Description
Hike with Hawaiian Walkways' Certified Volcano Guides in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park where you are immersed in the fantastic terrain, microclimates, dynamic geology and flora of the unique world of Kilauea volcano.

Quick View

Location: Kilauea Volcano, East Hawaii
Time: Daytime
Duration: 6hrs
Available: Mon, Th, Fri & Sat
Transportation: N/A

Your Hawaiian Walkways' knowledgeable guide will guide you through endless possibilities of lush rain forests, lava tubes, steam vents, craters, a desert, islands of vegetation isolated by lava flows.

Kilauea remains a sacred place for those who follow traditional Hawaiian practices. Your exploration of the varied realms within Kilauea will tell the astonishing scientific story of island creation and evolution, and the remarkably insightful explanations of the people of old - ka po'e kahiko - for the phenomena they observed so well. When access is permitted you may have the opportunity to view flowing lava or eruption sites of molten lave (conditions permitting) You will traverse many diverse trails, which range in difficulty from easy walking to more difficult hiking. Your hikes will cover approximately six miles of seldom-visited and uncrowded corners of the active volcano.

Rated: Easy to difficult, 6 miles of hiking, 6 hours
