It was during a time when heavy snow was falling, so I was worried about going by my car and decided to join a tour. Most of the participants were from overseas.

The guide provided information in both Japanese and English, which helped us understand the key points to see and the best photo spots, allowing us to tour efficiently. The bus stop for Shirakawa-go at the station had a long line, so it was great to have made a reservation in advance and be able to board right away. The tour that allowed us to visit two locations was excellent. Additionally, since we stayed on the same bus, we could leave our luggage on the bus and enjoy sightseeing without being weighed down, which I thought was another advantage of the tour.

I had always wanted to see Shirakawa-go in the snow at least once in my life, and I was very satisfied.

大雪が降った時期だったので、マイカーで行くのが心配でツアーに参加しました。
参加者は海外の方がほとんどでした。

ガイドさんは日本語と英語、両方で案内してくださり、見るべきポイントや写真スポットなどが分かり効率的に周ることができました。
駅の白川郷行きのバス停は長く列ができていたので、事前に予約してすぐに乗れ、二箇所まわれるツアーは良かったです。
また、同じバスに乗り続けるのでバスに荷物を置いて身軽に観光できるのもツアーのメリットだと思いました。

人生一度は雪の中の白川郷を見てみたかったので、大満足でした。

The reservation made the day before was fine. Shirakawa-go and Ainokura had different atmospheres, which was nice. The guide explained the highlights, so we were able to tour efficiently. I think the time from 8:30 to 15:50 was just right.

8時半から15時50分という時間もちょうど良かったと思います。

I was taken to a place that is quite difficult to go to alone, and I had a valuable experience. However, the guide's rapid-fire talking was exhausting. There were many inbound foreign tourists on the tour, and the guide spoke a lot in English, but the pronunciation wasn't very clear, which was a bit concerning. Overall, the tour itself was good.

なかなか１人では行けない場所に連れて行ってもらい、貴重な体験が出来ました。
ただ、ガイドの人が弾丸トークで疲れました。ツアー客がインバウンドの外国人が多くて、英語でたくさん話していたのですが、発音がきれいでなくて、それも気になりました。
ツアー自体は良かったです。

On the second day of my first solo trip, I had reserved this bus, and the seats were fairly spacious and comfortable. The bus guide was cheerful and spoke clearly, which made the experience very pleasant. The driver also greeted us every time, which was really nice!

初めての一人旅で2日目にこのバスを予約していたのですが、席もある程度広く居心地がよかったです。バスガイドさんも明るくハキハキとお話される方でとても心地よかったです。運転手さんも毎回声をかけてくれてとても良かったです！

Comments from a foreign traveler on a solo trip.
This was my first time participating in a day tour within Japan.

Since most of the participants were foreigners, the guide provided clear explanations in both Japanese and English without any breaks, covering everything from highlights to food, as well as important notes. There were also some interesting stories sprinkled in, making the otherwise dull travel time enjoyable. Thank you very much.

The female driver was also extremely safe, which was a relief. Those prone to motion sickness will be just fine.

Winter is certainly beautiful, but I believe summer will be lovely as well. I hope to come back someday.

外国人は殆どのため、ガイドの方は休みなくずっと日本語と英語両方わかりやすく説明してくれました、見どころから食べものまで、注意事項などなど、ちょこちょこと面白い話も出てくる、つまらない移動時間は楽しく過ごしました、誠にありがとうございました。

女性の運転手さんも、超安全運転で助かります。車酔い人も全然ok。

冬はもちろん綺麗ですが、夏場もきっと綺麗だと思います。いつか、また来たいです。

The tour guide was very good at talking and made the travel time enjoyable by sharing interesting sights. Thanks to their recommendations, I was able to enjoy visiting both Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, and I was very satisfied.

The bus was clean, had WiFi, and was comfortable. They provided a bag for trash collection. There was also a small refrigerator on the bus where they offered to keep items purchased as souvenirs.

This was my first time using this site, and I'm glad I chose it.

