I participated in a mangrove canoe and Pinaisara Falls tour on Iriomote Island for the first time!
Canoeing under the blue sky was incredibly refreshing!
At Pinaisara Falls, with its impressive drop, I had a blast swimming in the plunge pool.
On the hiking trail, I encountered a habu snake and saw many plants and animals I had never seen before, which was very fascinating.

After the falls, I experienced the mysteries of nature further with a limestone cave exploration tour.
We started from a spot by the road that made me think, "Wait, from here?"
We crouched down to pass through the cave while getting wet, and at one point, we turned off our lights to experience complete darkness. There were also many strange bugs, and we looked for footprints of wildcats and boars. It was full of experiences you can't find in tourist caves.

Overall, it was a day packed with the essence of Iriomote! Thank you to our guide for the wonderful day.

滝の後は鍾乳洞探検ツアーでさらに大自然の神秘を体験。
道路の脇の、え？こんな所から？って場所からスタート。
洞内を小さくしゃがんで水に浸かりながらくぐり抜けたり、途中でライトを消して真っ暗闇にしてみたり。へんな虫もたくさんいたし、ヤマネコやイノシシの足跡を探したり。観光鍾乳洞では味わえないことだらけ。

総じて西表っぽさ盛りだくさんの一日でした(^^)

I entered a tributary from Nakama River and paddled for about two hours. Along the way, I was very satisfied to encounter crabs, gobies, and the dappled sunlight filtering through the mangrove forest. Our guide, John, was also very helpful.

仲間川から支流に入り、２時間ほど漕ぎました。途中、カニやハゼ、マングローブ林の木漏れ日に会えて大満足。ガイドのジョンさんのガイドも親切でした。

I visited Iriomote Island for the first time! A friend told me that I absolutely must go to Pinai Waterfall, so I chose this tour. At first, I was worried about whether I could climb to the top of the waterfall, but there was a friendly guide who made the climb enjoyable! We were blessed with good weather, and the view from the top of the waterfall was just amazing!! I'm so glad I made it up there! Also, the Yaeyama soba I had at the top was delicious! We kayaked, trekked to the top of the waterfall, went to the basin, and then kayaked again... It was a packed tour where I could really feel the great nature of Iriomote Island! In the morning, there were few people, so it was nice and relaxing—highly recommended! Thank you so much, Hossy and Tacchy! I will come again! (^^)

初めて西表島に来ました！
知り合いから、絶対ピナイサーラの滝に行くべきと言われて、このツアーを選びました。
滝の上まで登る事ができるかはじめは不安でしたが、気さくなガイドさんがいてくれて、楽しく登る事ができました！
天気にも恵まれて、滝の上の景色はもう最高！！
上まで行って良かったです！
そして、滝の上で食べた八重山そばも美味しかった！
カヤック乗って、トレッキングして滝上まで行って、そこから滝壺行って、またカヤックに乗って…
西表島の大自然を感じる事のできる、盛り沢山のツアーでした！

I participated in my first trip to Iriomote Island. When I arrived at the port, the guide welcomed us. The guide was a handsome young man, and he was knowledgeable about the history and nature of Iriomote Island, sharing many interesting stories. The activities were almost a first-time challenge for me, but he provided thorough instructions, so I felt safe and enjoyed myself. I became captivated by Iriomote Island, and I will definitely come back to visit again. Thank you very much.

初めての西表島旅行で参加しました。
港に着くとガイドさんが出迎えてくれます。
ガイドさんはイケメン青年で、西表島の歴史や自然についても詳しく、興味深い話が沢山聞けました。
アクティビティというものもほぼ人生初の挑戦でしたが、丁寧にレクチャーをしてくれるので安心して楽しめました。
西表島の虜になりましたので、また必ず遊びに来ます。

First and foremost, I want to emphasize the importance of being cautious about seasickness. Even those who usually don't get seasick should take motion sickness medication before boarding the boat. I was informed by the guide that there are customers who have to return without experiencing the tour due to seasickness, which is a real shame, so please be careful.

