Highlight of My Trip!
Reviewed by: Selah, 2024/03/24This was my 2nd time visiting Maui and my biggest regret from the 1st trip was not going horseback riding. I would definitely recommend Circle M Ranch. The horses were well behaved and looked well cared for. Our guides made sure we all felt comfortable and were very informative. I've ridden many times but I still appreciated the way they explained everything before we saddled up. They provided some drinks that we were able to keep in our saddlebags. The trail was beautiful going through sections of forest, and gave us plenty of views of the ocean, including whales and that gorgeous coastline! We stopped at a few outlooks where our guide shared the history of the ranch and island, and for some photos. The whole experience was very professional. When we got back to the ranch I was only sad it was over. Thanks for a great experience!

Amazing Adventure

Horseback riding.

Great experience
Reviewed by: Leif , 2022/07/18Views were amazing. Pics don’t do it justice. Horses were great. Being from Texas I’ve ridden most of my life so we got to do a little more than they probably would have normally because of our experience level. This is 100% worth it.

Stunning views

You're in Good Hands!!

He actually went for a trot - all by himself!! Between the views, the entertaining guides and aloha spirit, my daughter and I would recommend the Mendes Ranch to any and all riders, from beginners to advanced.

Great ride!

Best part about the ride was they got us through different terrains including a very narrow heavily vegetated area. My horse was spirit - intermediate level. And she was pretty free spirited. The runs were awesome with her. My wife had quick smoke who was very gentle yet her runs were fun too! Our guides were awesome as well. All in all definitely a thing to do in Maui.

Thanks to the cowgirls and cowboy for being our guides on this ride! (Plz forgive me for not recalling the names right now)

Amazing!

Horseback Riding
Reviewed by: Erica, 2013/09/17I enjoyed the ride very much. It is a very beautiful ranch to see. I recommend taking the morning ride (the one we took), since it does get very hot as the day goes on. My horse was a very good follower and listened good. Our guild was fun, information, and funny. If we needed any kind of help he was right there when you asked. He also was a very good photographer for all of us when we stop to take pictures. I would also recommend being in the front so it isn't so dusty. I was in the back and got dusted out a few times so I just kept my distance from the person in front of me and it was fine after that. Did I mention how beautiful the views were? Also, the drive there seems like you've gone too far but you can't miss the gates with the Mendes Ranch name on it. Small parking lot so park by the entrance, for easy exiting. The whole staff was very nice and helpful. I would definitely do this again!

A horse ride off my bucket list
Reviewed by: two inexperienced riders, 2012/01/13I chose this activity for its uniqueness. You rode a horse high up to the mountain top and were given photo options using your own camera. You were matched to a horse that suited your riding experience. The riding was either up a mountain or down a mountain. Very little on the flat lie. Once to the bottom, the view of the ocean was fantastic. Again, photo options were great. The staff was most obliging. My only concern was that the
one guide's horse and the horse I was given did not get along. Everytime the guide came to check on me, my horse would fold its ears back, tremble and prepare to bolt and often broke into a canter. It was a very unnerving feeling for a beginner rider. There was only two times available to canter for the experienced riders and it was only going uphill for a short stretch. Our group had three such riders.
If you are out for fantastic views, great photo ops, then this is the ride for you.
If you are out for a lovely ride then forget this outing.

Fantastic horseriding experience

The guides were fantastic, the horses great, and the trail near the top of a mountain and descending to a beautiful beach, were outstanding!

Beautiful Ranch & Horseback Ride

Everyone at the RANCH, especially, FRENCHY, our Tour guide was friendly, fun and informative on the ride about ALL the Beauty of the Island & Mendes Ranch History. They were giving of their time to the ones that were a little less experienced in riding & took pictures of everyone in differnet areas of the ride to make sure we ALL caputured great memories on film. We had the opportunity to gallop if we chose throughout the ride as well. The Horses are well cared for & are Beautiful. We had "Bailey" & "Cowboy" and Frenchy had Beautiful "Shotgun". I would definetly go back next trip to MAUI.

Outstanding Experience
Reviewed by: Stu, 2008/08/16My wife,daughter and I spent 10 days on Maui.The highlight was going on this horseback ride.Trails with breathtaking views, a well informed and friendly staff.Our guides Frenchy and Steve made this very enjoyable. The staff was very good in joining riders experience to the right horse. Being beginners, we were a bit nervous at first.Our guides put us right at ease and that made for a much more enjoyable ride. I would highly recommend this activity.