It was hot, but thanks to our guide Mr. Yamashita's enjoyable explanations and accurate advice, we had a very enjoyable sightseeing experience. Shirakawa-go was of course great, but Ainokura felt like a time slip, making it a wonderful experience. I brought my elderly father along, and it was manageable time-wise, allowing us to fully enjoy the trip.

暑かったですが、ガイドの山下さんの楽しい解説と、的確なアドバイスのおかげで、大変楽しい観光を楽しむことができました。白川郷ももちろんよかったですが、相倉はタイムスリップした感じで、素晴らしい体験になりました。高齢の父を連れての観光でしたが、時間的にも無理もなく、満喫することができました。

I participated during the three-day weekend in January. Although it was the middle of winter, we were fortunate with the weather on the day, and I was very satisfied to see the beautiful scenery of Shirakawa-go covered in heavy snow. I would like to see the summer scenery next time.

冬真っ只中ですが当日は天気に恵まれ、豪雪に覆われた白川郷の景色を綺麗に見ることが出来て大変満足でした。次は夏の景色も見てみたいです。

Both the guide and the driver were kind.
Gokayama Ainokura had almost no other tourists besides us, allowing for a quiet and very moving sightseeing experience. I highly recommend visiting.
The shuttle bus to the Shirakawa-go observation deck was suspended in the morning due to an avalanche on the pathway. The guide provided detailed information on when to take the shuttle bus to ensure we could reach the observation deck in time for the return bus, which allowed us to tour efficiently.
In February, Shirakawa-go is very crowded, and those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal inside may not have enough time to visit the observation deck. I bought food that I could eat while waiting in line for the shuttle bus.
It was also nice that the bus seats were assigned. On tours without assigned seating, the auxiliary seats are often overflowing with foreign tourists, making it quite cramped.

ガイドさんドライバーさん共に優しかったです。
五箇山相倉は我々以外の観光客が殆どおらず、静かに観光できてとても感動的でした。是非行ってみて頂きたいです。
白川郷の展望台に向かうシャトルバスの通路が午前中に雪崩が起き運行中止となり、再開時刻や帰りのバスに間に合うように展望台へ向かうには何時までのシャトルバスに乗ったら良いか等、細かい情報をガイドさんがお知らせしてくれたので効率良く観光できました。
2月白川郷は大変混んでおりゆっくり店内で食事したい方は展望台に行く時間は足りない可能性があります。私は食べ歩きできる物を買って食べながらシャトルバスの列に並びました。
バスの席が決まってるのも良かっです。決まってないツアーのバスだと補助席まで外国人観光客で溢れかえっててかなりキツイです。

From Takayama Station to Shirakawa-go, it takes about an hour. While enjoying the view from the window, I was able to listen to the guide each time, so it didn't feel long at all.

This year, it was said that there was particularly heavy snowfall, but I felt safe riding the bus.

We got caught in traffic along the way, which shortened our stay in Shirakawa-go, but the bus's departure and arrival arrangements were flexible, allowing us to make the most of our time.

There were also international participants, so the guide provided information in English, which was enjoyable to listen to.

When we got off the bus, they collected the trash, which was helpful for us as tourists.

Unfortunately, due to a rare cold wave bringing heavy snowfall, the morning news advised people planning to visit Shirakawa-go to change their plans.

With some anxiety, I approached the reception counter, and was lightly told, "We're going." With mixed feelings, I boarded the bus.

The driver skillfully navigated the snowy roads, allowing me to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The passengers were mostly foreigners, and the guide provided information in both Japanese and fluent English. Having both languages doubled the experience, and the guide kept the conversation going. I thought it was impressive how they managed to engage everyone with a humorous storytelling style, showing great care for the guests.

On the way back, some people were delayed due to the heavy snow and missed the meeting time, so we arrived in Takayama a bit late, but we were able to catch the limited express to Gero as scheduled.

The snow-covered gassho-zukuri village was just as I had imagined. It was very cold, but I was able to experience the true winter atmosphere of the gassho-zukuri village, and the professional guidance from Nohi Bus made the experience even more enjoyable.