Now, let me report on the experience. I participated in the tour in mid-April, and the weather looked questionable even before the start of the experience. The staff was concerned about this and responded flexibly by speeding up preparations.

First, we moved through the mangrove forest by canoe, but it was raining quite heavily at that time. After confirming whether we should continue, we began our canoe journey. Thanks to the cold weather measures taken, we were able to move without feeling particularly cold. During the trekking afterward, we chatted and I was able to ask various questions.

Additionally, instead of going to the base of the waterfall first and then to the top as originally planned, we decided to go from the top due to the possibility of high water preventing us from accessing the top later. Because of this, we were able to see the view from the top of the waterfall and enjoy the sight of the waterfall below! Furthermore, when we went to the base of the waterfall, we were able to see an incredibly powerful waterfall, unlike anything I had seen before, thanks to the rain. It was so powerful that it was hard to breathe when we were close to it.

Afterward, since the ferry from Uehara Port to Ishigaki Island was canceled, we were taken to Ohara Port. Moreover, since we were relatively quick during our trekking, we had extra time, and we were taken to the Wildlife Conservation Center, making good use of the time until our departure from Ohara Port. Finally, we were guided to the ticket area, and we received very attentive guidance throughout the experience.

1番初めに伝えたいのは、船酔いには気をつけて頂き、
普段酔わない人も、酔い止めは飲んでから
船に乗って下さい。
ガイドさんに教えて頂いたのですが、
船酔いのせいで体験できずに帰られるお客さんも
いるとのことでしたので、それは非常にもったいないので、気を付けてください。

体験について報告致します。
体験は4月の中旬に行ったのですが、
その日は体験開始前から天気が怪しかったので、
その点を担当の方が心配して下さり、
準備の迅速化など臨機応変に対応して下さりました。
まずはカヌーでのマングローブ林移動なのですが、
その時には結構な雨が降っており、こちらに続行するかの確認後、
カヌーでの移動を開始しました。
その際に、寒さ対策をして頂いたおかげで、
特に凍える事なく移動する事が出来ました。
移動後のトレッキング時にも雑談をしてくれて色々聞くことが出来ました。
また、本来なら滝壺に行ってから滝上の予定のところ、
増水して滝上にいけなくなる可能性を考慮して、
臨時で滝上から行く事となりました。
そのおかげで、無事滝上からの景色を見る事が出来、
滝下を眺めることが出来ました！
さらには滝壺に行った際にも、雨のおかげで今まで見たこと無いくらい大迫力の滝を見る事が出来ました。
近くにいると息がし難いぐらいの大迫力でした。

その後、上原港から石垣島へ帰る便が欠便したので、大原港まで送迎して頂けました。
さらに、自分達のトレッキング時のスピードが比較的早かったので、体験時間が余っており、
臨時で野生生物保護センターに連れてって頂き、
大原港からの出航便までの時間を有意義に過ごす事が出来ました。
最後はチケット場所まで案内して頂き、
非常に丁寧なガイドをして頂けました。

I visited Iriomote Island for the first time. In the morning, the weather was bad, and it was disappointing that snorkeling was canceled, but canyoning was really fun. In the afternoon, the mangrove canoeing was nice as the weather cleared up, and it felt great. The staff at pipi taught me a lot about the island's charm and the fun of the activities, and I had a wonderful time in a warm atmosphere.

初めて西表島に行きました。
朝は天気が悪くて、シュノーケルが中止になってしまったのは悲しかったけど、キャニオニングもとっても楽しかったです。午後のマングローブカヌーでは晴れてきてとても気持ちよかったです。pipiの方が島の良さやアクティビティの楽しさをたくさん教えてくれて、温かい雰囲気の中、とても楽しい時間を過ごせました。

I'm glad I was able to see stars that are usually not visible.
Paddling through the dark mangroves in a canoe, I was able to experience a magical world, and it was great to see the bioluminescent plankton as well.
Additionally, the guide's explanations were clear and thorough, which I highly recommend.

