Don't Expect Sea World

This certainly isn't Sea World. It is a very small (quaint) park. If you have had the experience to swim with dolphins like I had in Mexico (ocean evironment, large swim area for dolphin, small group), this certainly isn't the same. It is a bit expensive, but one of the cheaper ones. It is in a small tank environment with about 4 groups of 10. Each group does have their own dolphin. It is a quick kiss, belly rub, and belly ride. They really just want to sell you pictures or a cd. My younger children enjoyed it (10 and 11), but they have never done it before. Don't have pictures, because only their photographers can get close enough to take any. I did enjoy the drive out, and the scenery.

Dolphin Swim Adventure

My husband, 8 year old daughter, and I attended this excursion on Saturday Aug 9 2008 as a part of our 10th anniversary celebration. We had paarticipated in a similiar experience on our honeymoon in Mexico 10 years ago and had high expectations because of our prior dolphin encounter. In all the park was small, and the cages a bit old and dirty. The animals seemed happy and the trainers showed a genuine love and bond with the animals. We purchased the photos, and the video but were disappointed that it was edited to the point that a lot of the dolphin action was left off the tape, and only the photo ops were really videoed. In all, a fun experience for first timers, or introducing children to the animals, but I would not recommend this if you have done it before...way too commercial.

This was one of the most enjoyable activities I took part in on my trip to Hawai'i. I absolutely loved it. The trainers and staff are almost as sweet as the dolphins. I was thoroughly impressed with the fact that no one was excluded from the activities based on size or age. If you signed up for it, you got to swim with dolphins. Ricky, one of the trainers, is entertaining even without the dolphins. It's like a comedy show and dolphin swim in one. He's hilarious! Great pictures at a reasonable price, and if you have someone to sit in the stands, they'll even let you take your own pics and videos. I highly recommend this activity. Oh, and if you do it, add on the ray encounter. Not many people do it, it only costs $15, and it's also very entertaining and informative.

We went all out on this one---we swam with the dolphins, the rays, and we did the sea trek! We loved all three! The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The ray pool is a bit small and murky, but still stunning for being able to handle live rays! I'd say don't miss it if you can afford to go and do the encounters, do it do it do it! The only thing i'd warn about would be that the park is small, not much there to do if you don't do the special encounters.

The Dolphin Adventure was quite fun. The venue is a bit less than what I had imagined. (I was thinking more along the lines of SeaWorld-esque.) Though the staff was quite courteous and the facility was clean. This was a good first-time adventure with dolphins. Would not recommend eating at their food court.

The dolphin swim was a great time...the park itself is run down and somewhat boring...so do not go too early.

First of all, there were way too many people in the pool at once. There were 5-6 trainers and 3 groups of 10 in one small pool. It was so confusing. One minute the trainer said we would be doing this and then the next minute, we were moved to the other side of the pool and were doing something else. There was only one "one-on-one" interaction with the dolphin. The dolphin comes up to you and we grab his/ her fins and swim 5 feet. I thought we would have a chance to have the dolphins go under our feet and push us, like they showed in the video while we were waiting. Too much money, not worth it!

I've always loved dolphins and now EVEN more. You have to try the ROYAL SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS!!! By far, my favorite Hawaiian Acitity dot com activity of the trip!!! I'm not a good swimmer (can dog paddle) and wasn't sure about being in an 18-ft tank (1 M gallons of water with 3 dolphins). I had a life vest on. Awesome, awesome, awesome experience!! I touched, kissed, and posed with the dolphins. Other places in the world do that. But here you can lay on your belly, two dolphins swim up behind you and push your feet; it's like waterskiing by dolphins. I LOVED it!!!!!! Also, you float vertical in the water with your hands to your side and two dolphin swim to each side of you, sliding their fins into your hands and take you for a ride. Awesome experience, unique to Sea Life Park in Hawaii! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!!!! Try it! You'll love it!! Dolphins are fabulous creatures! And we bought a DVD of our experience so we can take it home and relive it again. We also did the Sea Trek expereince. That too was fabulous. Went 18 ft deep and had beautiful fish and turtles swim by us. We got to feed and touch some of them, and took lots of pictures. An experience you want to do, definitely!!!

Kaleo and I had a great date the other day. He’s such an astounding athlete, really energetic, a great swimmer, an amazing dancer, and just loves to give kisses! Granted his breath is rather fishy, his skin is quite rubbery, and his home is rather damp, but his million-dollar-smile completely won me over. What a treat it was since he is one of the best looking dolphins at Oahu’s Sea Life Park! Yup, I got to have a day of fun-in-the-sun with Sea Life Park’s Dolphin Adventure and it was truly a wonderful experience. Not only did I get to see all of the marvelous marine creatures throughout the park, but I did one of the most in-depth interactive dolphin programs available in Hawaii. After a short briefing, a small group of us were led to Dolphin Cove by a fabulous trainer. She immediately put us at ease as we made our way into the water and after telling us a couple of dos and don’ts, it was time to introduce ourselves to Kaleo. He is such a sweetheart and I had oodles of fun with him. As we all swam into deeper waters, we watched as Kaleo swam under us and the fluidness of his movements was wonderful to observe. I got to hold hands with him as he quickly pulled me across the water and experienced just how powerful dolphins truly are as he pushed me along with his snout, or rostrum to those that are dolphin. After we got our fill of stroking his belly and back, and watching him dance, it was time for our farewell kisses. After peck on the check and a nice smooch on the lips, it was time to say my goodbyes. Dolphins are such amazing creatures and to be able to interact with one in such an in-depth manner is something that I will never forget!