生憎、数年に一度の寒波で大雪となり、朝のニュースで白川郷に行く予定の人は予定を変更するようにと呼びかけていました。

不安を抱えながら受付カウンターへ行くと軽く「行きますよ」との事、複雑な気持ちでバスに乗り込みました。

運転手さんは雪道を危なげなくスルスルと運転するので安心して景色を楽しむことができました。

お客さんは、ほぼ外国人でガイドさんは日本語と流暢な英語で案内してくれました。両方なので2倍になり、ずっと話をしていました。大変だなあと思いつつ笑いを誘う楽しい語り口は神技だなあと思いました。気遣いも凄く良かったです。

帰りは大雪と集合時間に間に合わなかった人もいて高山に着くのが少し遅れましたが、下呂に行く特急に予定通り乗れました。

豪雪の合掌造りの村はイメージ通りで、すごく寒かったけど、イメージ通りの真冬の合掌造りの村を体験でき、濃飛バスのプロの案内で楽しさ倍増でした。

It snowed more than expected, but everything went according to plan. I'm grateful to the bus driver. There were many foreigners, so it wasn't a calm atmosphere, but I was satisfied to see the snowy Shirakawa-go. I was impressed by the guide's language skills and hospitality. Truly professional.

This was my first time participating in a tour. The guide was really good at explaining things in both Japanese and English, and I was impressed by how well they switched between the languages.

Gokayama was so quiet that I wondered if there were only our bus passengers there, making it perfect for taking photos. I thought Shirakawa-go had more people, almost to the point of overtourism.

This year, there has been a lot of snowfall, which must be tough for the residents, but as a tourist, I was able to enjoy the wonderful scenery. Personally, I preferred Gokayama, which, although smaller in scale than Shirakawa-go, offered a calm and quiet atmosphere where I could feel the gentle passage of time.

I visited at the end of the year, so there was severe traffic to Shirakawa-go, and the tour was completed 1 hour and 40 minutes late. Since I was staying in Takayama, the delay didn't bother me, but those who have further travel plans should be cautious. As others have mentioned, it seems that going to Shirakawa-go first would allow for more time flexibility.

I think the guide was quite busy alternating between Japanese and English, but I was glad to hear various interesting stories.

今年は積雪が多いとのことで住んでいらっしゃる方にとっては大変でしょうが、観光客としては素晴らしい景色を堪能することができました。個人的には白川郷よりも、規模は小さいながら落ち着いていて静かな五箇山が緩やかな時の流れを感じることができてよかったです。
年末に訪れたので白川郷への渋滞がひどく、1時間40分遅れでのツアー完了となりました。私は高山泊だったので遅れても構わなかったのですが、後行程で移動がある方は注意が必要です。他の方も書かれていましたが、白川郷に先に行く方が時間に余裕が出るように思います。
ガイドの方は日本語・英語代わる代わるの案内でお忙しかったかと思いますが、いろいろ興味深い話も伺えてよかったです。

I was worried about the snow when departing from Takayama Station, but we were able to proceed safely and as planned. The guide's explanations were great, and I truly enjoyed it. It was my first time visiting Gokayama and Shirakawa-go, and it was a wonderful experience. The one-day course from Takayama is also well set up, making it perfect to incorporate into a sightseeing trip in Takayama.

高山駅出発の時は雪で心配でしたが、無事、予定通り進めました。ガイドさんの解説も良く、本当に楽しめてました。初めての五箇山と白川郷でしたが、本当に良い経験が出来ました。高山からの1日コースという設定も良く、高山観光のついでに組み込むのにちょうど良いです。

I participated with my mother.

During the peak season for autumn leaves, the bus was fully booked, with about 80% of the participants coming from overseas.

The course included the Gokayama villages, which are not easy to visit on your own, and the mountain scenery along the way was at its best for viewing the autumn leaves. The bus guide provided thorough explanations about the World Heritage area and the scenery outside the window, making it a more enjoyable experience than traveling individually. (Explanations were provided in both English and Japanese.) The free time in each village was just right.