普段見られない星が、見られて良かったです。
暗闇のマングローブを､カヌーで進み、幻想的な世界、夜光虫も見られ良かったです。
また、ガイドさんの説明が、分かりやすく丁寧でおすすめです。

On April 4th, the weather was clear, with a forecasted high of 30 degrees.

One of the highlights is that the Windmill Tour departs early in the morning, allowing you to be the first to enjoy the canoeing and the top of the waterfall, providing a peaceful and relaxing experience. It truly feels like you have the place to yourself!

We participated as a family of four, with two daughters in upper elementary school and my husband and I in our forties. There were many challenging spots, including climbing cliffs, which made us a bit worried, but thanks to our guide Hoshi and the new guide Ogura, we had a fun time hiking. We talked a lot, and it felt like we arrived before we knew it. The kids, who usually dislike bugs, showed interest and even touched a lizard, which was full of surprises.

I think many people participate in the waterfall basin tour, but the breathtaking view and sense of accomplishment from the top of the waterfall are beyond words. If you're hesitating, I highly encourage you to give it a try!

As for me, an adult who lacks exercise, I was sore all over the next day! I recommend a relaxed plan for the day after the tour.

4月4日天気晴れ、最高気温は30度予想でした。

オススメポイントは、風車さんのツアーは早朝出発なので、カヌーも滝上にも一番乗りでき静かなのんびりした時間を過ごすことができることです。独り占め感がすごい！

小学校高学年の娘二人とアラフォー夫婦4人で参加しました。難所も多く、崖登り等心配もありましたが、ガイドのほしさんと新人ガイドのおぐらさんのおかげで楽しく山登りをできました。たくさんお話できて、いつの間に到着している感じでした。
子どもも普段は嫌がる虫に興味を持ったり、トカゲに触ってみたりと驚きの連続でした。


滝つぼツアーに参加される方は多いと思いますが、滝上からの絶景と達成感は言葉で伝えることができないほど素晴らしいです。迷ってみえる方はぜひチャレンジしてください！

運動不足の大人（私）は翌日全身筋肉痛です！ツアー翌日はゆるめプランをおすすめします。

It was amazing, amazing, amazing.
The view from above the waterfall was breathtaking!
The coral reef and the view of Hatoma Island in the distance were stunning.
On the way, we paddled a canoe while enjoying the great nature of Iriomote Island and the mangroves, followed by a hike of just under an hour, which was fun as we observed the island's flora and fauna.
Also, the Yaeyama soba at the top of the waterfall was very delicious.
After that, we descended to the base of the waterfall, and swimming in the pool was a valuable experience for the children.
The guide was also very thorough in their explanations, thank you very much.

It's rare to find a waterfall on a remote island, so I would love to visit again.

滝の上からの景気は絶景‼️
サンゴ礁の、島の先に鳩間島、絶景でした。
道中、西表島の大自然、マングローブを見ながらカヌーで上り、そこから一時間弱の山登り、島の動植物を見ながら楽しかったです。
また、滝の上での八重山そば、とても美味しかったです。
その後下山し滝壺へ、滝壺での遊泳は、子供には貴重な体験となりました。
ガイドの方も、とても丁寧に説明を頂き、ありがとうございました。

離島に滝､なかなか無いので、また訪ねたいです。

The last time I visited, I went river rafting on a leisure boat, so this time I wanted to do something with more activities, which is why I chose this tour.

There was a discrepancy between the meeting time listed on the voucher at the time of booking and the time I was told over the phone the day before. This required me to cancel and rebook the boat I had reserved the night before, which was a frustrating start. I was told that the schedule was based on the boats from Yaeyama Tourism, but that information wasn’t written anywhere, and I had no idea.

