Q. Are we allowed to keep any fish we catch?
A. Fishing charters in Hawaii generally keep the fish caught as part of crew compensation, however a fair portion will be shared with the passengers of the fishing charter at the captain's discretion.
Q. Can we just throw our fish back if we are just fishing for fun?
A. No, catch and release is not allowed.
Q. Are we allowed to bring food and drinks?
A. Yes, there is a cooler already on board to help keep your food and drinks cold. However, glass containers and bananas are not allowed.
Q. Do I need any prior experience to participate in this activity?
A. No experience is required! The crew will show you how all the gear works and will provide assistance as you need it.
Q. How far in advance should i book this activity?
A. We recommend booking 3-4 weeks in advance. If you are booking a private charter this will help ensure you get to pick the perfect date for you, and if you are booking a shared charter, this allows plenty of time to fill the extra seats on the boat. Last minute availability is possible, but often limited.
Q. What kind of boat will be used?
A. The "Happy Times" is a Coast Guard inspected 41-foot Concorde Sport-fisher complete with all the trimmings. She is quipped with a forward stateroom with bunks, a marine head, and a spacious galley area all set to make this a relaxing day at sea.
