driver failure, but a team failure. Get it together Roberts dispatch!!
I will try you again, but I am hoping that you make some much needed improvements in your teamwork!