As for the activities, we did canoeing on both Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island, and the water clarity was definitely better on Iriomote Island. Despite it being a bit hot, I enjoyed it comfortably.

The snorkeling at Barasu Island was canceled due to rough seas, and in the afternoon, we were switched to a tour of Yubu Island. Since Yubu Island has such beautiful nature, I wish they would minimize the number of signs and plates to show the scenery as it is.

I exchanged LINE information with the tour staff because they said they would send photos, but in the end, I never received any photos. I wonder what that was all about. I would like to visit Iriomote Island again if I have the chance, but the tour left me feeling a bit unsettled.

以前訪れた際はレジャーボートで川下りをしたので、今回はもっとアクティビティ度が高いことがしたく、このツアーを選びました。
予約時のバウチャーに載っていた集合時間と前日電話で言われた時間が異なっていて、事前に予約していた船を前日夜にキャンセルと再予約が必要になり、いきなり出鼻を挫かれるスタートでした。八重山観光の船を基準にスケジュール組んでるからと言われましたが、そんなことどこにも書いてないし知らんし。。

肝心のアクティビティは、今回石垣島と西表島の両方でカヌーをしましたが、水のキレイ度が断然西表島の方が良く、少し暑いくらいのなか、気持ちよく楽しめました。

バラス島のシュノーケリングは海が荒れているため中止と前日に連絡があり、午後からは由布島観光に振替えました。由布島はせっかくの自然なのだから、案内のプレートや看板は極力減らしてそのままの景色を見せて欲しいなと思ってしまいました。

ツアーのスタッフの方が写真を送るからとLINE交換したのですが、結局写真は届くことはなく、あれはなんだったんだ。。
西表島は機会があれはまた行きたいですが、ツアーはちょいちょいもやもやする内容でした。

It was so much fun. The person who guided us was very kind and welcoming, and we made the best memories. The homemade warm Yaeyama soba and cake we had by the waterfall were also amazing. I highly recommend it.

It was my first time on Iriomote Island. I'm really glad I participated in this tour. At first, I was worried about whether I could paddle the canoe or climb the mountain, but the instructor, Hoshi, reassured me by saying, "There's no rush, let's take it slow," which made me feel comfortable joining in. I got to hear a lot of interesting stories. The female instructor (I'm sorry, I forgot her name) was also cheerful and easy to talk to, making the tour a lot of fun! The handmade soba and handmade mochi were both very delicious! I definitely want to participate again! 😊

The explanation before the activity was thorough, and everyone was kind, allowing us to enjoy the activity with peace of mind. Additionally, we got to hear stories about the unique animals of Iriomote, which made it all the more enjoyable.

アクティビティ前の説明も丁寧で、みなさん優しく安心してアクティビティを過ごせました。
さらに西表特有の動物のお話とか聞けて、色々楽しかったです。

We walked along a path in the coastal forest, illuminated by flashlights, heading towards the river with our guide. It felt like an adventure even before getting on the canoe! Although I was a beginner at canoeing, we practiced paddling on land before getting in, and the instructions were given very carefully, which made me feel safe and able to enjoy the experience. While paddling, our guide explained many constellations and animals that are active at night.

It was bright due to the full moon, so we couldn't see the bioluminescent plankton in the middle of the river, but our guide found a spot where we could see them, and I was really moved when we discovered the sparkling plankton. I was also happy to hear the calls of owls and geckos. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

ガイドさんと夜の暗い中、海沿いの林にある小道を懐中電灯で照らして歩き、川を目指しました。カヌーに乗る前も、探検しているみたいで楽しかったです！
カヌーは初心者でしたが、乗る前に陸地で漕ぐ練習を行い、乗り方も丁寧に説明して下さるので、安心して楽しむことができます。カヌーを漕ぎながら、ガイドさんは星座や夜に活動する動物をたくさん説明して下さりました。
満月で明るかったので、川の真ん中では夜光虫が見えなかったのですが、ガイドさんが見える場所を探して下さり、キラキラとした夜光虫を見つけた時はとっても感動しました。フクロウやヤモリの鳴き声を聞けたことも嬉しかったです。

It was so much fun! I was able to experience nature in a way that I usually can't, and I enjoyed delicious meals, which made for a happy time. If I have the chance again, I would like to use this service.

