Luau Fun
Reviewed by: Bruce Cariker, 2017/09/20Very good for what it was billed as. Good food, great dancing, maybe a bit Disneyesque. The fire knife dancer was a bit into himself, milking the audience for extra applause for his displays of skill. Dinner and show were well run, smooth and essentially seamless. Dinner seating was very good. Seats at the show venue, while padded, became a bit hard and narrow after awhile. I suppose it's the tradeoff required to get that many people within a good viewing distance of the show. Worth seeing again.

Reviewed by: Rachel, 2017/08/27It was very busy. Good food but my gluten free meal was brought 20 minutes after I was full from the salads provided. However I ate the pork , chicken from the buffet style feast and food was well labelled so I had no reaction to the food I ate considering I am allergic to wheat. Very nice staff. Show was good. I wished there was more history and traditional dance wear. The high pitched whale noises the one lady made hurt my ears for every song. I wished the warrior dance was longer as I enjoyed the drums and seeing less women dancers hehe. The fire show was the best part. Thanks so much smith family!!

Amazing experience
Reviewed by: droth88, 2017/07/15My wife and I attended the Smith Family Luau after the cruise to the fern grotto. The entire experience was amazing. The Smith family themselves were welcoming and gracious, the staff was easy to talk to and helpful. The food was out of this world good, especially for a large buffet. Even a downpour couldn't stop us from having a fantastic time. I recommend the luau to everyone and anyone looking for a once in a lifetime experience.

The friendly family service provided by the Smiths was first rate. The food at the luau was incredible and plentiful. Open bar lasted about 1 1/2 hours featuring "mai tais" and beer. The luau show had a very real feel to, not like a "Hollywood" production and was fantastic. They accepted the Veltra voucher without any question. Loved the experience. Thanks to the Smith family and Veltra.

Pleasantly surprised at the subtle differences to others I've been too. Made me sit up and actually really take notice.

The dinner was good and nicely displayed. There was a little of something for everyone to like. The show was very good and entertaining. It got a little hard to sit for that long on the forward slanted seating though. I would recommend for a fun night.

Great Food, Great Entertainment, Awesome Time.

The start of the Luau celebration was very informative and they explained about the tradition the Hawaiian people do and of their honorable way of life and respect for the planet in general. The seating was very organized and tables were called one at a time and in an expeditious manner. The food was very well presented and plenty of it. The salads and dressings were island flavor and very delish. The main dishes were local fish, Roasted Pork, Teryaki Chicken with your side of fried rice. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The Show was a great ending to the night with a history of the evolution of the Hawaiian Islands and its people. I would definitely do it again. Worth the time and money. Take a camera...plenty of photos.

Reviewed by: NLKTravel, 2016/11/19Pros: I added the optional transfer for $12pp and it was nice to have someone else drive since drinks were included. This was a large tour bus with plenty of room. When you arrive, you are greeted with a flower lei. Some local venders were selling hand made items, spices, photos, and nuts. The grounds are well kept with a flower lei greeting. The food was very good and you could go back for seconds. The dancers and show was one of the best I have seen.
Cons: If you drive yourself, arrive early so you can find parking. Paying for the "Plantation Owner's Evening" I thought we should have been sitting closer and I didn't feel like I was being treated like an "Owner". See the photo I attached of how far back we were from the show. For some reason, our bartender was not having a good day and was basically being grumpy. I hope his attitude changed later.
