Tokyo
Recently, I had a resin art experience in Shimokitazawa. The process of mixing colors to create my own original shades was incredibly fun, and I became completely absorbed in the journey to completion. Since I rarely have the opportunity to create art, it was a refreshing and exciting time. When I try to do the same thing at home, I often worry about the mess and the working environment, making it difficult to take bold challenges. However, during this experience, I had none of those worries and was able to enjoy creating freely. Through this experience, I felt a renewed desire to try my hand at other forms of art, making it a wonderful opportunity to rediscover the joy of creation.
Easy and fun, definitely recommended! Our helper told us his English wasn't very good, but then proceeded to explain everything perfectly in English. :)
Thank you very much for visiting us. We also appreciate your highly rated reviews. We are very honored that you enjoyed Japanese culture. If you ever come to Japan again, please try a different experience.
I participated with my daughter. Before the actual production began, we were able to practice, and the time spent creating flew by; it was both focused and enjoyable. The instructor's explanations were clear, and their positive mindset made for a fun experience. If given the chance, I would love to do it again.
Once you have a clear image of what you want to create, I think it's best to move forward with your work without wavering.
This was my first visit. I was curious about what tarashikomi art was like, and after experiencing it, I found it to be more difficult than I expected. I enjoyed how different combinations of colors could create completely different results and the various changes that occurred. I look forward to receiving my artwork. Thank you very much.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience; the teacher was so friendly, patient and genuine, and we got to do so many steps when making the ramen bowl. It was not stressful at all, and we wish we had brought our parents along too. Also loved the wide variety of items we could purchase after! So much more meaningful buying from here than Donki / other places whom you don’t know who made them.
Thank you for visiting us from afar. I am happy to receive your compliments. I hope that the food sample experience becomes a good memory of Japan.
Please come visit us again when you visit Japan again.
Yoshiko sensei is so kind and a master at her craft. Loved learning from her and her husband in their little studio. She gave great pointers, where to buy supplies to continue the practice, and is very happy to answer any questions even in email afterwards. I brought a cracked teapot in hopes she could advise me on how to fix it, but she helped me fix it for a small fee during class! It was such a lovely way to spend an afternoon immersed in a Japanese artistry not known by many. Only tip is that it’s difficult to call an Uber at this location, may need to make sure to make other commute arrangements!
This was such an awesome experience. I learned so much and would take this again! The instructor spoke English and Japanese, was friendly, patient, and kind. I was able to choose a clear glass (I wanted a pink one but was told I could only choose clear sadly) and they had many additional options for an extra charge (also clear). They have stencils, or you are able to draw free hand on your glass. You are provided a piece of glass to practice on before you attempt your design. The setting was intimate with only 4 cutting machines (there were other studios that were larger on other floors) which I liked because it felt more personal. I didn't need glasses or an apron like I thought I might. You can take photos of your glass when you finish in a lit photo box which makes your pictures look amazing. The room was a little warm for me, but I brought a tiny hand fan with a stand and it was perfect. We were asked to remove our shoes and wear public slippers, so I recommend wearing socks.
It was my first experience with Edo Kiriko, and I was able to finish my piece thanks to the careful guidance I received. I got so focused on the work that time flew by. Although I couldn't make it as beautifully as the examples, I think it turned out to be a piece with character.
I've now been to Yamato Sample twice and tried two different kits, and I can confidently say this is one of the most unique and fun experiences I've had on my trips to the country! This is a good place to both try your hand at crafting as well as learn a bit about techniques used to make realistic food.
The craftsmen that help you are, as you can imagine, incredibly knowledgeable and have a great sense of humor; additionally, they have a nice lil shop near the front that shows some of their more intricate works that are for sale. I have tons of friends that are constantly planning their own trips to Japan and this is one of the few places I always recommend to them.
Hello
Thank you for visiting us again.
We are very grateful to receive so many compliments.
Recently, we have had a large number of customers come from all over the world, and we are sure that they are enjoying themselves.
I would be happy if you had an enjoyable experience this time as well.
Please come visit us again when you come to Japan. All the staff are looking forward to seeing you.
thank you
I participated alone. I was nervous when putting the pattern into the glass, but I was kindly and carefully taught, and I was able to create it enjoyably. I had a really fun time.
The instructor was guiding six people at once, so there was inevitably some waiting time, but the explanations were incredibly thorough and easy to understand, allowing even someone as clumsy as me to create something that looked good!
When it comes to grinding glass, it's natural to be cautious and worry about breaking it, but it seems that applying a bit more pressure actually helps achieve deeper cuts. Once you grasp the technique, you can cut to a certain extent as you wish, but be careful not to overdo it, as it can be difficult to fix mistakes if you get carried away.
I had already decided on the design I wanted to create from the beginning, so I didn't take many risks, but among the participants, there were those who thought, "Since I came all this way, I want to make something I really want to!" and challenged themselves with more complex designs (samples were provided).
In the end, we polished our finished pieces beautifully and took photos while lighting them. They sparkled and looked so beautiful; I was very satisfied.
This was a wonderful and insightful Kintsugi class. Yoshiko and Yoschiichiro made me feel very welcome, taught me a lot in a short amount of time (despite my very limited Japanese) and helped me repair a personal object I had brought. I feel well equipped to continue kintsugi at home now, but still look forward to another class next time I’m in Tokyo! There’s still so much to learn and I had such a nice time being part of their warm, peaceful community!
When it comes to art, I often feel like I might not be able to do it well and that I lack the sense for it, so it feels like a high hurdle. However, I was able to enjoy the experience in a friendly atmosphere with my friends.