In Gokayama, there was enough time to casually explore the village. In Shirakawa-go, we had time for lunch, a stroll around the village, a shuttle bus to the observation deck, visits to 2 or 3 gassho-zukuri buildings, a short tea break, and time to shop for souvenirs before returning to the bus—plenty of time for everything.

Since the bus prioritized parking, there was no waiting time for entry, and everything was on schedule. It’s an efficient and easy way to enjoy sightseeing.

母と二人参加でした

紅葉のハイシーズン、バスは満席で8割は海外からの参加者でした。

自分では立ち寄りづらい五箇山集落もコースに含まれており、道中の山間も紅葉が見頃、
バスガイドさんも世界遺産となった地域の解説や車窓の風景の案内もしっかりしてくださるので、
個人で回るよりよりもしっかり堪能できると思います。（英語と日本語両方の解説でした）
それぞれの集落での自由時間もちょうどよかったです。

五箇山はさらっとぐるっと集落内をみて回れるぐらいの時間。
白川郷はランチ→集落内を一回り→シャトルバスで展望台へ行き→合掌造りの建物立ち寄り見学2、3箇所→ちょっとお茶休憩→お土産をみてバス帰着‥ぐらいの十分な時間がありました。

バスは駐車場が優先されるため、入場に待ち時間もなく、時間もオンタイムでした。
効率よく、楽に観光できる手段です

I was able to get a bus ticket to Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage site, through advance reservation, which meant I didn't have to stand in line on the day and it was inexpensive! Additionally, it came with an entrance ticket to the Gassho-zukuri Minkaen (the traditional farmhouses), and I definitely want to use it again when I visit Shirakawa-go next time!

また民家園の入園券も一緒に付いており、再度白川郷に行くときには絶対に使いたいと思いました！

It was a great tour that allowed us to visit both Gokayama and Shirakawa-go, and it even included admission to the Gassho-zukuri Minka-en. However, on the Sunday of the long weekend, we got caught in traffic heading to Shirakawa-go in our car. In the end, we took a different route and managed to bypass the traffic due to the priority entry for tour buses, but we were stuck in a nearly unmoving state for about an hour. As a result, the tour ended about 25 minutes later than scheduled, which made our return trip on the limited express train from Takayama Station very tight. Given the geographical relationship, it might not have been possible, but I would have preferred to visit Shirakawa-go first.

五箇山と白川郷の両方に行け、合掌造り民家園の入場券も付いてるお得なツアーでした。
しかし3連休真ん中の日曜日、白川郷に向かうマイカーの渋滞に巻き込まれ、最後は別の道を通り観光バスの優先入場によりごぼう抜き出来ましたが、1時間ほどほとんど動かない状態となりました。その影響でツアー終了時間が25分ほど後ろにずらされたため、高山駅で帰りの特急乗車がギリギリの時間になりました。
位置関係から無理なのかもしれませんが、先に白川郷に行ってほしかったです。

Gokayama Ainokura is small in scale, but there were few tourists, allowing for a leisurely stroll. Since it was the middle of a three-day weekend, there was a huge traffic jam in front of the Shirakawa-go parking lot, but tour buses were allowed to enter preferentially, so there was no waiting time. It was crowded, but I was still able to enjoy it.

五箇山相倉は規模は小さいですが観光に来られている方も少なくのんびり散策することができました。3連休中日だったので白川郷駐車場前は大渋滞でしたが観光バスは優先的に入れるとのことで待ち時間はありませんでした。人人人でしたがそれはそれとして楽しむことができました。

Check-in took a little time, but after that, the bus ride was smooth, and we were able to go to Shirakawa-go. The atmosphere was relaxed, and I was able to unwind for the first time in a while, which was refreshing.

チェックインに少し時間がかかりましたが、その後はバスもスムーズで白川郷に行けました。ゆっくりとした時間が流れていて、久しぶりにのんびりすることができ、リフレッシュしました。

I was disappointed that I couldn't get on the bus I wanted because I didn't have much knowledge and made a reservation. I reserved a designated seat and went to the bus center to confirm, only to find out that this reservation was only for a bus with unreserved seats. I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to board. As an elderly person, I thought I had secured a designated seat, so I was quite disheartened.

