The crew is especially committed to protecting the whales by educating the public, and their departure location near Waikoloa is one of the most ideal whale watching locations on the Big Island. Your onboard marine naturalist will explain the humpback�fs dramatic behaviors as you listen to the whales communicate via the underwater hydrophone!

The Boats: You will be sailing on either the Sea Smoke or the Alala, both of which are smooth-sailing catamarans, made to glide effortlessly through the water.

Sea Smoke (Anaeho'omalu Bay): Winning numerous trophies, including three transpacific victories, Sea Smoke is the most celebrated commercially operated catamaran in Hawaii. This USCG certified, custom built 58' x 28' CSK sailing catamaran accommodates 49 passengers and features a full service bar, on board stereo, hydrophone for listening to marine life, indoor cabin, restroom, trampolines for sunbathing and spacious sun deck with comfortable seating.

Alala (Kawaihae Harbor): Named after the endangered Hawaiian Crow, this luxurious sailing catamaran features a spacious deck with ample seating for all passengers and first-class amenities. It�fs a USCG certified, custom built 65'x30' catamaran that accommodates 75 passengers and features a full service bar, hydrophone for listening to marine life, luxury indoor cabin, restrooms, trampolines for sunbathing and spacious sun deck.
