Get ready for an all day adventure including a 40-minute nature walk offering the best opportunity to view the most active volcano in the world. Fire and water mix spectacularly in this exciting excursion! Explore one of the planet's most volcanically active environments right in the middle of the Big Island's paradise, with emphasis on the most recently-active areas. Be awed by the fury of Hawaii's volcano goddess, Pele, and be impressed by the beauty of her creations, which include extensive lava flows and Hawaii's unique black sand beaches. *Lava viewing is not guaranteed.

Activity Level: Easy to Moderate

Participants must be in good health and capable of comfortably walking one mile on uneven natural paths with ascending and descending slopes.

Later, you will relax and open your eyes to lush tropical rainforests and tranquil cascading waterfalls while learning all about our state's history and culture. There will also be a no-host lunch stop at the beautiful Volcano Golf and Country Club.

  • Participants may not scuba dive within 24 hours prior to this activity.
  • Participants with asthma or other respiratory problems are not recommended to avoid potential health problems from exposure to fumes.
  • Not recommended for pregnant women.

Requirement(s)

  • Participants are required to sign a liability waiver.
  • For all island flights or day trips, the name should appear as it is on picture ID (license or passport). The Interisland Air Carriers will deny boarding if the passenger's legal name, as shown on their valid government-issued ID does NOT match the name on their E-Ticket. IF A PASSENGER IS DENIED BOARDING, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.
  • All passengers MUST present government issued, photo ID for airline check-in.
  • Children 2 years old are required to pay for the airfare and ride in the lap of an adult in the vehicle.
