Paradise Cove

Reviewer: Mr. Donald  Posted on 27 Jul 2010
Overall Rating:
They had a LOT of activities going on at the same time to keep everyone entertained. Plenty of good food. It was difficult to see the stage show from the regular seating. You may want to consider upgrading.

Monday evening Luau

Reviewer: Ms. Married 13 years  Posted on 23 Jul 2010
Overall Rating:
We had a wonderful time. There were a lot of children there and the staff used quite a lot of sexual innuendo so I would not take my children. Was not crowded. We got to do quite a few of the activities and crafts which was fun. I felt pampered and the night was romantic. The pork is out of this world. Pleanty of food. Music and dancing were fabulous.

Note:get to know your camera and practice taking photos at dusk with moving images. Otherwise when you get home your photos willl be all blurry.

Paradise Cove Luau - July 2010

Reviewer: Mr. RC  Posted on 14 Jul 2010
Overall Rating:
As a first time visitor to Hawaii ,I was not sure what to expect from a Luau. The Luau actually begins on the bus ride to Paradise Cove. We were greeted, welcomed and entertained by our host, "Cousin Bronson." He told funny stories and jokes and explained what to expect before we arrived to our destination. This made everyone feel "connected" and a part of the "family."

Paradise Cove Luau was enjoyable and it was a great experience for all of us. The Paradise Cove entertainers were very well trained and showed a great deal of confidence and expertise in their skills and their dances. Afterwards, they were available for pictures and autographs. Paradise Cove is a wonderful setting for a luau. Very beautiful location for the setting sun pictures.

The trip back to our hotel was another entertaining ride with more stories and jokes from Bronson. I would recommend Paradise Cove Luau to anyone. Great job!

nice experience

Reviewer: Ms. jeannette  Posted on 25 Jun 2010
Overall Rating:
Going to a luau is something everyone should do at least once. Paradise cove is beautiful and the staff very friendly. The "games" are not impressive, but give you something to do. The show is good. The food is good but not labeled, so try everything. Did not like most of the native dishes, but the pork and chicken were excellent. The drinks are poured in front of you, shots measured and often generous. Unless you are a drinker, I would not say they are watered down. You can purchase bigger, "better" drinks as well. (i didn't need to.) Had the standard package and would not bother with more expensive packages, seats are all good and buffet lines move quickly and plenty of food. Bring small bills for tips. I would recommend this activity to family and friends. Some small children there, ok for kids.

A great way to spend a night!

Reviewer: Ms. Anonymous  Posted on 5 Jun 2010

One thing that I was told by anyone who visited your island was to attend a Luau. After reading reviews on websites, I chose the Paradise Cove experience. I am very glad I did. My two year old granddaughter enjoyed the activities and dancing as much as my 70 year old mother. If you leave this experience hungry, you have no one to blame but yourself. The ocean view was gorgeous and the sunset that night was breathtaking. Thank You!!!

Fabulous!

Reviewer: Mr. MinnesotaMike  Posted on 23 Apr 2010
Overall Rating:
I asked my kids which activity was their favorite and they agreed that, other than surfing, this was it. The bus trip to the cove was hysterical, our guide was so wonderfully engaging and entertaining. I never thought that listening to people singing Old Macdonalds Farm could be so funny. The activities were great and the sun setting into the cove at the perfect time was idyllic. A great day.

Pay attention to conch announcement

Reviewer: Mr. Anonymous  Posted on 23 Mar 2010
Overall Rating:
Enjoyed the evening with our family of 3 teenagers. We played the games and felt encouraged by the staff, did the hula, watched most of the shows. However, we missed the main ceremony because we were doing something else at the time. They had the conch shell sound for each event but did not verbally announce it therefore we missed it which was disappointing. The food and dinner show were wonderful. We drove ourselves and the place was easy to find.

Decided to take a chance...

Reviewer: Ms. Kristy  Posted on 10 Mar 2010
Overall Rating:
Let me just say, I took a chance. I heard it was expensive, cheesy, and basically over-rated. BUT, I also heard if you do decide to do a luau, do Paradise Cove, and go all out with the Deluxe package... They were right!! (lol, PC should pay me for this review...)

