Back Roads of Oahu Tour

Get off the beaten path on this interactive and educational experience taking you on through back roads of the island of Oahu. Take a unique journey through time which blends culture, history and agriculture beginning with native Hawaiian living to Hawaii's plantation days of yesteryear to today's modern farming culture.

See Hawaii's largest producing watercress farm, then sample a Portuguese donut, the malasada, before heading to the northern side of the island. Next you will visit Halemano Plantation with a walk through its garden filled with grapefruits, oranges and coffee beans and sample fresh cut pineapples during a pineapple cutting demonstration before heading to Sunset Beach, a favorite local hangout and a rare treat for guests to our island.

At Kahuku Farms, an exclusive destination for Roberts Hawaii, you'll learn a bit of local farming history and taste apple bananas and Kahuku gold papayas right there on the farm. Here is where you will enjoy your hosted lunch featuring the freshest ingredients grown here at I. Afterwards, re-board the bus to make your way to the Waikane Tropical Farms where you can sample the wide variety of seasoned macadamia nuts which are prepared fresh daily.

Lunch Menu:

• Pulehu Marinated Beef, served with "hapa" rice (mixture of brown and white rice), local greens with lilikoi vinaigrette featuring Kahuku Farms Lilikoi. Marinade features Kahuku papaya as a tenderizer, garlic, Aloha shoyu, sugar, sesame seeds, Hawaii orange grown at Kahuku Farms and green onions.
• Vegetarian option: North Shore Tomato Salad featuring North Shore vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh Mozzarella cheese, fresh brasil, local greens and a lilikoi vinaigrette featuring Kahuku Farms Lilikoi.