Clothes that can get wet are recommended. It's also a good idea to prepare towels and a change of clothes.

I made a mistake by wearing trekking pants over my swim trunks, so they got soaked from the rain and the spray from the waterfall. In the afternoon, I spent time only in my swimsuit, which made for a very cold experience on Yufuin Island in the bad weather.

I participated in late February, but the temperatures seem to be better in early March.

濡れても良い服がおすすめ。タオルや着替えも準備しておくと良いです。
何を誤ったのか、海パンの上に、トレッキングのパンツをはいて参加したので、雨と滝の水しぶきでトレッキングパンツはびしょ濡れ。午後は、水着のみで過ごしたので、悪天候の由布島では、非常に寒い思いをしました。
2月の下旬に参加したのですが、気温的には3月に入ってからの方が良さそうです。

At the Pinay Sara Falls, reached by mangrove canoe and trekking, I breathed in the ozone from the water spray. Walking through the cave with a narrow entrance was a bit surprising, but as I shone my light and moved forward, the space gradually opened up, allowing me to touch the stalactites up close. It was a truly unique experience.

マングローブカヌーとトレッキングで着いたピナイサーラの滝では、水しぶきのオゾンを吸い、道なき森を歩く鍾乳洞は狭い入口にちょっと驚き、ライトを照らして進むと次第に広がる空間で、鍾乳石を間近で触れる中々体験できないツアーでした。

Originally, we had planned to do mangrove stand-up paddleboarding and snorkeling at Balas Island, but due to strong winds, both activities were deemed dangerous. So, we switched to canyoning in the morning and mangrove canoeing in the afternoon.

I was really disappointed at first because I was looking forward to snorkeling and paddleboarding, but once we started the activities, both canoeing and canyoning turned out to be a lot of fun.

Canoeing on a wide river in a two-person canoe felt really nice. However, I think it's better to wear swimwear for canoeing. I attempted it in jeans, and my backside got wet enough that my pants were soaked!

Also, since there was quite a bit of canoeing involved, I, being a bit out of shape, am feeling a bit sore!

もともとはマングローブSUPとバラス島シュノーケリングの予定でしたが、風が強くシュノーケリングもSUPも危険ということで、午前中はキャニオニング、午後はマングローブカヌーに変更になりました。
体験前はシュノーケリングとSUPを楽しみにしていたので、とってもガッカリしていましたが、いざ体験してみるとカヌーもキャニオニングもとっても楽しかったです。
2人乗りのカヌーで幅の広い川を漕いでいくのでとても気持ち良かったです。
ただカヌーに関しては下は水着着用が良いかと思います。
私はジーパンで挑んでしまったのですが、パンツまで濡れるほどお尻が濡れましたw
あと、けっこうカヌー移動も多いのでちょっと運動不足の私はちょっと筋肉痛気味ですw

Upon arriving at Iriomote Island by ferry, our guide welcomed us and we got into a car to head to the Maira River. The Maira River had a gentle flow, and it was my first experience with canoeing, but I was able to enjoy it without any issues. Since we visited in February, our group was the only one on the river. Canoeing leisurely while admiring the mangroves felt wonderful, and I was able to spend a luxurious time in nature. The bright and friendly guide was very knowledgeable, and it was interesting to hear various stories about the flora and fauna of Iriomote Island and the culture of the Yaeyama Islands.

At the destination, we enjoyed homemade Yaeyama soba along with bread and coffee. Both were incredibly delicious.

The guide also took photos for us, but I recommend bringing a waterproof phone case so you can take pictures yourself as well.

My first experience on Iriomote Island became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much!!

