What an Adventure

The rain tree forest was a wonderful adventure for us. Nina of Oahu Tours was extremely knowelgeable and patient guests who had knee troubles etc. The hike was about 1 mile in and out to see the Falls. Its amazing how the terrain of Oahu changes within a couple of miles from the city of Honolulu. Aloha

Great Hike

This was a terrific hike, however I really wouldn't recommend for young children. There were some pretty big steps and places you had to find your way as the step up was 24 inches or better and with rain, the path can be pretty muddy and slippery. Good shoes are important. Trail is narrow in places and someone has to step off to the side if there are people going both directions. Lots of breathtaking plants and flowers to see. Since the falls are rain fed, their size is completely dependent on the rain. If it hasn't for a while, you may only see a wet wall where the falls are.

This hike was so fun and such beautiful sights. YOu'll come out with some awesome pictures to show your friends! Our guide was really good too- he knew all the facts about the plants and trees and even where certain movies had been filmed and what not. The waterfall was an amazing finale as well!! Everyone should try this when they take a trip to Hawaii!

This hike was great fun and even though Oahu is experiencing a draught Manoa Falls was beautiful. Our tour guide (Jeanette) made the hiking experience so much fun. She knew exactly how to pace us and when time for a rest stop it was always near an interesting tree etc. and she would take the time to give us its history. She was very knowledgable, friendly and patient. We learned much about Hawaii during our hike and she continued "teaching" us as she drove us back to our hotels! Great time and beautiful scenery.

I have to say that our guide was absolutely amazing. I even at one point asked if he was a naturalist. His degree was in polynesian studies, so he wasn't just a 'cab driver' and hiking 'escort'. We felt like we really were educated not only on Oahu, but all of the Hawaiian islands. The hike was an easy one for anyone who has any hiking experience at all. It can be muddy, but it is well worth it. The falls for us were just a trickle as it hadn't rained in a few days and the strength of the falls are obviously directly related to the amount of rainfall. We still felt the hike was worth it, even if it was more like a 'drip' than a 'fall' the education we got about the tree's, plants, history, nuts, animals....you name it. I just can't say enough good things about our guide (Greg or maybe Craig, we can't remember) he was just so knowledgeable and friendly. He spoke with everyone, left no one straggling behind, made sure we all had water and anything else we needed, and really just made a very enjoyable hike. Don't miss this one!

I just got back from Hawaii and we did the Falls tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. The hike wasn't too hard, but it does get a little muddy and slippery. The walking stick helped me out. He stopped to point out good photo opportunities and took pictures for us. Our guide even took us to another location for a view of the city.

This was the highlight of my first trip to the islands. Our guide "rascal" (I don't remember the Hawaiian word for that)was really the BEST!! He was born & raised there and had so much to share about the beautiful plants. He shared a great little secret w/ us about the red ginger. I promised not to tell. The plants, flowers, and surroundings are a must to experience! It rained & poured on us on our way back down the hike. Oh what an awesome time! THANK YOU Rascal!!

My sister and I loved the hike. You will get slightly wet and muddy, but that's half the fun. The walking sticks provided were a huge help especially when we came up against slippery rocks.
