Saddle up and ride the base of the beautiful Ko'olau Mountain Range on Oahu's North Shore, offering some of Hawaii's finest views. While meandering through the majestic Ko'olau Mountains you will go to a variety of scenic points which not only overlook miles of Oahu's finest coastline, but is surrounded by the amazing scenery of the ranch as well.

Up until now, this majestic encounter could not be experienced by the public, but Gunstock Ranch has now opened its doors inviting you to come and experience the excitement and beauty of this 400-acre working ranch.


Max Smith

 Gunstock Ranch has been in the Smith family for over 35 years. Originally from Arizona, Max Smith is a third generation rancher. His children and grandchildren are born and raised in Hawai'i and are dedicated to the family business. Max Smith has also received the honor of being added to the Paniolo Hall of Fame.

"Sweetheart Ride" perfect for couples

"Sweetheart Ride" perfect for couples

This 2-hour ride is designed with couples in mind. A wrangler escorts you on a private horseback ride to a scenic point to picnic on light refreshments. You will be left alone for 30 minutes to enjoy the beautiful scenery and your "sweetheart's" company. Your wrangler will care for your horses and help you back on them before escorting you back to the stables. Single party rides only. Max of 3 couples booking together. (All skill levels)

Restriction(s)

  • Participants must be 7 years and older and may not exceed 250lbs.
  • Wheel Chair Accessibility: Stairs are available to help those up onto horse. Riders must be able to hold themselves up on saddle as well as self-assist or be a member of a party that can assist you onto the horse. Ranch facilities are typical un-paved ranch conditions and restrooms are standard portable. Please indicate during booking for most convenient arrangements.

    Wear closed toed shoes and long pants.
