Hawaii Volcano Adventure Tour: This is a comprehensive tour of the Hilo (East) side of the Big Island with more time spent at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Shortly after your arrival at the Hilo Airport, you will be driven through Hilo Town where you can see the famous Banyan Tree Drive. The Banyan trees found along this road were planted by movie stars, religious leaders, political leaders, famous authors, adventurers and local Hawaiians dating back to 1933.
You will then be taken to the picturesque Rainbow Falls located at the Wailuku River State Park. Impressive in size, this 80-foot tall and almost 100-foot wide waterfall flows over a natural lava cave into a large freshwater pool below surrounded by lush tropical fauna. Another highlight of this Hilo tour includes a visit to the world famous, and always delicious, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory (depending on day and season).

Then it is off to the world famous Kilauea Volcano which has been steadily erupting since the 1980's. Your expert guide will entertain and educate you with a fully narrated tour. Your lunch stop will be made at the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory which features deli sandwiches, chili and hot dogs, ice cream and also the Kalapana Village Café which offers breakfast items, plate lunches, burgers including mahi, ahi or ono burgers, salads, deli sandwiches and ice cream, among many other choices.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants with asthma or other respiratory problems should consider taking the Hawaii Circle Island Tour instead to avoid potential health problems from exposure to fumes. Also, live lava sighting is unlikely.

  • For all island flights or day trips, the name should appear as it is on picture ID (license or passport). The Interisland Air Carriers will deny boarding if the passenger's legal name, as shown on their valid, government-issued ID does NOT match the name on their E-Ticket. IF A PASSENGER IS DENIED BOARDING, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.
  • Wheel Chair Accessibility: All stops are accessible except for Thurston Lava Tube. A transfer vehicle equipped with a lift is available with prior booking and notification of at least 2-4 days. Please indicate during booking to secure arrangements.