フェリーで西表島に到着するとガイドの方が出迎えてくださり、車にのってマイラ川へ。マイラ川は流れが穏やかで、カヌー初体験だったのですが問題なく楽しめました。2月に行ったため、川にいたのは私たちのグループのみでした。マングローブを眺めながらゆったりカヌーで川を進むのはとても気持く、大自然の中で贅沢な時間を過ごせました。明るく気さくなガイドの方は知識が豊富で、西表島の動植物や八重山諸島の文化などに関する色々な話を聞けて面白かったです。
　ゴール地点では、自家製の八重山そばとパン・コーヒーをいただきました。どちらもとってもおいしかったです。
　
　ガイドの方も写真をとってくれますが、防水のスマホケースを持っていくと自分でも写真が撮れるのでおすすめです。

初めての西表島でとてもいい思い出になりました。ありがとうございました！！

With a safe route, even those new to canyoning could have a fantastic time! Jumping off the cliffs into the river was exhilarating and the best part!!

- Canoeing
Even though it was raining, paddling with all my might warmed me up! Haha. I was able to enjoy observing various creatures like crabs and hermit crabs in the mangrove forest!

Along the way, the guide shared various knowledge about the characteristics of Iriomote Island and considerations for the local wildlife!

The recommended dishes at the diner were also delicious.

It was a very satisfying tour, and I would love to join another tour when I visit Iriomote Island next time.

安全なルート取りで、キャニオニングが初めての人でも非常に楽しむことができました！
崖から川に飛び込むのが気分爽快で最高でした！！

・カヌー
雨の中でしたが、全力で漕ぐことで体が温まりました！笑
マングローブ林で、カニやヤドカリなど色々な生物を観察するなど、楽しむことができました！

道中では、西表島の特徴や生息動物への配慮など、様々な知識をガイドの方が教えてくださいました！

おすすめの食堂のメニューも美味しかったです。

非常に満足したツアーでした、次回西表島に来た際もまたツアーに参加したいです。

We took a ferry from Ishigaki Port to Ohara Port. From there, we drove to the canoe launch site. The temperature didn't rise much that day, and it was drizzling on and off, but we were provided with raincoats, which was a great help. It was colder than I expected, so I wish I had prepared warmer clothing.

At key points, we received explanations about the mangroves and life on Ishigaki Island, which were very interesting! We had homemade Yaeyama soba along with coffee and cake at the final stop. Eating in the great outdoors was fantastic!!! We also took a lot of photos, creating wonderful memories!

石垣港から大原港にフェリーで向かいました。
そのまま車でカヌー乗り場へ。当日は気温もあまり上がらず、小雨が降ったり止んだりの天気でしたが、レインコートを用意していただいていて、助かりました。思ったより寒かったので防寒具を用意できていればよかったです。
要所でマングローブや石垣島での暮らしについての説明をして頂き、とても面白かったです！
自家製八重山そばと食後のコーヒーとケーキを最終ポイントで作って頂きました。
大自然の中で食べるご飯はサイコーでした！！！
写真も沢山撮ってもらい、いい思い出になりました！

We experienced this as a family. Despite the weather forecast predicting rain, it miraculously cleared up, and we were able to enjoy canoeing in a calm atmosphere. With guidance that is reassuring for beginners, we spent a luxurious time listening to interesting facts about mangroves and small animals. We were able to relax completely. There was also a shoe rental available, and we didn't get as wet as we expected. They took many photos and sent us the data, so we have beautiful pictures that we couldn't have taken ourselves, and we were very satisfied to have photos of the whole family. Next time, I would like to combine this with trekking for even more fun.