乗りたいバスに乗れなくて残念でした。
バスの指定席を予約してバスセンターに行って確認したらこの予約は自由席のみのバスしか乗れなくて30分ならんで乗りました。高齢者なので指定席がとれていたと思っていたのでがっかりでした。

It snowed in the morning and it was beautiful, but it was a bit disappointing that it was sunny in the afternoon. It’s pretty when it’s sunny too, but when the snow accumulates, it’s even more beautiful. The experience changes with the weather. I felt the time was short, but there are few buses available, so I recommend it for those without a car!

午前中に雪が降って綺麗だったんですが午後は晴れて少し残念でした。晴れた時も綺麗ですがやっぱり雪が積もるともっと綺麗。天気によって体感が変わる所。時間が短いと感じましたが利用できるバスが少ないので車が無い人はおすすめです！

I visited the two gassho-zukuri villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama.
Shirakawa-go had many tourists, with plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants, making it enjoyable as a tourist spot.
Gokayama, on the other hand, didn't have much of a touristy feel, allowing me to see a more natural village landscape.
Both had their own unique charm, and I was glad to have visited both.

白川郷と五箇山の二つの合掌造り集落を巡りました。
白川郷は観光客が多く、お土産屋さんや食べ物屋さんもたくさんあり、観光スポットとして楽しむことができました。
五箇山は、観光スポットらしさはあまりなく自然な集落の姿を見ることができました。
二つともそれぞれに良さがあり、どちらも見学出来て良かったです。

I chose this course because even though it's a bit more expensive, it allows for an efficient visit to two locations. With the cheaper course, the bus had unreserved seating, which meant I would have to line up each time, leading to a loss of time. When I actually went, there was a heavy snow warning, and the regular bus service was uncertain. Since it was a sightseeing bus, I didn't have to worry about the return bus not showing up, allowing me to use my time effectively. There were also some guides for minor sightseeing spots, which was nice.

多少高くても2ヶ所を効率よく回れるのでこちらのコースにしました。
もう一つの安いコースだとバスが自由席だったりして、いちいち並ばねばならず、時間のロスだと感じまして。
実際に行った時は大雪警報が出ていて、定期バスの運行も不確かでした。
観光バスなので、帰りのバスが来ないとかの心配もなく、時間を有意義に使えました。
ちょっとした観光スポットの案内などもあり、良かったです。

We are very impressed with the guide as she was friendly and her explanation with sufficient knowledge kept us interested with the sites. We enjoyed Gokayama very much (touched my heart!) but Shirakawago was a let-down as the location was packed with Asian tourists. It was not like in Japan at all! Although we had more than 3 hours there to explore, we had to wait about one hour just to get in a restaurant for lunch. We later noticed that the places which require an entry fee were less crowded. Our recommendation is "Minkaen" and "Kanda House." The map they provide is not very accurate (the numbers on the map were confusing). The guide was very kind and it was great. Her explanations were thorough, and we listened with interest. Gokayama was serene and moving. (I received a very detailed explanation at the farmhouse. It brought me to tears.) Unfortunately, Shirakawago was disappointing. It was extremely crowded with Asian tourists, and it didn't feel like Japan at all. Even though we had more than 3 hours to explore, it wasn't enough. We had to wait over an hour just to have lunch. We should have given up on the shuttle to the observation deck from the start; if we had gone to places that require an entry fee, we could have enjoyed a quieter experience. Kanda House and Minkaen are recommended. The numbers on the map we received were not very reliable.

It was a quiet season with snow falling, but I visited a cave for the first time. It was quite cold, so I think it might be better to go in the summer. I took a bus from Takayama Station, and there is a shuttle bus from the bus stop to the facility. I believe it's worth visiting for those who have never been to a cave.

雪が降る閑散期でしたが、初めて鍾乳洞に行きました。
なかなかの寒さで夏に行くのがいいかな～と思います。
高山駅からバスで行き、バス停からは施設のバスが送迎してくれます。
鍾乳洞に行ったことがない人はいってみる価値があると思います。
