You have saved up for this amazing Hawaiian vacation all year, so why not see it all while you are here? Making inter-island transportation easy, effortless, and affordable, Expeditions Ferry offers a way to get from Maui to Lanai, and see not just one, but TWO islands during your stay!
Local residents and visitors alike enjoy the short trip across the Auau Channel aboard Expeditions' fast, United States Coast Guard certified vessels. With Expeditions you'll enjoy spectacular views of Maui County, including the islands of Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Kaho'olawe. On a clear day you may even see the Big Island of Hawaii, and during whale season (January-April) you'll marvel at the record number of Humpback whales between the islands.
Expeditions Ferry will also help you plan your day or overnight stay on Lana`i, offering you an exclusive variety of packages including golf, guided tours, jeep excursions, sporting clays, luxury overnight accommodations and more. As the island is smaller, with limited availabilities, be smart and make your life easier by arranging your Lanai activities before you go!
Once known as the Pineapple Island, being named so because the Hawaiian Pineapple Company (later known as Dole) operated pineapple plantations on almost 20,000 acres here, Lana`i is now dubbed Hawaii's Most Secluded Island. In the 1980's, entrepreneur David Murdock transformed the failing agricultural operations into an impressive, world class travel destination, while still somehow maintaining the majority of the island's untouched beauty, natural landscape, historical artifacts, and overall atmosphere of a pristine paradise.
In fact, you will notice that the island's unusual appeal is most apparent in its contrasts, ranging dramatically from the vivid and vibrant colors of lush, tropical foliage, to the somewhat forbiddingly stark landscapes, or the sunny white-sand beaches, to mist covered, rugged pine forests. It could easily be said that Lanai has it all. So hop aboard the ferry and come explore all that this intimate island has to offer!