家族で体験しました。天気予報が雨だったなか奇跡的に晴れて穏やかな空気の中、楽しくカヌーが出来ました。初心者でも安心な指導付きで、マングローブや
小動物の豆知識を聞きながら過ごす贅沢な時間。心からゆっくり出来ました。シューズレンタルもあり、思ったほど濡れずにできました。
写真もたくさん撮影いただき、データを送ってくださったので自分では撮れなかったキレイな写真や家族全員が撮れて大満足。
次回は、トレッキングなどと組み合わせて楽しみたいです。

We traveled by shuttle car from the hotel, wearing the boots, life jackets, and waterproof bags that were provided. First, we enjoyed canoeing through the mangroves. The air felt so refreshing. We paddled along while observing the Minami Tobihaze and schools of fish.

After getting off the canoe, we greeted the Sakishima Suo tree and set off trekking towards the waterfall. As we made our way through the jungle-like forest, we encountered various creatures such as the tree-climbing lizard and the Kishinoue lizard.

After walking for several minutes, we reached the top of the waterfall, which offered a breathtaking view. There were no fences, so we could see the waterfall up close. The homemade Yaeyama soba by our guide, Mr. Ishitaka, was delicious with a rich broth. Having lunch while enjoying the scenery was a fantastic experience.

After that, we headed to the waterfall basin. Taking a dip in the water after sweating from the trek felt wonderful. The Pinai Sara Falls is said to have the largest drop in Okinawa, and seeing it up close was impressive.

The homemade cake for a snack was made by the wife of a former baker and was very tasty. Please note that there are no toilets during the tour, so we had to use portable toilets. It was my first experience, but it wasn't difficult. The portable toilet near the waterfall basin has a waterfall view, which I highly recommend!

Mr. Ishitaka shared many stories with us, making it a fulfilling day where we could truly feel the diverse nature of Iriomote Island! We also got to take many wonderful photos. (The posted photos include some taken by him.)

ホテルから送迎の車で移動し、貸していただいたブーツ、ライフジャケット、防水バッグを身につけ、まずはカヌーでマングローブを満喫。空気がとても気持ちいいです。
ミナミトビハゼや魚の群れを見ながら進みます。
カヌーを降りたらサキシマスオウノキに挨拶し、滝上を目指しトレッキング。
まさにジャングルといった森の中を進むと、キノボリトカゲ、キシノウエトカゲなど様々な生き物に出会えました。
数十分歩き、たどり着いた滝の上はまさに絶景でした。柵も何もないので間近で滝口を見ることができます。
ガイド五十畑さんの自家製八重山そばは出汁がきいていてとても美味しかったです。
景色を見ながらのランチは最高の気分でした。
その後滝壺に向かいます。トレッキングで汗をかいた後の滝壺での水浴びはとても気持ちよかったです。
ピナイサーラの滝は沖縄県で最大の落差だそうで、間近で見ることができるので迫力がありました。
おやつの自家製ケーキは元パン屋さんの奥様お手製だそうでとても美味しかったです。
なお、ツアー中はトイレがないので簡易トイレを使うことになります。初めての経験でしたが難しくはなかったです。滝壺近くの簡易トイレがウォーターフォールビューなのでおすすめです笑
五十畑さんには色々な話をしていただき、西表島の多様な自然を感じられる大満足の一日となりました！

I didn't see many people doing it (laughs). The path along the way is filled with dense mangroves, so it's shaded. I think it might be cold. The guide provided a lot of varied information, which was really enjoyable and informative. After all, you have to participate in activities to truly experience them. Since I'm already in Iriomote, I should make the most of it. It seems like it would be really crowded in the summer. Even in February, there were quite a few people around.

途中の道中がマングローブが多い茂ったところなので日陰なんでね。寒いと思います。
ガイドさんが色々と多岐にわたった情報をくれるので、とても楽しかったし、ためになりました。
やっぱアクティビティはやってこそです。西表まで来てるんだから。
夏場は檄混みでキツそう。２月でもかなりの人が来てました。

It was forecasted to rain in the afternoon, but I participated anyway.

To conclude, it was the best tour ever.

I am grateful to the guide who provided rich knowledge and experiences, and offered excellent hospitality during lunch in the great outdoors.