As a young couple in our 20's.... WE HAD A BLAST. They do a great job making you feel special with the deluxe package: shorter lines, extra drink tickets, souvenir gifts, and we had the VERY FRONT seats (regular tickets put you WAY in the back)!!! Totally worth the extra money to be right in front and have table service (no waiting in long lines for the buffet)... The food was better than expected, drinks were...pretty. The dancing/ show was what was expected-

but what we both agreed on what made PC special was the cove!!!! It was stunning, and the view is everything i imagined Oahu to be. We went on our 2nd night, and it was very romantic!!! When we went on the little canoe ride they offer, WE SAW A GREEN SEA TURTLE!!!

Tips: do a nice package. (you wont even have to pay for the photos) bring at least $20 in cash so you can upgrade for stronger drinks (if you want a buzz), and bring a camera!!

Luau

Reviewer: Ms. Kathleen  Posted on 14 Feb 2010
Overall Rating:
We had never been to a luau so we had nothing to compare this to. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

The entertainment and activities before and after the meal were great, fun and appropriate for all age groups.

The taste and quality of food was good. The amount was plentiful. The alcoholic beverages that came with the VIP ticket was plentiful, although not very strong.

We bought the VIP package so that we wouldn't have to stand in line for the buffet. We went at a slow time in February (about 350 people) so it wasn't bad, but I would definitely recommend the VIP package in the peak season.

The lei and photos were very nice.

The fun didn't stop when we left the luau. The Paradise Cove tour guide sent to pick us up was fantastic. In the way to the luau we got to know the other people on our bus. We became a family of "cousins." On the way back we had music and humor based on our shared experiences. Our tour guide even played his ukulele and serenaded us. I didn't want to get off the bus.

Quality

Reviewer: Ms. sparky  Posted on 10 Nov 2009
Overall Rating:
The Laua is a special Hawaiian treat. It is an event that everyone should experience for the feel of the islands. The personnel was terrific, and met the quality standards we expected. The performers after dinner were Frist Class. They should be visited by many for just the pure ability of their craft. The women were beautiful, and very nice afterward to have photos etc. We have attended before and the quality is the best.

Fun

Reviewer: Ms. Teresa  Posted on 31 Oct 2009
Overall Rating:
First off, the paradise cove men are like gods. Also the girls are beautiful. Well, this was very enjoyable and the food was amazing. The activities were fun too. My dad actually did stuff, and he never does anything. The staff was friendly... the only thing I would say is their bar needs to pick up the speed. But other than that, fun! Highly recommend it! The show was so fun!

Paradise Cove Luau was interesting. First timer and I thought it was a little long. Entertainment was great. Food was good. Compared to Hilton hotel's Luau, I'd go to Paradise Cove's because of the games and entertainment.

Had a good time

Reviewer: Ms. Susuna, JD  Posted on 7 Oct 2009
Overall Rating:
This was our first luau and it was fun, lots of activities to do prior to dinner and the main shows. Staff was all very friendly. Only that kinda sucked was that it started raining on us and it wasnt until the 3rd pour down that they began to hand out ponchos, so i guess i would recommend to bring an umbrella because all festivities do occur outdoors! Other than that, food was delicious, show was fun, staff was friendly, drinks were stiff, and there was plenty to do!!!! Would most definately recommend.

Great evening, great memories!

Reviewer: Mr. Renee and Tom  Posted on 18 Sep 2009
Overall Rating:
We enjoyed ourselves before, during and after the meal. There were plenty of activities to either participate in or watch. The meal was great and we were surprised how quickly everyone was served. The entertainment was top notch with just enough audience participation. We also enjoyed taking home the picture that will remind us of the lovely time we had in such a beautiful setting.

Wonderful !!

Reviewer: Ms. Lilly  Posted on 15 Sep 2009
Overall Rating:
This is a MUST do for EVERYONE. We did the VIP box at the back and had the best seats in the place. The stage is still pretty close from the box and it is raised up at the same level as the VIP box so you see over top of everyone else who is in the general seating area. The VIP treatment really makes the whole experience so much better you get 2 pictures taken and don't have to wait in line ups. I couldn't imagine waiting in the long line that formed for the buffet!! There were lots of booths and activities before the dinner and show started we wandered around and watched some of the acts and tried the games they had set up, We walked out to the beach and the rocks which had an amazing view. It was just such a good time, perfect for the first night or two in Hawaii to get you in the "Hawaiian" mood!!! If you are going to do this activity do the VIP, you'll be happy you did :) The show was really good. Kids will love this but if you are a couple it is quite romantic!!