What we experienced was "tarashikomi art." We layered our favorite colors and dripped them onto the canvas, and even just in the color creation process, our individuality shone through.
As we actually dripped the colors, the way we moved the canvas created various patterns. Even if we used exactly the same colors, no two pieces would turn out the same, which is one of the charms that makes me want to do it again!
The kids didn’t know what to expect but afterwards they raved about this experience. They made the regular sized parfait and enjoyed choosing the decorations first with a sample parfait, then pouring in the silicon icecream and arranging the decorations. The man helping was very friendly and patient. It was great to have this experience which we probably couldn’t do anywhere else in the world!
Thank you for visiting us. Food samples are a culture unique to Japan, so I'm glad you learned about them.
We would be happy if your children enjoyed it too.
Please come visit us again when you come to Japan.
We look forward to seeing you.
Such a nice time with this crafty couple! Makes it very manageable even for someone who is not artistic or crafty. Not tricky to get to if you're ok with the bus.
We had a very nice experience. The vibe was very good and comfortable. We chose to make a pizza clock and bought some of the keychains made by the shop.
Thank you for visiting us.
The pizza clock is a very popular experience.
We're glad that you enjoyed it.
Please come visit us again when you visit Japan.
We look forward to seeing you.
I participated with my first grader. They lent us aprons, and since we wore gloves while working, our hands only got a little dirty. First, we were served drinks. The children had apple juice.
The colors we created mostly determined the final product, but I realized after finishing that the proportions when mixing the colors at the end were important. We sprinkled gold leaf, glitter, and star shapes. It seemed like the children really enjoyed this part of the process.
The work progressed smoothly, and we finished in an hour. Since it's summer, they said the finished products would arrive at home in about a week. Even the children were able to create decent pieces, and it was a lot of fun.
I often go to Asakusa, but I didn't know I could have such a wonderful experience! I definitely want both domestic and international visitors to try it!
I was moved by the process of selecting the glass, choosing the design, and creating the final piece. Additionally, I was even more impressed that we could take photos of the glass.
I wasn't confident in the processing, but they explained everything carefully and allowed us to practice, so I was able to create something.
Thank you for this valuable experience.
I will enjoy delicious drinks from the glass we designed ourselves.
I participated in the rain brought by the wandering typhoon. I struggled with choosing a design due to the complexity of the many sample cuts and the difference in my own skills after practicing. I was nervous that if I carved too deeply, I might create holes. With the teacher's advice, I was able to complete it somehow. Next time, I want to challenge myself with a more complex design! (I had fun participating even on my own!)
It was a quick 90 minutes. We participated as a couple, and the staff was very attentive, allowing us to create our favorite original glasses! Starting tomorrow, I'll enjoy my favorite sake with them! Thank you very much! ♪
Out of all of the activities we have done in Japan, this has turned to be the best one we have done! The owners are a married couple and both have been so nice and sweet. The whole activity is very immersive and we didn't notice that 2 hours have went by so fast! They also served us sweets and tea before starting and they were all so delicious! I even had 5 refills of the tea.
On our next trip to Japan, we will for sure come by again to see you!
Thank you very much for taking part in making our trip unforgetful.
With lots of love from your first Cyprus visitors. :)
I experienced this on the day of the typhoon, but fortunately, we were able to avoid the heavy rain, so after moving to the store, I was able to participate without any issues. The instructor's sister taught us with great care. I was grateful for the precise guidance on how to carve patterns that I find difficult and on areas for improvement. I could practice while preparing for the main event, and I was also taught difficult and stylish designs.
The instructor praised us very well, which kept my motivation high and allowed me to focus. Unfortunately, I carved too much and made a hole in my glass, but they suggested trying again. (I had to give up due to time constraints.) My wife, who participated with me, finished her piece properly, so I believe that with a little caution, anyone can create something well.
Although I made a hole, I still completed it, so I plan to use it as a cactus pot. However, I feel frustrated, so I want to try again. I think anyone who enjoys crafting will have a great time.
The activity was fun itself but I feel that it would have been better if we had more practice before the real thing!
Nonetheless, we enjoyed the activity.
When we think back to our class, we are still filled with the warmth, hospitality and expertise that we were able to experience.
Even though it was only just under 3 hours, we were able to get a great impression of the art of Kintsugi.
Our self-repaired cups, about which we received interesting historical information, will be one of the most precious memories of our trip to Japan.
Thank you very much!
Such a fun activity with my 16 year old daughter. We went to the studio and were pleasantly surprised to find out if was a personal lesson for just the two of us! Our teacher was so lovely and you could tell how passionate she was about her craft. She explained the whole process thoroughly and helped us if we needed it on each step. The packaging so we could transport our projects back home was also amazing. I did not expect to have that done for us either! Highly recommend if you're into arts and crafts!!
Since it was my first experience, I was worried, but I was able to work with peace of mind because I was kindly taught various things. While I was working, I was able to have someone check on me, which helped a lot.
After I finished, I was able to take photos, which became a nice memory!
It was fun, easy, and just a really nice experience all around. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! :)
Thank you for visiting us on a hot day in Tokyo.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to seeing you again.
I got lost coming from the station, but I received a phone call and was given directions. The experience was very thorough, and my 6th-grade daughter, despite being a bit clumsy, was able to finish and said she wants to do it again. I was satisfied with the results. Now that I remember the location, I want to do it again! (≧∇≦)b

I really enjoyed this experience. Yoshiko and Yoshiichiro were generous with their knowledge and made me feel very welcome. I would love to return to their studio to learn more kintsugi.