Despite the looming rain, the management of the itinerary in advance, the pacing during the trip, and the engaging conversation that didn’t make us feel rushed gave me a sense of security and complete satisfaction.

Since it was winter, we didn’t enter the waterfall basin, but the jungle exploration was comfortable.

I was amazed by the strength of the water buffalo, and the tour, along with the Yufuin Island cruise, became a memorable experience.

I pray that this place is not caught up in the ravages of war, and I would like to visit again.

If I could wish for something, it would have been nice to have a changing area after the canoeing.

午後から雨予報での参戦。

結論から言うと、、最高のツアーでした。

知識や体験が豊富で、大自然でのランチも最高のおもてなしをして頂いたガイドさんに感謝しかありません。

雨が降りそうな中で事前の行程管理、道中のペース配分、その中で慌ただしさを感じさせないトーク、安心感、至極満足でした。

冬場なだけあって滝壺には入らなかったが、その分、ジャングルでの散策は快適。

水牛の力強さに感嘆、由布島遊覧ともに記憶に残るツアーと相成りました。

この地が戦禍に巻き込まれんことを祈り、また来訪したい。

欲を言えば、カヌー後の着替え場所があると嬉しかった

We took a ferry from Ishigaki Island to Ohara Port, where we were warmly welcomed. First, we enjoyed kayaking and trekking with a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide who shared insights about the mangroves. At the final destination, we savored delicious meat-filled Yaeyama soba, along with a homemade fruit cake-like bread made by the former baker's wife, and herbal tea. After retracing our steps, we rode a water buffalo cart to Yubu Island, where we had the freedom to explore a botanical garden island that can be walked around in about an hour. We admired the water buffalo leisurely soaking in the water, as well as the colorful flowers and butterflies, tasted homemade gelato, and interacted with the water buffalo, fully enjoying an hour and a half of sightseeing on Yubu Island. We were then taken to our accommodation near Ohara Port. The weather was cloudy with no sunlight, making it comfortable, although we were caught in a strong downpour during trekking, which was a bit of a hassle. However, since we were wearing rental shoes for kayaking and had life jackets on, the rain didn't bother us too much. It's handy to have clothes that can get wet, along with a towel and a hat, since we walked through the river during the trek.

石垣島からフェリーで大原港へ、港で出迎えを受け、まずは、マングローブをとても知識豊富で気持ちの良い語り手のガイドさんとカヤックとトレッキングで堪能し、ゴールの滝つぼで美味しい肉入り八重山そばと元パン職人の奥様手作りの凄く美味しいフルーツケーキのようなパンとハーブティーを賞味、来た道を戻り、水牛車に乗って、由布島へ、１時間ほどで歩いて廻れる植物園の島を自由散策し、水にのんびり浸かっている水牛や色とりどりの花や蝶を愛で、自家製ジェラートを味わい、水牛と触れあい、１時間半の由布島観光を満喫して、大原港近くの宿泊先に送っていただきました。曇り空で日差しもなく、過ごしやすい気候で、トレッキング中の強めの通り雨には閉口しましたが、靴はカヤック用のレンタルシューズですし、ライフジャケットを羽織っていたので、それほど雨は気になりませんでした。トレッキングで川の中も歩くので、濡れても良い服とタオルと帽子があると便利ですね。

Due to the cold weather in mid-January, we were the only participants without any other attendees. As a result, it was very quiet with no surrounding sounds or conversations, allowing us to fully enjoy the sounds of nature!

The guide had extensive knowledge about birds and plants, and we learned a lot while paddling the canoe!

Next time, I would like to participate in the summer!

1月中旬という寒い気候であったこともあり、
他の参加者もおらず我々だけの参加でした。
その為、周囲の音も会話もなく非常に静かで、
自然の音を堪能することができました！

ガイドの方の鳥や植物に関する知識が豊富で、
カヌーを漕ぎながら色々と学ばせていただきました！

次回は夏のタイミングで参加したいと思います！
