Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kauai and marvel at your amazing views. The tour's highlight, Waimea Canyon State Park, is also known as "the Grand Canyon of the Pacific" for its awe-inspiring size. The canyon is named for its red soil, which runs off into the river to make red water ("waimea" in the Hawaiian language). Take in panoramic views of canyon, waterfalls and more. You will also visit some historical and cultural spots, including Old Koloa Town and the abandoned Russian military structure, Fort Elizabeth. Specifically catered to our guests on cruise ships, this tour features round-trip transportation from the cruise ship pier.
Tour Duration: 5hrs
Note: This tour itinerary is custom-made for passengers of Cruise Ship vessels only. Activity days & Pick-up time and locations vary per ship.

  • Spouting Horn: One of the most photographed spots on Kauai with ocean water spraying up to 50 feet in the air.
  • Waimea Canyon: Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. This natural wonder was carved out by the Waimea River and the collapse of a volcano. The rich colors of the red soil and the lush greenery are a spectacular sight to see.
  • Hanapepe Valley Lookout: A picturesque view of the lush tropical valley and former Hawaiian taro farming community with some of the taro patches which are still being farmed today.
  • Queen Victoria’s Profile: Haupu Mountain range offers a profile of the British Queen Victoria.
  • Waimea Town: This old seaport was the first landing site of European explorers. Today, it is home to the last sugar plantation of the island and located in the backyard of high tech companies and small businesses.
  • Russian Fort Elizabeth: The last Russian Fort on the Hawaiian Islands.
  • Koloa Town: From some of the oldest buildings in the state to rich history of Hawaii’s first successful Sugar Plantation. Discover how this main port of entry was a favorite amongst the whaling fleet.

    123RF_71480935_ML Head to Waimea Canyon and observe its sandstone and reddish hues was created over thousands of years by earthquakes and erosion in stark contrast to Kauai's green lushness. It’s easy to see why it’s known as “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific”.
  • Spouting Horn

  • Hanapepe Valley Lookout
    Hanapepe Then take in a picturesque view at Hanapepe Valley Lookout with a lush tropical valley that was once a Hawaiian taro farming community. Some of the taro patches are still being farmed today.
  • Haupu Mountain Range
    Driving through the Haupu Mountain range and Waimea Town.
  • Russian Fort Elizabeth & Old Koloa Town
    And on your return to port, drive by another historical and cultural spots; Russian Fort Elizabeth & Old Koloa Town. Discover the remains of the early 19th-century Russian Fort Elizabeth and Old Koloa Town which is a historic plantation town is known for a shopping and dining spot nowadays.

    • Due to limited availability, ADA vehicle reservations must be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to your activity date. Please specify during the booking process.
    • For electric wheelchairs or scooters: The combined weight of the wheelchair and guest cannot exceed 500 lbs (226.5kg). and the maximum width of the wheelchair cannot exceed 29 inches (73.5 cm).
    • Children under the age of 4 are FREE and must be seated on an adult's lap. If the guardian requires a seat for a child under the age of 4, the regular rate will be applicable.
    • This activity is wheelchair accessible.
    • If less than 4 participants are booked, the activity may not operate.
    • Children of all ages can participate in this activity.

Will I be back in time before my ship departs from the pier?
  • Yes. Shore Excursions Tours are created specifically to cater to popular tours for cruise line passengers and designed around your cruise ship’s itinerary. For most of the Shore Excursions, the driver will pick you up from the pier and return you to the pier before your ship leaves the dock. All you need to do is book the tour and look for the Roberts Hawaii Staff when you arrive at the pier.
What if the cruise ship changed the port and we missed the port.
  • If the cruise ship’s itinerary changes for any reason (i.e. force majeure, weather cancellations), you will be provided a full refund for the specific tour that was missed.
